Foreign terrorists conducting training in areas reportedly controlled by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front have been told to remain incognito so peace negotiations between the MILF and the Philippine government would not be jeopardized, according to a highly placed source from the Philippine National Police. âThey [foreigners] were told not to move around and stay where they are at the moment,â the source said. The source also confirmed reports that members of the Jemaah Islamiah (JI) are training personnel in Mindanao and have provided aid to the MILF in carrying out bombings. Taupik Ripqi, an Indonesian and suspected member of the group, was nabbed recently by combined police and military operatives. Police said Ripqi is the main contact of foreigners coming to Mindanao to coordinate with the MILF.
