Suicide Bomber Injures Two in West Bank
2003-10-09
EFL:
In the West Bank, a suicide bomber detonated explosives near an Israeli army base. The bomber apparently was a woman, radio reports said.
"Avner! What was that, that just hit the side of the tank?"
"I think it was a bosom, Moshe."
"Oh. Another female suicide bummer. Hope nobody got hurt."
The explosion killed the attacker and wounded two people, one seriously, paramedics said. The blast went off near a base outside the West Bank town of Tulkarem, security officials said. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
That’ll come soon enough
In a setback for the new Palestinian prime minister, legislators postponed a vote on his Cabinet amid bitter disputes Thursday over its composition and size. The postponement of the Cabinet vote, which was tentatively rescheduled for Saturday, came as factions within Arafat’s Fatah movement argued over the status and size of the Cabinet.
... the shape of the table, the color of the carpet, whether to serve tea or coffee...
The chaos Thursday was considered an embarrassment for new Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei.
"I'm so embarrassed!"
Some wanted it to remain an emergency Cabinet, which would have expired in one month, while others favored confirming it with a vote in the parliament, which would turn it into a regular Cabinet, according to Palestinian legislator Hanan Ashrawi. Many of the legislators, including those who had not been included in the Cabinet, voiced objections to its small size.
"It's too small, dammit! You shoulda named me a minister, too!"
"This is a constitutional crisis," Ashrawi said.
As opposed to their normal, everyday crisis.
Things will get worse shortly, I hope...

#6  Wouldn't be at all surprised. I don't think the Al-Aqsa Martyrs would have any problem with the Gruev-Chernyshevskyian school of 'national liberation', i.e. try & ensure your 'beloved' people are as badly off as possible, makes 'em more receptive to violent revolutionary ideologies

#5  You don't think they purposefully attacked that office in order to cause more misery among the Palestinians? The terrorists want things to be as miserable as possible, to make people as angry as possible.

#4  The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a radical offshoot of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's mainstream Fatah group, is claiming responsibility for a West Bank suicide bombing. The blast, at an Israeli army checkpoint, wounded two Israelis. In a phone call to AFP, the group says one of its militants died in the attack in the northern West Bank town of Tulkarm. The group says it will release the bomber's identity later.

#3  So, of course, when the Israelis close off the Paleos from working in Israel, expect to hear about their 'seething'.

One word about the Palestinians and their leadership: S-T-U-P-I-D.

#2  update from Jpost:
"Two soliders were wounded, one seriously, in a suicide bombing at an Army base near Tulkarm, news sources reported. A Palestinian also was reported injured. One soldier received serious injuries and was taken to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. The other's injuries were reported as light.

The suicide bomber apparently was at an office at which Palestinians apply for work permits inside Israel. The office was protected, news sources reported. The suicide bombing came after a high security alert had been called this morning for the Hadera and Wadi Ara regions, and all cars were being checked. Early reports said the bomber might have been a woman, but that has since been discounted."

So, of course, when the Israelis close off the Paleos from working in Israel, expect to hear about their 'seething'....
