#2 For those who would like an excellent description of exactly what a DDOS (Distributed Denial Of Service) attack is, you can read Steve Gibson's article here. When a moron can't actually 'hack' into a website (a rarity, despite the clueless press's breathless reporting), their best option is the DDOS / DRDOS approach: in essense: "If I can't bust in and screw the site up, I'll just make sure others can't access it." BTW, you can find out how secure your PC is by trying Steve's Shields Up! test sequence and have a look at all of his other offerings here at the main page. SpinRite rocks. |
