Mediator says hostage takers don’t plan to kill [Japanese] captives |
2004-04-15 |
The group that has taken three Japanese nationals hostage in central Iraq does not plan to kill them, a self-claimed "mediator" in the hostage crisis has told the Mainichi. Mazhar al-Dalaimi, head of an Iraqi human rights group, said during an interview with the Mainichi here on Tuesday that he had met the three hostages on Sunday, and that they looked quite healthy. The hostage takers promised not to kill the three, Mazhar said. However, they said in a message to Qatar-based broadcaster Aljazeera that they would kill the hostages unless Japan withdraws its troops from Iraq ... So, which is it? Do these terrorists, "not plan to kill them" or are they going to "kill the hostages unless Japan withdraws its troops from Iraq." It’s just so confusing when these rutbags flat-out lie. Let’s just kill them and say we couldn’t figure out what they meant. |
