'You just made the connection': Top senator asked if FBI investigated child pornography on Hunter Biden's laptop
[Washington Examiner] A top Republican senator acknowledged the possibility that the FBI investigated whether there was child pornography on a laptop and hard drive that allegedly belonged to Hunter Biden.

Journalist Maria Bartiromo asked Sen. Ron Johnson, the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, about a Business Insider report that described faint handwriting on a subpoena served last year to a Delaware business that was given a water-damaged MacBook Pro to repair but was never retrieved and a hard drive with its contents. The hardware purportedly contained data about foreign business dealings and other matters related to the son of former Vice President Joe Biden.

The subpoena appeared to show the FBI agent who served it was someone named "Joshua Wilson." There was a Joshua Wilson, according to a Star-Ledger report published last year, who was an FBI agent based in New Jersey who spent nearly five years investigating child pornography, but it remains unclear if this is the same Wilson and what exactly the bureau was investigating.

Does this explain why Facebook suppressed Hunter Biden revelations?
[American Thinker] The moment the New York Post reported on some of the sleazy, corrupt details contained on Hunter Biden’s hard drive, Twitter and Facebook, the social media giants most closely connected to the way Americans exchange political information, went into overdrive to suppress the information and protect Joe Biden. In the case of Facebook, though, perhaps one of those protectors was, in fact, protecting herself.

The person currently in charge of Facebook’s election integrity program is Anna Makanju. That name probably doesn’t mean a lot to you, but it should mean a lot — and in a comforting way -- to Joe Biden.

Before ending up at Facebook, Makanju was a nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council. The Atlantic Council is an ostensibly non-partisan think tank that deals with international affairs. In fact, it’s a decidedly partisan organization.

Cyber
Twitter Removes Post by Other White House COVID Adviser Regarding Masks
[EpochTimes] Twitter removed a post from White House pandemic task force member Dr. Scott Atlas, accusing him of violating its policy about "misleading information."

A spokesperson for the company confirmed to CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
on Oct. 18 that the post was removed. According to the spokesperson, the Twitter policy that Atlas allegedly violated prohibits sharing false or misleading content related to the pandemic.

"Masks work? NO: LA, Miami, Hawaii, Alabama, La Belle France, Philippines, UK, Spain, Israel. WHO: ’widesprd use not supported’ + many harms; Heneghan/Oxf CEBM:"despite decades, considerble uncertainty re value’; CDC rvw May:’no sig red’n in inflnz transm’n’; learn why," Atlas wrote in the now-deleted post on Oct. 17. It had information about the effectiveness of masks amid the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus pandemic.

The post, which no longer appeared on the site as of Oct. 18, was replaced with a note that reads, "This Tweet is no longer available because it violated the Twitter Rules. Learn more."

Twitter didn’t immediately respond to a request by The Epoch Times for comment.

Atlas also wrote on Oct. 17 that "the right policy is [President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s] guideline" to "use masks for their intended purpose—when close to others, especially hi risk. Otherwise, social distance. No widespread mandates."

Adm. Brett Giroir, assistant secretary for health at the Department of Health and Human Services, and the head of the Trump administration’s testing response appeared to issue a response to Atlas.

"#Masks work? YES!" he wrote on Oct. 17.

"And even though cases/hospitalizations are increasing, we can control #COVID19 by wearing masks when we can’t distance, avoiding crowds especially indoors, good hygiene, and smart testing of contacts and to identify/isolate those asymptomatic but infectious," he added.

The move from Twitter follows several controversial attempts from the social media giant this week to limit or block the spread of reports about Hunter Biden, Democratic nominee Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...Candidate for president in 2020. When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'...
’s son, and their family’s alleged business ties to Ukraine and China. At one point last week, Twitter locked the accounts of Trump’s reelection campaign and White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany after they shared links to the New York Post article containing the allegations or any references to them.

That prompted the Senate Judiciary Committee to announce it will vote to subpoena Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey about alleged election interference in support of Biden’s campaign.

A day later, the Republican National Committee filed a Federal Election Commission complaint against Twitter and Dorsey, claiming that online censorship of the Post’s article about Hunter Biden’s business dealings is an "illegal corporate in-kind political contribution" to Biden’s campaign.

