Officials: Pakistanis not linked to Egypt bombs
2005-07-26
SHARM EL SHEIKH, Egypt (CNN) -- Five Pakistani men being sought by Egyptian authorities are not connected to Saturday's bombings in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, Egyptian officials said Tuesday.
Two official government sources -- Hussein Haridy, Egyptian ambassador to Pakistan and the Interior Ministry press office -- denied a Pakistani link to the bombings but did not deny law enforcement was already looking for the Pakistanis and is still looking for them.
"No, no, they're not suspects. We prefer the term; 'person of interest'."
Or the term, 'material witness'.
Egyptian officials had circulated pictures to local Egyptian authorities of the suspects.
But they're not suspects
They confirmed they had been seeking them before the Saturday attacks, and the Interior Ministry told CNN that investigators had concluded the suspects had no connection to the Sharm el-Sheikh bombings.
"No, no connection. It's perfectly normal for stuff to blow up around Pakistanis, happens all the time."
Haridy told CNN he had informed the Pakistani government about the investigation's conclusion. State-owned newspaper Al-Ahram also denied any link of Pakistanis to the explosions.
And if you can't believe a state-owned paper...
Other independent media in Egypt are still posting the pictures of the five Pakistani men and reporting they are still suspected of involvement in the bombings. The suicide bombings on Saturday killed 84 people, including at least two bombers, and wounded more than 200 others.

#2  You only bet on sure things JE. Something like this? Claim: Mossad behind Sharm attacks
Several Egyptian "security experts" and "political analysts" interviewed by Arab TV stations in the aftermath of the Sharm e-Sheikh bombings on Saturday claimed that Israel and Jews were behind the carnage.
