A Tunisian criminal court has jailed a high school student for 25 months for belonging to an Islamic militant group accused of planning bomb attacks, lawyers said on Saturday. âThe court judge, Adel Jeridi, handed down a two years and one month sentence against the teenager,â defence lawyer Mohamed Abbou said. The 19-year-old high-school student went on trial on Friday on charges of being member of an unnamed radical Islamic group, manufacturing explosives and planning bomb attacks, lawyers said. The verdict was made public on Saturday. Six other men arrested along with the student were sentenced to 19 years and three months jail earlier this month on the same charges. |
