| A top self-styled area commander of banned pro-Pakistani Lashker-e-Taiba on Wednesday surrendered before security forces in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. After holding negotiations with security forces through his relatives, LeT commander, Mustaq Ahmed on Wednesday laid down arms before security forces in order to join the national mainstream. Mustaq, who was active in Pak-sponsored militancy for last five years, was the most wanted militant in the Poonch-Rajouri belt. He had let loose reign of terror in the entire belt by resorting to attacks on civilians and security forces during the period, the sources said. The ultra surrendered along with one rifle, 120 rounds, two grenades, four magazines and a radio set, the sources added. "I'm too old for this stuff. I think I'll retire, settle down, until my old 'comrades' kidnap me and cut my head off..." |
