| France finds Eta ’weapons cache’ |

| French police say they have seized a large arms cache belonging to the Basque separatist group, Eta. Two Eta suspects were also detained during the operation in a village in south-western France, not far from the Spanish border, police say. French television reported explosives and weapons were found in the raid. On Friday, French police said they had arrested two senior members of the group in a joint operation with Spanish police in the region. They said the logistics chief of the armed group, Felix Ignacio Esparza, was detained near the city of Dax. Felix Alberto Lopez, believed to be a former leader of Eta, was held near the town of Angouleme. |
