#1  Apparently, Ron Johnson is forcing the bill to be read on the senate floor - all 600+ pages, because most don't/can't read the legislation before them.

#2  This bill is pure Dem pork. Something like 9% is for COVID relief. Glad Sen. Johnson is forcing the reading of the bill.

#3  We need a rule requiring whoever inserted the pork to have their name publicly attached for ridicule and shame (if they can feel any)

#4  And it will pass the same way - with the VPs tie-breaking vote.

#5  The purpose of the Senate has from the beginning been to prevent emotional claptrap from becoming law, or at least reduce the amount of it. Hopefully that’ll happen this time.

NYC to publish massive trove of NYPD misconduct complaints
[NYPOST] A massive trove of disciplinary records on NYPD police officers is expected to be made public on Thursday.

The digital database is expected to include all misconduct complaints from the Civilian Complaint Review Board against all current officers and their dispositions.

A CCRB source told The Post it was slated to go live by the early afternoon.

Mayor Bill de Blasio confirmed during his daily press conference the database would be public by the end of this week following a final clarification by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, lifting the stay on the records late Wednesday.

De Blasio announced the publication of the database last June following the repeal of the state secrecy law 50a, but the project was stalled due to a months-long court battle with the police unions.

The legal challenge ended last month when a federal panel of three appeals judges ruled the unions’ arguments were “without merit.”

During that process, the NYCLU obtained and published its own searchable database with 323,911 “unique complaint records” involving nearly 82,000 active and former cops.

Andrew Cuomo's insulting 'bumbling man' defense
[NYPOST] After eight days in his hidey-hole, three women having credibly accused him of sexual harassment, Governor Cuomo emerged wide-eyed and teary, hand splayed against heart, offering this line of defense:I had no idea.

How insulting. How specious. Cynical to the point of camp.

If only there was something like, I don’t know, a widely-circulated photo of a grinning Cuomo with his hands on either side of one young accuser’s grimacing face, her expression clearly telegraphing please-stop-let-me-go, that could have communicated such resistance to the governor.

Scripted line from Cuomo’s presser yesterday, repeated for emphasis: "I never knew at the time that I was making anyone feel uncomfortable."

Who are you going to believe? Andrew Sonny Cuomo or your lying eyes?

I had no idea has become the last refuge of the scoundrel. It’s the go-to response in every crisis manager’s playbook, a one-size-fits-all explanation for every sexual harasser who otherwise cannot defend nor deny his behavior.

It’s doubly diabolical for its sexist subtext: "Calm down, ladies. Let’s not get hysterical."
Right. Because when women get upset, by default we’re being illogical. Our emotions automatically override cognitive function.

And so it’s left to these poor men, ever beleaguered by us women with our standards and self-worth, to explain that sexual harassment isn’t so bad. Just let these men learn from their mistakes in peace. Consequences aren’t necessary.

This is nothing short of gaslighting. It’s blaming women for having the absolute morally and legally correct reaction: Sexual harassment is wrong. Full stop.

Keith Olbermann slammed for saying Texas shouldn't get COVID vaccine
[NYPOST] Left-wing political pundit Keith Olbermann is drawing heat again, this time after he said that Texas shouldn’t get the COVID-19 vaccine. In response to a tweet from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott
... governor of Texas. Abbott is a Republican. His 2014 Dem opponent, state senatrix Wendy Davis, thought the absolute, most pressing, most important issue facing the state was abortion. Abbott beat the pantyhose off her. His 2018 opponent, Lupe Valdez didn't dwell too heavily on abortion, but she lost too...
, who announced the end of the state’s mask mandate, Olbermann tweeted: "Why are we wasting vaccinations on Texas if Texas has decided to join the side of the virus?"

The tweet sparked a pile-on across the Twittersphere, with people from both sides of the aisle chastising the former ESPN and MSNBC talking head.

"Ah yes millions should be left to suffer and die because their Governor (who they are already trying to oust) is a festering pile of feces...or...or hear me out...we could support the communities he plans to sacrifice," tweeted writer Mikki Kendall.

"I just think it’s wrong to make gross generalizations about the lives and potential deaths of an entire population. It is mean-spirited and unhelpful on every front," wrote a Dallas Morning News news hound, Evan Grant.

Brandon Friedman, a former B.O. regime official, kept it short, writing, "Delete this, Keith," while Daily Beast editor-at-large Molly Jong-Fast tweeted: "People deserve to stay safe and healthy no matter who they voted for."

#6  Pfizer tags 3 U.S. manufacturing sites for possible COVID-19 vaccine launch May 7, 2020
Global coronavirus vaccine makers have been rolling out details about their manufacturing and launch plans—even ahead of any clinical data. Now, Pfizer says it will draw on three sites in the U.S., plus one in Belgium, for the early stages of a launch, provided its BioNTech-partnered shot wins a green light.

