A terrorist suicide squad stormed a heavily guarded Army transit camp at Drugmulla in North Kashmir. Two terrorists and one soldier died, while two civilians were injured. Elsewhere, at least eight militants of Hizbul Mujahideen were gunned down by the troops during 15 hours of festivities in south Kashmir. One soldier died and one was injured.
