Sharpest day of fighting so far. Those captured were surrounded by a combination of regular forces and fedayeen. A number of incidents today in which Iraqi forces pretended to surrender, then opened fire. One incident involved a white flag, with artillery opening up when the allied forces moved near. Another incident involved Iraqis in civilian clothes opening fire. Still looking for WMDs, following up on prisoner leads, but so far none. |

#1 At least some of the Iraqis are putting up some stiff resistance. Probably, any information they are getting from their HQ is of the "Americans are being killed all over the place, you should get yours" type. |
