In a story Thursday about Iran's nuclear activities, The Associated Press quoted an Iranian official as saying Iran's uranium conversion facility in Isfahan, in central Iran, has a capacity of converting 30 tons of uranium ore into hexafluoride gas annually. The official, Ali Akbar Salehi, a senior adviser to Iran's Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi, contacted the AP on Friday to say he had misspoken and that the Isfahan plant can convert more than 300 tons of uranium ore a year. Thanks, that makes me feel a whole lot better. |
