A Jihadi leader killed with Azam Tariq
2003-10-09
Jihadi leader Qari Zia-ur-Rehman was also killed with Maulana Azam Tariq in the Monday’s attack on his car, Daily Times learned on Wednesday. Sources said Qari Zia, who came from Balakot, had been with the maulana for three days. Qari Zia served as the secretary of Commander Baba, a famous jihadi, but later formed his own group called Tehrik Jihad-e-Islami. The body of Qari Zia was sent to his native village Shangeer yesterday.
Ghazi Baba?
However, Millat-e-Islamia Pakistan spokesman Maulana Mujeeb-ur-Rehman denied that any jihadi leader was killed with the maulana. He said a slain guard, Danyial, was from Balakot.

As you read these 2 sentences, you might assume they are related. Are they? WTF knows. PakiTimes - just following the NYT's lead, I guess.

"No, no, it's not true. You see, I have the little finger - from his left hand, I think - it landed on my doorstep a few hundred yards from the scene of the attack. I have shown it to people in Balakot and they all identified it as Danyial's. Um, does this interview include lunch? Al Guardian interviews always include lunch... for some reason I'm thinking chicken fingers..."
