Five Japanese kidnapped by North Korea decades ago removed pins with pictures of North Korea's leader they have worn since their homecoming in October and announced Thursday they want to stay in Japan. Anybody who's surprised at this, raise your hand... Thought so. The five, who returned to Japan in October, previously avoided giving clear answers about their future plans. They left behind seven children and a husband in North Korea. But on Thursday, former abductee Yasushi Chimura said he and the others have decided to remain in Japan, at least for now. "Five of us have reaffirmed our decision to stay in Japan and wait for our families," Chimura said, reading from a letter addressed to Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi. "We ask to be reunited with our families as soon as possible." "Those people are all crazy. And we don't even like kimchi..." |
