MULTAN: Two men killed their sister and her suspected lover by slitting their throats, while another woman was also killed by her brother for refusing to marry a man chosen by her family in a separate honour killing.Abdul Ghafoor and Manzoor killed their 27-year-old sister Shamim and her alleged paramour, Rafiq, with the help of their two cousins, Mursaleen and Allah Ditta, in Ganjaywala village, approximately 35 kilometres south of Multan. Ghafoor and Manzoor overpowered Shamim and Rafiq with the help of their cousins and slit their throats with a kitchen knife, relatives said. "We have registered a case but no one has been arrested so far. It is a case of honour killing," Munir Ahmed Chisti, the Multan district police officer, told Daily Times.
In a similar incident in Mian Chunnu, Khanewal district, Muhammad Akram of Chhab Kalan village killed his sister, Mussarat, after she refused to marry a man chosen for her by the family. In other news, a housewife was shot dead by two men in Darkhwast Jamal Khan village. Allah Bakhsh and Muhammad killed the woman to avenge the alleged rape of their relative by the woman's brother-in-law.
