US Forces Beginning New Offensive Against Fallujah
2005-07-27
From Jihad Unspun, an article by By Muhammad Abu Nasr, Free Arab Voice
US forces began a new military offensive against Fallujah at dawn on Tuesday that they have codenamed “Gnawing Rats” ..... A major in the so-called Iraqi military told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the operation aims at killing or arresting armed Resistance members in Fallujah, which, he claimed, have recently become noticeably active in the city. The operation is expected to last for a very long time.

“Gnawing Rats” was launched by the US Marines together with their puppet “Iraqi army” as of 10 a.m. local time Tuesday morning, beginning with the arrest of 50 “suspects,” based on claims that the US military has information about the presence of Resistance fighters in the city. Because of the new offensive, Fallujah is once again paralyzed while being subjected to the campaign of arbitrary arrests and raids, so far on more than 70 houses. ....

.... over-flights by an unusually large group of American warplanes, six in total, plus a large number of helicopters provided air cover as more than 50 American occupation vehicles deployed, heralding the arrival of the US commander. .... Meanwhile residents in the neighborhoods of al- Mu‘allimin, al-Muhandisin, and ash-Shuhada’ were put under curfew and their shops and stores were ordered closed.

.... three US Marines were found dead on the banks of the Euphrates River in the area “between the bridges” in western Fallujah. The cause of their deaths was not clear, given the relative calm that has prevailed in the area since Tuesday morning. ....

US forces announced that they would arrest any journalist who enters Fallujah without a pass issued by them, or who takes photographs, or conducts interviews. ....

... a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance forces had bombarded the US occupation camp north of Fallujah. The correspondent reported witnesses as saying that eight blasts shook the American camp sending clouds of black smoke rising into the sky. ... Resistance fighters had been fiercely bombarding the US forces in the ‘Amiriyat Fallujah area, south of the city of al-Falllujah from Tuesday afternoon .... The facility for military production -- now called al-‘Amir Facility, but known as the Saddam Facility for Military Production prior to the American occupation -- came under Resistance attack with Grad rockets Tuesday afternoon. A total of fifteen powerful explosions had gone off by 9pm Tuesday night, local time, as rockets blasted into the American-occupied facility. The correspondent who is located in the city was able to hear the explosions of the rockets going off in the facility outside of town. The Saddam Facility for Military Production has been an American headquarters for some two months now.

Some valid arguments here for asswipe media designed category where folk can post stories of propoganda for Jihadis or other foreign enemies. I enjoy laughing at their bullshit as well as seeing the sophistication levels of their media arms as they develop.

Zarq's new video for instance, I'd like to see that shite posted under such a category. Know thine enemy and all.

otherwise great job Fred et all.

Not to change the subject, but shit, I'm biting at the bit to see the Wolf Brigade show where they interview the jihadis... just add some English subtitles and we'd have the best seat this side of baghdad.

Cracked-out gay orgy lovin jihadi hard boyz confessing their crimes after being brutally beaten by the Iraqi SF, now that's entertainment!

Does anyone know if they've got the show's footage on the web yet, any subtitles if so?

#20  I would also like to know what's up with Jihad Unspun. Is it being posted to mock, as the North Korean jibberish is from time to time, or do you think there is some value in this Mike?

#18  Actually, I agree that we should have a new category for ememy propaganda, to include Jihad Unspun inanities, the Idiotic Imam of the week pronouncement, Durbin press releases and anything KOS puts out.

#15  What IS your fascination with Jihad Unspun?

Personally, I find it mildly amusing but amateurish and dry. It lacks the raging seethe of NKor agitprop and the witty irony of ScrappleFace. Not surprising, I guess, coming from a religious cult totally against both fun and logic.

Wait a minute. I thought we were targeting and killing journalists.

Whom should I believe? Linda Foley or Jihad Unspun?

#11  Mike, I really/dearly wish I could write that kind of stream of conciousness stuff. Even on a bad day .com is way better than I could ever be and I think I can write. I won't rant on this, but what is with the Left and their denial that people with real talent exist?

#10  Say what!!??? Fallujah again? I predicted this last December (see below). That's why a thorough-going B-52 bombing campaign followed up by napalm is what Fallujah deserves.

#7  I've suggested before and I'll suggest again: this type of article should have its own category, say, "Terr-talk" or something like that.

#6  MS,
I gotta ask this - by posting this story, are you telling us that you believe this to be true? I don't want a long detailed answer, just a simple yes or no - do you believe that this is true?

#1  Operation "Waste Bandwidth" was re-launched by the Jihad Unspun Brigades together with their puppet "Mikey" as of 00:23 Eastern Wednesday morning. It is now recognized as part of the larger "Look at Meee!" campaign, evidence in the archives show. The disinformation insurgency forces have recently turned up the heat, with some elements suddenly reappearing after a self-imposed hudna. Additionally, new cells are regularly formed and disbanded thanks to concerted citizen militia action. In light of the heightening activities of these forces, local citizens are urged to dial their ACME Bullshit Detector™ to the lowest band setting to prevent damage and a resulting permanent cognitive dissonance.