The committee said that it "believes that Twitter has violated [the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act] and the Commission’s Regulations by making corporate in-kind contributions to Biden for President," according to the complaint. Fox News first reported on the filing on Oct. 16.

Trump and other Republican politicians have suggested that under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, Twitter should be considered a publisher and therefore, subject to lawsuits.

Biden’s campaign and Hunter Biden’s lawyer issued denials following the N.Y. Post’s reporting.

#2  It doesn't surprise me in the least that Twitter is deciding what the facts are allowed to be now. These people are insane.

I have a totally TDS-infected colleague at work, and it is really quite amazing. Any facts that emerge from any source that don't align with their personal "narrative" are dismissed or maligned (even stuff that has nothing to do with politics at all, purely work discussions end up with them dismissing evidence or refusing to admit fault). It is startling to watch somebody censor their own brain in real time.

But it makes me ever more sure that some of these liberals won't be acknowledging anything that disrupts their narrative in the near future. Reality has no place in their minds.

#4  Another media whore busted: The New Yorker's Jeffrey Toobin. From (of course) something called "VICE Magazine":

The New Yorker has suspended [legal affairs] reporter Jeffrey Toobin for ma$tur bating on a Zoom video chat between members of the New Yorker and WNYC radio last week.

...Two people who were on the call told VICE separately that the call was an election simulation featuring many of the New Yorker's biggest stars: Jane Mayer was playing establishment Republicans; Evan Osnos was Joe Biden, Jelani Cobb was establishment Democrats, Masha Gessen played Donald Trump, Andrew Marantz was the far right, Sue Halpern was left wing democrats, Dexter Filkins was the military, and Jeffrey Toobin playing the courts. There were also a handful of other producers on the call from the New Yorker and WNYC.

Both people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity in order to speak freely, noted that it was unclear how much each person saw, but both said that they saw Toobin jerk ing off.

Sounds like Toobin was doing exactly what would you'd expect from "media stars" aka self-adoring retarded buffoons engaged in "an election simulation."

He should have been promoted, not fired, to a new post at The New Yorker. Maybe VICE-President of Editorial & Ma$tur bation

#5  I don't think the deficit matters anymore, simply because the debt is too big to ever pay back. And yeah, combat veterans don't get automatic ups, but no group should, to be honest. Look at what they're actually proposing. No matter their background, a Democrat running for office is usually running on social justice and socialism. Then figure that the majority of those who aren't can be guilted or backstabbed into cooperating with those ideologies. Mileage may vary by region and state (but generally not for Senate seats).

Portland protests drive powerful Dem's Oregon district toward young Republican rival
Another race to watch.
[FoxNews] In the regularly blue state of Oregon, voters in a purple district near the city of Portland are turning away from long-term Democratic incumbent Rep. Peter DeFazio in favor of a young Republican challenger.

Army veteran Alek Skarlatos, 27, gained international fame for halting an turban attack aboard a Gay Paree-bound train in 2015.
His adventures, along with two friends, are described here. There was also an Englishman and a Frenchman or two who courageously involved themselves, as reported in subsequent articles on the subject. Genuine WoT heroes, all.
He's also one of House Republicans' best recruits this year, outraising DeFazio by $1.2 million and outspending him by over $900,000 in the most recent quarter.

Government
Lax Online Security Appears to Allow Cancelling Other Voters’ Mail-in Ballots in Some States
[EpochTimes] Election security in some states is so lax that people can spy on other people’s mail-in ballot process and possibly even cancel their ballots with only basic personal information easily obtained online.

The online voter portal for Washington State only requires the name and date of birth of a voter for a login. Dates of birth are a matter of public record for many people, either through social media, government and court documents, or Wikipedia pages, not to mention millions of hacked personal records available for sale on the darkweb.

Upon login, a person can view the voter’s registration information and other details, including the registered address and ballot status. The portal also allows voters to request a new ballot, which the person can fill out online, print out, and mail to the election authorities to vote. The ballot package needs to be signed and the signature would be matched by the authorities to the one they have on record.

