U.S. provides guidelines for reform of Hamas
2003-07-28
Right. That'll work. But I guess they have to try...
The Bush administration has been drafting guidelines to avoid the need to dismantle Islamic insurgency groups in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. U.S. officials said the effort is meant to bolster the Palestinian Authority and its new prime minister Mahmoud Abbas while advancing an international plan to establish an interim Palestinian state by the end of 2003. The plan, termed the road map, has called for the dismantling of Palestinian groups deemed as terrorists. "It is a clearly a change in the administration's approach and is designed to move the roadmap," a U.S. official said. "The president has been briefed, but has not formally approved this as policy." U.S. officials said the State Department and National Security Council have discussed ideas that would allow Islamic insurgency movements to continue operating. They said the guidelines being drafted would distinguish between an insurgency group's political and military wings.
All they have to do is dismantle their military wings. But they won't do that. Without Armed Struggle™, they're nothing.

#6  Guidelines? Why would the Palestinians require "guidelines"? Arrest and imprison the leaders and members. When the jihadis try to retaliate, kill them. Simple as that. I can't believe that people need to be told how to do this sort of thing.

#5  a PState can only come about AFTER the other steps are taken, and to date not a single obligation/promise has been lived up to by the lying Paleoscum. In fact they've explicitly said they would not dismantle or disarm hamas, IJ, Al-Aqsa, etc. - so they've violated the first step explicitly. The map will only go on pavement placed on the paleoterror groups

#3  I just hope this is BS from a BS "news organization" I hope, I hope.
PD, I think you're a bit over the top since Bush could accomplish most of your points by being steadfast in Iraq and letting the folks in the neighborhood know that we're there until the job is done. We seem to be on the road there, in spite of our deaths. BTW, I thought the road map called for a PState by 2005. Right?

#1  Suggested Draft Guideline for dismantling "Islamic insurgency" groups:
1) Invade SyrLeb. Kill all Izzoid militants and clerics.
2) Invade Iran. Kill all Izzoid militants and clerics.
3) Kill Arafat. Oh, and that prick Erakat, too. And Zogby, don't forget this weenie - he's a dogmatic lying sack of shit, too.
4) Kill all group members in WB / Gaza - both pol and mil wings.
5) Take their children away from them and sterilize their femalians.
6) Kill all monetary contributors. Take their money. Build something useful with it, like a hospital or school or library or park.
7) Stare down Mubarek & Crown Prince Abby.

Rinse. Repeat.

Voila! That's what it will take, I think. After this, I believe the threat will be sufficiently reduced that Israel can finally enjoy some measure of peace. Tres' bon, no?
