| Saeb: It's either Yasser or... uh... chaos... |

| Palestinian leaders used their first high-level talks with Washington since President Bush demanded the replacement of Yassir Arafat to give a warning that his departure would heighten turmoil in the Middle East. Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator, said that it was unacceptable for Mr Bush to make such demands. âWe all know that the alternative to Arafat is chaos,â he said. Ummm... Howcome we have Yasser and chaos? Where's the difference? Mr Erekat led a three-man delegation into talks in the White House with Condoleezza Rice, Mr Bushâs National Security Adviser, before meeting Colin Powell, the Secretary of State, at the State Department. Bet that was an interesting conversation... |
