| An office on Wyandotte Street East is recruiting Iraqis living in Canada to join a security force in their native country for $10,000 US a month. "They will protect the foreign companies when they do reconstruction. That is the No. 1 priority," said Baghdad-born Windsor resident Luma Al Tamimi, whose Iraqi Canadian Partnership for Democracy organization lobbied for the office, which opened last week. Similar recruitment centres, believed to be funded by the U.S., have opened across the border as close as in suburban Detroit. Al Tamimi said the forces "will also be at the important places - hospitals, airports, banks, embassies."
