2003-03-27 |
The European Parliament failed Thursday to reach agreement on a resolution on the Iraq crisis. The joint resolution by the Socialists, Liberals and Greens that condemned the war was rejected with 218 votes in favor, 255 against and 46 abstentions. Another resolution by the European People's Party and European Democrats was rejected with 207 votes in favor, 286 against and 28 abstentions in the 625-member EP. "Honorable members, I propose we demonstrate that we're ineffectual. All in favor... The "ayes" have it..." |
