MIANWALI: Five men released on bail in the Chidroo Vani case on Monday vowed to marry the girls promised to them or else continue their vendetta against the latter’s families. The girls’ brothers have sworn they will kill the men rather than hand their sisters over. Iqbal Khan was convicted of murdering Zaman Khan and was sentenced to death. However, a punchayat decided that five girls from Iqbal’s family would be wedded in Zaman’s family as reconciliation and the case was withdrawn. Later, Iqbal’s family said the girls did not want to marry the men. The enraged men attacked the girls’ brothers and injured two. Presently, the girls’ fathers have offered Zaman’s family money, land and other belongings to end the conflict.
