USS Nimitz Trespassers Face Extended Remand |

KLANG [Malaysia], July 8 (Bernama) -- Five men who were caught in the security area of the nuclear-powered USS Nimitz aircraft carrier berthed at the Westport here last Friday had their remand extended by five days by the Magistrate's Court here Friday. Magistrate Mujib Saroji granted the extension to enable police to continue with their investigation. The five are being investigated under section 447 of the Penal Code for criminal trespass. Three of them aged between 41 and 62 were caught in the ship while the other two, aged 41 and 52, were believed to have breached the security area in the wharf to take pictures of the carrier. |

#3 They weren't on the ship itself, but on a restricted portion of the wharf. It could be innocent. When I was working for the Navy (civilian) one of our group wanted to look around on a ship, so when a couple of LCDRs went up, he followed and said "we're with them," walking quickly as if to catch up. He was caught when leaving. "You weren't with them, were you." "Um, well, no." He got a nice talking-to and a letter in his file, but that was all. Of course if they are moslems, they aren't innocent. |
