B Raman, director of the Institute of Policy Studies, Chennai, has twice gone on record that Laden requires regular dialysis and gets it done at Pakistan's military hospital in Peshawar. Bin Laden also reportedly has a mobile dialysis machine in Afghanistan. The Times of London reports: "It would be possible, but highly undesirable, to treat bin Laden with dialysis at home, but this is time consuming and the environment of a cave would make this both difficult and potentially dangerous because of the risk of infection."
