| Kerry, trying desperately to look cool. Instead, he looks like a complete idiot. The image-conscious candidate and his aides prevailed upon reporters and photographers to let him have a first run down the mountain solo, except for two agents and Marvin Nicholson, his omnipresent right-hand man. His next trip down, a reporter and a camera crew were allowed to follow along on skis — just in time to see Mr. Kerry taken out by one of the Secret Service men, who had inadvertently moved into his path, sending him into the snow. When asked about the mishap a moment later, he said sharply, "I don’t fall down," then used an expletive to describe the agent who "knocked me over." Nice. A Secret Service agent, assigned to protect him, gets called an "asshole." Way to win friends and influence people, senator. The incident occurred near the summit. No one was hurt, and Mr. Kerry came careering down the mountain moments later, a look of intensity on his face, his lanky frame bent low to the ground... Still, Mr. Kerry could not entirely escape the hazards of the arena he had left behind. He had just sat down for a bite to eat on the crowded patio near the lift line when a waiting skier, John Norris, shouted: "Hey, John! What foreign leaders talked to you?" Heh. Pretty good for an area full of super-rich liberals’ ski homes. |

The only other explanation is that the SS agent came from behind Kerry skiing a lot faster. |

| #19 DUpers will point out that Bush referred to the the notorious asshole Adam Clymer an "asshole" during an unguarded moment with Cheney. Bush wasn't talking directly to the press, and Clymer is not in a subordinate position. The real sin to libs in that case was showing disrepect to a fellow elitist. You can almost hear Kerry saying "You just can't find good help these days!" As for Kerry himself: He's tall, he's rich, he skis, and he speaks fluent French. I can just see all the old Camelot groupies swooning and tossing their panties onto the stage at his next appearance; once they get their Depends off, that is. |

On Friday, Kerry, his snowboard strapped to his back, hiked past 9,000 feet on Durrance Peak, then snowboarded down the mountain, taking repeated tumbles. (Get ready for the hanging chads blues!) Kerry will never accept personal responsibility for anything or be generous to anyone. It's not his style. He's an ultra-liberal, after all. |
