Canadian General Says It Like It Is | |
2005-07-17 | |
If Canadians were shocked that the head of their military called his enemy "detestable murderers and sc*mbags," they better get used to it. Gen. Rick Hillier has never minced words, nor is he likely to start any time soon... I think the original post may have been inadvertently killfiltered for language. There is considerably more at the link.

#9 Yes and there is a "left leaning" institute who says the Gnbereal should clarify its alarming comments. I'd send lots and lots of cash to this general if he "clarifies" his statement by saying, "We should kill the detestable murderers and scumbags, and the people who defend them should be run out of town on a rail." |

#7 I agree with understanding terrorists in the same way that I agree there is value in interviewing serial rapists, murders and pedophiles - to neutralize them more effectively. Empathizing with Mohamed Atta is deranged. |

#6 The guy who says we should care about ROOT CAUSES is entirely right. We should care about the teaching of hate, we should care about a doctrine who says Muslims and more specifically Arabs are a herrensvolk destined to rule the world, we whould care about a doctrine Muslims and more specifically Arabs can perpetrate the most horrendous crimes against Khaffirs without this being a fault and that it is a horrible crime for Khaffirs to retaliate. These are the root causes of terrorism and this is what we should fight. |

#5 This is reassuring. I was under the impression that Canadians were turning into Europussies, to borrow Canadian columnist Mark Steyn's word. Hurrah for General Hillier! |

#4 "But at the same time, if we're really going to deal with this problem and have a hope of putting an end to terrorism, then we have to work towards understanding the "ROOT CAUSES" (my emphasis), which go much deeper than current events in Iraq and Afghanistan." Stop navel gaving and go read Dore Gold's "Kingdom of Hatred". Then you'll know what the root cause is. Hint...it isn't us. |

#2 Yes and there is a "left leaning" institute who says the Gnbereal should clarify its alarming comments. IMHO it is this institute who should clarify its tendency to support the likes of Stalin, Mao, Ho Chi Minh and Pol Pot in addition to its support for people like the Islamonuts who are for slavery, women opression and forced religious practice |

#1 Finally, we find some Canadians worth the sacrifices made at Juno by their own countrymen. |
