WASHINGTON — A "senior Al Qaeda member" has been arrested, U.S. officials told Fox News Friday.

The officials did not reveal any details of the circumstances surrounding the arrest, including when it occurred or where the suspect was being held, but they did confirming that a senior Al Qaeda leader is "in U.S. hands."

Sources said the suspect was neither Usama bin Laden nor his number two man, Ayman Al-Zawahiri, but he is one of the "top handful of Al Qaeda leaders."

Damn! But we'll take whatever they've got.

"Someone who knows al Qaeda would know his name," one official said. "This is a big deal."

The description was deliberately vague because this is an "ongoing operation," sources told Fox News

Stocking up on candy. Gargling with salt water. Buying ammo for the AK. O.K., I'm ready for more news.

#5  I'm interested in who he is... Doesn't look like they're going to say for awhile.

#4  Word late this afternoon is that the guy is talking. I'm more interested to see if he was captured 'en route' or 'in situ', what he has to say is not nearly as interesting to me as his cellphones, phone logs, disk drives and credit card receipts.

#2  I suspect the Sauds myself, however, I wouldn't count out other not-so-friendly nations like France.

#1  Authorities said he was captured during the past week and that the man is one of the top 20 al Qaeda members sought by the U.S. government. They did say he was not Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant, Ayman al-Zawahiri, or the terrorist group's operational leader, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. Also they are trying to get him out of the country he was captured in. OK, that leads me to believe it's a not too friendly Islamic nation like Pak or Saudi. We own Afganistan so that would not be a problem. Ideas?