Pfizer plans to draw on sites in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Andover, Massachusetts, as well as St. Louis for the early stages of its mRNA vaccine ramp-up. The company is in human testing with four candidates alongside partner BioNTech, which will supply doses for clinical testing.

The company plans raw material manufacturing in St. Louis and drug substance manufacturing in Andover. The Kalamazoo site is slated to handle formulation and filling.

Gov. Cuomo reportedly 'groomed' ex-aide for sex, 'derailed' her career
One of Gov. Andrew Sonny Cuomo’s accusers believes he "groomed her" for sex — and her lawyer says he "derailed" the young woman’s career, according to reports Thursday.

Charlotte Bennett, 25, spoke to the "CBS Evening News" for an interview set to air Thursday night and anchor Norah O’Donnell previewed her remarks in a video clip posted on Twitter.

Bennett, a former Cuomo aide, detailed the "shocking questions" that Cuomo, 63, allegedly "asked her about her sex life," including whether "she had sex with older men," O’Donnell said.

Cuomo also allegedly "told her he was lonely."

"She talks about how she believes that Gov. Cuomo groomed her," O’Donnell said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's other gun out of his other hand......
Bennett’s lawyer, Debra Katz, told CBS News that the alleged sexual harassment "derailed her career."

Bennett left the Cuomo administration in November and now works as director of operations for Primary Maternity Care, according to her resume on the LinkedIn website.

Well, OK... Remembering then that death awaits you, politically, socially, economically and spiritually, you are hereby condemned to live a very long life, with none of what you have done heretofore will ever be forgotten.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Sherman Promises New Approach to Iran, Says Facts on Ground Have Changed
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Nominee for US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman stressed the importance of addressing Iran's nuclear ambitions, its support for terrorism and human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
violations.

Speaking at her Senate Foreign Relations Committee confirmation hearing on Wednesday, Sherman promised a new approach to Iran.

"With respect to Iran, as the lead of the US negotiating team for the JCPOA, I remain clear-eyed about the threat that Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
poses to our interests and those of our allies," Sherman said in her opening remarks.

She went on saying that the approach of the new administration must "be decided on the merits of where we are today," not nostalgia for what might have been.

The world had changed since 2016, when the deal was implemented, stressed Sherman.

"The facts on the ground have changed, the geopolitics of the region have changed, and the way forward must similarly change," she noted.

Sherman said she did not know what the administration’s ultimate Iran policy would be, but stressed that Biden was determined not to let Iran obtain a nuclear weapon.

"Iran is a long way from compliance (with the nuclear agreement), as we well know," she said.

For his part, Senator Jim Risch, the panel’s top Republican, also called for bipartisan policy and said he opposed a return to the nuclear pact.

He stressed that Iran was testing the Biden administration, saying that Tehran should not be trusted.

Government
The Gravy Train is Rolling in
[HotAir] Last month, union boss Everett Kelley, the president of the American Federation of Government Employees, sent out a self-congratulatory memo to all of his members celebrating the election of Joe Biden and the return of Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate. But rather than just taking a victory lap, he cautioned union members to not "pat ourselves on the back" because "windows of opportunity rarely stay open for long." He warned them that there may be only two years to undo the "damage" (translation: ’progress’) that Donald Trump made in curbing abusive union practices in the federal government.
Pay-off for supporting China Joe. The working stiffs get left in the cold.
It looks like the AFGE has gotten their message through to the White House and Democrats in Congress. Tucked into the COVID relief bill currently being jammed through the legislative process are some huge perks for federal workers. One of the more eye-popping ones is a provision mandating fifteen weeks (!) of automatic paid leave above and beyond the normal, generous amounts of paid time off workers receive, for anyone "affected" by the pandemic. For those without a napkin and a pencil handy to do the math, that works out to nearly a third of the entire working year.

Texas power grid CEO Bill Magness fired after deadly blackouts during storm
[NYPOST] The president and CEO of the Texas power grid has been fired after mounting calls for his ouster following the deadly blackouts that left millions of people without electricity and heat for days in subfreezing temperatureBill Magness was given a two-month termination notice Wednesday by the board of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, a cooperative responsible for 90 percent of the state’s electricity.

On Monday, the state’s top utility regulator resigned in the wake of the one of the worst blackouts in US history.

"During this transition period, Bill will continue to serve as President and CEO and work with state leaders and regulators on potential reforms to ERCOT," the organization said in a statement.

Magness — who made over $876,000 in salary and other compensation in 2019 — was slammed amid the blackouts that began Feb. 15 when a winter storm dropped temperatures into single digits, causing skyrocketing demand for power to heat homes.

Grid operators disconnected more than 4 million customers as the system buckled, which Magness has said was necessary to avert an even greater catastrophic blackout that could have lasted months.
