| China arrests North Koreans seeking refuge |

| Chinese police have detained a group of North Koreans planning to seek refugee status in Beijing, along with a South Korean man who was helping them. Eleven people picked up at the train station in the northeastern city of Changchun on Saturday evening. The South Korean man, Kim Hee-tae, is a longtime advocate for North Koreans fleeing hunger and repression at home. The North Koreans - five men, five women, and a 15-year-old boy - had been preparing to board a train to Beijing to submit requests for refugee status. What if they gave a bloody-handed dictatorship and everybody left? |
