Charles' wedding hits snag again
2005-03-02
At least three objections have been lodged against the wedding between Britain's Prince Charles and his longtime mistress Camilla Parker-Bowles in the latest hiccup to their plans, a newspaper said yesterday. The legal complaints, or caveats, were delivered to the head of the registrar office in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, southwest England, which covers Charles' countryside retreat of Highgrove, the Daily Mail reported. If they provide a convincing argument, any one of the documents could prevent the two divorcees from holding a civil marriage ceremony on April 8, it said. "I can confirm that at least three objections have been received by the Cirencester office and I have copied the one lodged by Williamson," Diane Waddington, registrar for Chippenham in Wiltshire, told the daily.
He's gonna wish they'd just shacked up in a trailer park in the rural South.

#21  There's also been network routing problems, at least for me, on and off the past week. It's part of the reason NFP wasn't properly done.

#18  Andrea, dear, Barbara is an EMT or another emergency-related profession. She checks in when she can, but when she doesn't I make the assumption that people's lives or something similarly important is at stake -- so I figure best not to joggle her elbow. Barbara is not the only Rantburger so employed, and of course there are those who are practicing their craft in our Armed Forces; they tend not to post in the midst of battles and such, I think. Politer just to interact with those who make their presence known here, and assume those who don't have a really good reason not to at the moment, which they'll share later if they can.

#14  Big Ed. All that matters is that the union will last- till death do it part. I really don't care~ I'll never marry for personal reason's.
Vegas is not a spot that I would chose- to each is own. From what I have been told it's a quicky
place to marry in and they do NOT turn anyone away. So...that is where they should go and get it over with.

#13  Big Ed - I second that....got married there a little over 5 months ago. We loved it, and believe it or not, Andrea, it was beautifully done by the chapel we chose. Our little party of 25 had a blast.

Personally, I wish the two of them the best of luck.

#12  --His point was that people should understand their limitations -- their place in life.--

And they wonder why we left and didn't come back.

#11  Ms. Andrea...
Vegas?

Look at the map of Nevada.

There are plenty of rural out-of-the-way counties with the same laws as Vegas... and more "ROYAL PRIVACY"

My wife and I were married in Vegas. She is foreign, and had no family here, and I chose not to involve any of my family except my mom, the witness, who was provided a room at a different hotel, and an ample supply of quarters for the slots...

Vegas is not as bad as you think it is...

#8  But his great-uncle "Eddie" didn't step down until after he was crowned, something Master Charles has been suffering his whole life waiting to acquire. The selfish pig isn't likely to give up the golden vision unless forced to it.

#7  Renounce your claim to the throne in favor of your son, Chuck. These problems will dissappear.

#6  I find it hard to have any sympathy for this guy after that recent incident where he wrote a memo chastising a palace employee for aspiring to be promoted. His point was that people should understand their limitations -- their place in life. This, coming from the poster boy for the "I-did-nothing-of-substance-to-earn-my-position-in-life" group.

#5  Screw it, just hop the plane to Vegas. If it was good enough for the 'King' its good enough for the Prince. And what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
[*just remind the Prince that it is Las Vegas, Nevada, not Las Vegas, New Mexico which, BTW, hosts an international confab that the Prince sponsors.]

#1  If he and Camilla are serious, he should abdicate in favor of "Wills", and go riding off in the sunset to Bermuda like his great-uncle "Eddie" did when marrying my distant cousin "Wallis"

(My Grandmother's maiden name was WARFIELD)
