DAMASCUS - Syria and Lebanon discussed on Sunday the implementation of oil and electricity agreements signed between the two countries and stressed the importance of evaluating these agreements for the benefit of both.
El-Daher told reporters after the meeting that âelectricity cooperation between Syria and Lebanon has always been fruitful for both sidesâ. Syria has always âcommitted to provisions of any agreement with any country especially Lebanonâ he added. The minister added that an outstanding debt of 30 million dollars owed by Lebanon to Syria for electricity supply âwould not be an obstacle in the way of improving relationsâ and said he hoped to find a suitable way to settle this debt. The first electricity agreement between Syria and Lebanon was signed in 1995 | |
