Shukrijumah may re-enter the US through Arizona or Texas
2004-08-21
The FBI has issued an alert for a suspected al-Qaeda member who may try to cross the U.S. border through Arizona or Texas. Adnan Gulshair El Shukrijumah, 29, is suspected of being an al-Qaeda cell leader and has been wanted by the United States since 2003, authorities said Tuesday. The latest information places him in Honduras with the intent of crossing the U.S.-Mexican border, said Art Werge, a spokesman for the FBI's office in El Paso, Texas. "We certainly don't want him crossing into the United States because his plan is to conduct terror operations," said Werge. "He is believed to be one of the most dangerous cell leaders below the leadership of al-Qaeda." Federal officials also have asked police in Guyana to help find El Shukrijumah, who once lived in the South American country and who still has relatives here. "We showed and distributed wanted posters and bulletins and asked them to be on the lookout just in case he doubles back here," said Dennis Pierce, a legal attache at the FBI's office in neighboring Venezuela.

#9  But I'm getting to the point where I'd rather see the Europeans and Canadians kept out - rather than the Mexicans.
Where have you been all these years? Teddy Kennedy's reform immigration act of 1965 has accomplished your dream.

As for Mexicans being hard workers...maybe to start with...then it's bean line. Check out the research done by the Center for Immigration
www.cis.org about the unusually high percentage of your mythical "hard working" Hispanic immigrants on welfare. In case you will automatically dismiss this organization as "red-neck" I've got news for you-the founder contributes articles to National Review and Washington Times. Numbers USA www.numbersusa.com is another good search of research about illegal immigration.

As for your mis-informed negative comments about European and Canadian immigrants, wrap your brain around some of these indisputable facts. If it weren't for Canadian, British, Dutch, and Polish, Serbian resistence against the Axis powers during WWII, your sorry ass would be speaking Japanese or German now.
http://web.jjay.cuny.edu/~jobrien/reference/ob62.html

Furthermore, Canadian and European troops constitute the largest contingent of foreign troops to join the USA in the WOT in Afghanistan and the sub-rosa assistence of Canadian frigates and helicopters in the Persian Gulf helped guard US ships from terrorist attacks by sea as well they escorted supply ships for coalition troops. There were Canadian intelligence officers on the ground with the US in Iraq. This information had to be choked out of Chretien in his last days of power because he deluded his own Liberal party and Fraaaance into thinking that Canada gave no support to the US during the Iraq War.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/iraq/canada/canada_role.html

Also, besides the UK European countries like Italy, Poland, Holland, Denmark, Ukraine, Spain had/have troops on the ground fighting shoulder to shoulder with the USA.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/iraq/news/20030327-10.html

On the otherhand, Mexico gave ZERO, I repeat ZERO troop support to the US in Afghanistan or Iraq inspite of having the highly vaulted Federales military and next to zero help in WWII. Mexico has a military numbering approximately 225,000, of which army is the dominant division. Mexico outspends many of the coalition countries including Poland and Ukraine on its military, but still Mexico could not scrounge up even a single Federale to send to either Afghanistan or Iraq, whereas Poland has 2500 troops in Iraq and the Ukraine has 1600.
http://www.odci.gov/cia/publications/factbook/rankorder/2067rank.html
Mexico used its vote on the Security Council to vote AGAINST the US on the UN resolution regarding Iraq.

Today while our troops are fighting in foreign lands against terrorism, Mexican federales are escorting drug runners and illegals across our border and firing on our border guards thereby contributing to "domestic" terrorism within our nation. Read Michelle Malkin's great article about our "weasel" pseudo ally on our southern border:
http://www.townhall.com/columnists/michellemalkin/mm20030312.shtml

Though we read of 8-12 million illegal aliens, mainly Hispanic, living in our country, only a limited number of illegals have joined the Iraq War effort to get citizenship -the number I recall reading was a couple of hundred men out of how many million eligible illegal Hispanic males???

So take your I hate European/Canadian whitey attitude and stuff it.

#7  you are probably right about the paper shuffling, but most Mexican immigrants I know are HARD workers, who do more to earn a living here than those of us who have time to sit and post on the net.

If they can have a baby and get on the "bean line" ...whose fault is that?? Certainly not theirs for taking the freebees we're stupid enough to give away, no strings attached. I don't believe in blaming people for doing things that I would do myself if I were in their shoes. And if I was in their shoes I'd like to think I'd have the gumption to do it.

It's a complex problem. But I'm getting to the point where I'd rather see the Europeans and Canadians kept out - rather than the Mexicans.

#6  provide them with work permits that allow them to work as cheaply as they are willing to work without them.
Thanks but no thanks. France and Germany and Holland tried work permits and look what a disaster they have on their hands now with angry, dis-affected, unemployed and unemployable, work permit immigrants whom they have great difficulty deporting once jobs dry up due to the outcry of human rights activists.

No, work permits are not the answer to stopping the flow of illegal aliens from Mexico. Permits will only serve to add more inefficient paper shuffling silly servants into our useless federal gov't bureaucracy. Also, I'd like to see some welfare folks get off their keysters and mow lawns to earn their stipend before I allow more Hispanic laborers in this country, who promptly have an anchor baby or 4 to stay permanently here and then proceed themselves to join the "bean line."

There is no research anywhere that justifies the high rate of uneducated immigrants that we are legally importing from Mexico and other Third World countries every year, so let's not open the door for yet another sub category of "work permit" types to come in. This is not the 18th or 19th century when we need fields plowed or forests removed or railroads built.Getting Mexico to change itself into a non-corrupt, non-racist, non-oligarchical society is what is needed to stem the flow of illegal Mexicans, who are mainly of non-Spanish descent and are therefore doomed forever to a life of poverty in Mexico as it stands now in Mexico.

We need to militarize our borders. End of story.

#5  Why not offer a BOUNTY of, say $20,000 to any Mexican who informs on a NON-MEXICAN trying to cross into the US, if it results in the US putting the bag on the foreigner. $20,000 in north Mexico would damn near cause a gold rush. Anyone who didn't speak Mexican Spanish, some indian language, or English, would have twenty thousand hungry eyes watching him.

#4  I really believe we could stop the flood of illegals tomorrow if we wanted to. And we could still have our lawns cut cheap. But the looney leftists, and labor unions would rather turn a blind eye to the illegal status of these hard working people than to provide them with work permits that allow them to work as cheaply as they are willing to work without them.

So instead we leave them at the mercy of dishonest people..to protect them, you see.

Jeeze..I've really been ranting the last couple of days. Time to log off.

#2  Crazyfool: And alienate the millions of Hispanics in the US who hope/help others come across ilegally? Not going to happen.

#1  Meanwhile the United States remained spread-eagled with a wide open southern border with a sign saying 'F--k me!'......

I dont suppose it occurs to anyone to control the border....
