| Acid thrown on teenage girl | |

A teenage girl received severe burn injuries in an acid attack by miscreants at Atulia village in Shyamnagar upazila on Friday night. The victim has been identified as Prabhati Rani Mandol, 14, daughter of Dinabandhu Mandol of the village. Quoting victim’s relatives police said hoodlums, failing to make love with her, threw acid on her. She was critically injured in her chest, hands and face. She was rushed to Shyamnagar Health Complex. On information, the Acid Survivors’ Foundation came to her aid and shifted her to Dhaka for better treatment. Victim’s father Dino Bondhn Mondal filed a case with Shyamnagar thana. However, none was arrested, police sources said.

| #2 I think if she simply takes a lesson from Spain and appeases them from now on, she should be okay. And so will all of the other girls who will find themselves in a similar situation. Those boys just want cooperation--they don't really want to be mean. |
