| Iraqi council set to name president, cabinet |

| Iraqâs transitory 25-member Governing Council inched closer to naming its president and cabinet, members said Monday as the US-approved body concluded a crucial meeting. Shangul Shapuk, Turkmen representative on the body, said they expected to name the councilâs president Tuesday, but another council representative said the government was still trying to nail down internal procedures before making any major appointment. âWe expect the president will be named tomorrow,â said Shapuk. |
