350 Nepali Maoists no longer ticklish |
2002-05-04 |
Around 350 Maoist rebels have been killed during an offensive by Nepalese security forces in the west of the country. An alleged Maoist training camp at Lisne in Rolpa district was attacked by Nepalese helicopters on Thursday and Friday. This was the most devastating loss suffered by the Maoist rebels in the six years since they started their campaign to overthrow the monarchy. The assault comes about three weeks after Maoists raided three police posts in southwestern Nepal, leaving at least 164 people dead. Guess that one cheesed the government guys pretty good. This 350 probably includes the 90 who were reported iced yesterday. |
