[ResistTheManstream] Outrage is brewing in response to the FBI’s seemingly heavy-handed overreach in its raid on the home of former President Donald Trump. At 1:03 a.m. Tuesday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) called for the defunding of the FBI. Later Tuesday morning, even liberal former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) decried the action.
After the FBI’s raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida produced no results, Cuomo cautioned that the Dept. of Justice "must immediately explain" its decision or face a negative public perception, according to The Daily Wire.
Cuomo, who resigned in 2021 amid sexual harassment charges by multiple women, claims the problems that forced his resignation were politically motivated. Warning that the DOJ should not be a weaponized political force, Cuomo noted that the DOJ oversteps risks, undermining the January 6 committee’s investigation.
Cuomo tweeted: "DOJ must immediately explain the reason for its raid & it must be more than a search for inconsequential archives or it will be viewed as a political tactic and undermine any future credible investigation & legitimacy of January 6 investigations."

Perry, in an exclusive statement, told Fox News on Tuesday that while traveling with his family earlier in the day, he was approached by three FBI agents who handed him a warrant and requested that he turn over his cellphone.
The confiscation of the congressman’s personal phone comes one day after FBI agents searched former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
"This morning, while traveling with my family, 3 FBI agents visited me and seized my cell phone. They made no attempt to contact my lawyer, who would have made arrangements for them to have my phone if that was their wish. I’m outraged — though not surprised — that the FBI under the direction of Merrick Garland’s DOJ, would seize the phone of a sitting Member of Congress," Perry said in his statement. "My phone contains info about my legislative and political activities, and personal/private discussions with my wife, family, constituents, and friends. None of this is the government’s business."
Perry asserted in his statement that "as with President Trump last night, DOJ chose this unnecessary and aggressive action instead of simply contacting my attorneys. These kinds of banana republic tactics should concern every Citizen — especially considering the decision before Congress this week to hire 87,000 new IRS agents to further persecute law-abiding Citizens."
Fox News reached out to the FBI, which declined to comment on this story.
Perry, a five-term congressman and loyal Trump ally, is an original member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus and took over as the group’s leader at the beginning of the year. Perry was also a strong supporter of Trump’s repeated unproven claims that his 2020 election loss to now-President Biden was due to massive voter fraud.
Perry has been a target of interest of the Democratic dominated January 6 House select committee that is investigating the deadly 2021 attack on the Capitol by right wing extremists and other Trump supporters who aimed to disrupt the congressional certification of Biden’s Electoral College victory. Perry was in communication numerous times with the Trump White House in the days and weeks ahead of the storming of the Capitol.
Trump announced on Monday that his Florida residence had been raided by the FBI. Sources told Fox News Digital the search was in connection with materials that Trump took with him from his time as president. Sources also said National Archives and Records Administration referred the case to the Justice Department, which recovered 15 boxes of classified materials from the home.

The vice president’s 2014 encounter with Chinese energy tycoons marks the fifteenth such meeting with businessmen tied to Hunter Biden’s financial interests, and contradicts Biden’s repeated claims of never discussing business with his son, "or with anyone else." The first son is currently under federal investigation for money laundering and foreign lobbying.
Perry is also listed as a partner with Lathan & Watkins on the firm’s website while his wife runs for re-election on an anti-Trump platform ahead of the Wyoming primary next week.

I hear the FBI ordered the cameras to be turned off - but they weren't and recorded the whole event. Now the FBI is demanding the tapes be turned over to them.
If true, and I'm not saying it is - 24 hour rule, this can be very embarrassing to the FBI. Lets see how this plays out.

Progressive Rep. Ilhan Omar ...Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She was apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw on her mother's side... was poised to narrowly maintain her Congressional seat after a moderate challenger nearly pulled off an upset in the Democratic primary election for Minnesota’s 5th District on Tuesday.
With nearly 97 percent of the vote counted as of 11:00 pm, Omar led Don Samuels 50.4% to 48.2%. Just 2,500 votes separated the two candidates, but it was enough of a margin to lead major networks to call the race in Omar’s favor.
The results were sure to humble Omar though, as she had been expected to cruise to her third straight victory in the dark blue district. But Samuels, who insisted during the campaign that Omar had alienated large swaths of the public in Minneapolis and the surrounding suburbs with her hard-left stances, managed to keep the race surprisingly close.
Omar wrote on Twitter that her victory Tuesday "is a testament to how much our district believes in the collective values we are fighting for."
Little polling was done ahead of time, but a June survey from Change Research showed Omar in a commanding lead with 60% of the vote compared to Samuels’s 21%.
Perhaps accordingly, pro-Israel groups such as AIPAC chose to stay out of her race. They poured millions into the campaign of Omar’s last challenger only to see the progressive Squad member win by 20 points. But their overall success in backing more moderate Democrats who defeated progressive candidates throughout the country indicates that they could’ve played a difference maker in Tuesday’s election as well.
A 72-year-old former Minneapolis city councilman, Samuels received endorsements from the state’s largest newspaper, the Star Tribune, and from Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey ...The inept and ineffective (but I repeat myself) Dem class president mayor of Minneapolis during the George Floyd race riots. Frey issued the order for police to evacuate the Third Precinct so it could safely be burned to the ground, and has since dithered, waffled, and obfuscated on a near daily basis. The city is a Dem stronghold, so he'll probably be reelected... In a recent interview with The Times of Israel, the 72-year-old Jamaica native pointed to a proposal rejected by 56% of Minneapolis voters last November that would have seen the city’s police department replaced with a "public-health oriented" Department of Public Safety. The initiative — rejected by 78% of Black voters — was backed by Omar, who became the first Somali-American elected to Congress in 2018.
"She was out of touch with the community she was claiming to protect, and she was out of touch with the voters in general," Samuels said. "It’s reflective of a problem that she has, which caused me to run because she has alienated several groups."
He said Omar alienated the African-American community by supporting efforts to defund the police, put off construction workers over her opposition to US President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. An incredibly corrupt version of Jar-Jar Binks, only well into his dotage. Still, she became one of the first Congress members to publicly back the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions movement (BDS) targeting Israel.

Frey's endorsement of Samuels which was synchronized w endorsements of Samuels by several other mayors was made only 6 days before the primary. Many people had voted absentee by then and others missed the endorsements because of other news coverage. Had the mayors endorsed a few weeks earlier, perhaps a different result.
