Venezuela Opposition Refuses Recall Audit

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - Maintaining that a failed referendum to oust Venezuela's president was rigged against them, opposition leaders Wednesday refused to participate in a partial audit of the results as proposed by former President Jimmy Carter. The opposition's refusal to accept Chavez's overwhelming victory in Sunday's referendum threatens more upheaval in this South American country, which remains deeply divided over President Hugo Chavez. Carter and the Organization of American States - which monitored the referendum and endorsed the results - on Tuesday proposed an audit of 150 polling stations to assuage the opposition's concerns of vote fraud.

#1  Hopefully the blood (that will be on Carter's hands) won't start spilling until next spring. I'd like to have more sunny days so that I can ride my motorbike more frequently when the price of gasoline rockets to $3/gallon and above.