However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
the page warns that "if you continue, a ballot previously mailed to you will be cancelled," suggesting that somebody can log in and cancel another person’s ballot by requesting a new one.

The office of the Washington secretary of state didn’t respond to a request for comment.

OREGON
A similar issue appears to apply to Oregon, where the voter portal also only requires a name and date of birth for a login. The portal allows the voter to fill out the ballot online, print it, and submit it to election authorities, an Oregon voter contacted by The Epoch Times confirmed. The page says the option is only available to military, overseas, or disabled voters, but there doesn’t seem to be any verification that would prevent other voters from using it and thus potentially invalidate any other ballot they were previously issued.

The office of the Oregon secretary of state didn’t respond to a request for comment. The Oregon voter portal appeared to be shut down for maintenance on Oct. 18 for several hours.

Underscoring the potency of the vulnerability, in November 2019, a laptop belonging to a medical contractor that had the personal information of more than 650,000 Oregon residents was stolen. The data included names, social security numbers, as well as "phone numbers, dates of birth and Medicaid ID numbers," The Oregonian reported.

Both Washington and Oregon hold all-mail elections, meaning ballots are automatically mailed to all registered voters before every election.

The problem with the online voter portals was first spotted by users of anonymous discussion board "Politically Incorrect" on 4chan.org. The board is known for robust open-source research as well as online pranks and offensive posts.

New Data Analysis Finds 353 Counties With 1.8 Million More Registered Voters Than Eligible Citizens
Thanks to Judicial Watch, that’s nineteen fewer counties with ghost voters than a year ago, so that’s something.
[EpochTimes] A total of 353 counties in 29 U.S. states have 1.8 million more registered voters than eligible voting-age citizens, according to an analysis by Judicial Watch.

In addition, eight states, including Alaska, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont, were found to have statewide registered voter totals that exceeded 100 percent of eligible voters, according to the nonprofit government watchdog.

Judicial Watch compared the registration data available for 37 states with the U.S. Census Bureau’s most recently available American Community Survey (ACS) numbers for the period 2014—2018 on a county-by-county basis.

"This new study shows 1.8 million excess, or ’ghost’ voters, in 353 counties across 29 states," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton in a statement announcing the study Oct. 16. "This data highlights the recklessness of mailing blindly ballots and ballot applications to voter registration lists. Dirty voting rolls can mean dirty elections."

The nonprofit said its study "is necessarily limited to 37 states that post regular updates to their registration data. Certain state voter registration lists may also be even larger than reported, because they may have excluded ’inactive voters’ from their data."

"Inactive voters, who may have moved elsewhere, are still registered voters and may show up and vote on election day and/or request mail-in ballots."

In a similar study last year by Judicial Watch, 372 counties were found to have more registered voters than those eligible to vote. The ACS data in that analysis covered the period 2013—2017.

States are required under a federal law approved in 1993 to make all reasonable efforts to maintain updated voter registration rolls, but enforcement of the statute was almost nonexistent until recent years when Judicial Watch began suing individual states.

Earlier this month, for example, Judicial Watch sued Colorado seeking to force it to clean up its registration rolls. At least 42 of Colorado’s 60 counties have more registered voters than eligible citizens, according to the latest Judicial Watch analysis. Denver County’s registered voter total equals 103 percent.

The nonprofit sued Illinois in federal court in September seeking to obtain registration data the state has refused to make available, a violation of the 1993 law.

The Supreme Court in 2018 upheld a Judicial Watch settlement with Ohio in which that state agreed to a cleanup program of the registration rolls.

A settlement last year of a Judicial Watch suit against Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, resulted in Los Angeles County officials agreeing to actions that could result in the removal of 1.5 million inactive voters.

The results of the Judicial Watch analysis come as the nation nears the end of the 2020 campaign, which has been marked by massive efforts by Democratic state and local officials, encouraged by colleagues in Congress, to use mail-in ballots as widely as possible.

#6  I remember when I worked on an election system for LA county. The head of the department said he had moved from LA to orange county 4 years earlier but was still on LA's voter list. In theory he could vote during work, then go home and vote in orange count.

No one would ever know.
