FBI recorded Trump questions on Russia during first counterintelligence briefing
An FBI agent who was secretly inserted into Donald Trump's first counterintelligence briefing in August 2016 to gather evidence of Russia collusion recorded the specific questions the future president was asking intelligence officials as well as sizing up national security adviser Michael Flynn's behavior, according to a memo declassified and made public Thursday.

"Trump asked the following question, 'Joe, are the Russians bad? Because they have more numbers are they worse than the Chinese?'" Agent Joseph Pientka wrote in his summary memo of the briefing with then-candidate Trump. "Writer responded by saying both countries are bad. The numbers of IOs present in the U.S. is not an indicator of the severity of the threat. Writer reminded Trump the Chinese asymmetrical presence in the U.S."
Golly, the question really wasn't posed the way Swallowell made it out to be in his recent interview with Martha MacCallum. Somehow, I'm not surprised.
The extraordinary notes confirm information first divulged last December by the Justice Department inspector general that the Comey FBI used the August 2016 briefing as a way of sizing up then-candidate Trump and Flynn in the Russia case and gathering evidence against them.

Memos associated with the meeting show since-fired Agent Peter Strzok and departed FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith were involved in approving the effort by Pientka to use the briefing as an investigative tool instead of just an educational baseline intelligence meeting. Clinesmith was accused in the IG report of altering a key document in the Russia case and has left the bureau, though he has not been charged with wrongdoing.
Hopefully that will change soon.
Pientka's summary memo of the briefing shows the extent to which the FBI was gathering or seeking evidence against Trump and Flynn and likely will bolster claims by Republicans that the bureau was "spying" on Trump when it should have been giving the future president a defensive briefing about Russians seeking influence in the United States.

Some of the observations recorded in the memo seemed to be of little or no investigative value. For instance, after Pientka discussed a matter involving signal intelligence, he recorded verbatim Flynn's response and Trump's mention of his youngest son.

"At this time, Flynn interjected, 'I did SIGINT.' Writer responded that he could then appreciate what our country can do technically to exploit a Tier 1 target and we must extrapolate a Foreign Intelligence Service could do the same to us. Trump then stated, 'Yes I understand it's a dark time. Nothing is safe on computers anymore,'" the memo stated.

"'My son is ten years old. He has a computer and we put a codeword on it. Within ten minutes he broke the codeword and we needed to put another one on the computer. Kids are genius,'" the memo quoted Trump as saying.
Interesting. I haven't heard anyone talking about Barron having special needs for a while, either.

Rep. Swalwell on new information showing FBI spied on Trump: 'They were right to do it'
Gotta admire the guy's ability to remain laser-focused on ignoring reason and the results of pains-taking investigations all while maintaining a straight face. I can't decide whether pencil neck, Pelousi, Cryin' Chuck or toots here is best at this.
Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., reacted to the revelation that an FBI agent involved in the "Crossfire Hurricane" Russia investigation "actively listened" for certain topics during a briefing on election interference given to the Trump campaign in August 2016, saying "they were right to do it."
Well, he reacted to something anyway.
"I hope they do it if a Democratic candidate ever does that with any country," Swalwell said Friday on "The Story with Martha MacCallum." "So, Martha, remember right before this meeting occurred, candidate Trump said, 'Russia, if you're listening, I hope you have Hillary's emails.' And what do they do? They actually did it. So think about it."
Kinda makes the FBI look like a pack of fools for not being able to hack into an already offline server, doesn't it?
And speaking of investigating Dems colluding with Russians, I have a couple of ideas for you, one of whom is hiding in a basement being used as an excuse for the Dems to delay their choice of their de facto candidate for president until right before the election, which kinda makes it hard to vet them rationally.

Fox News obtained a document that reflects type-written notes by FBI agent Joe Pientka after an August 17, 2016 briefing to then-candidate Donald Trump, Michael Flynn and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie "in support of ODNI briefings provided to U.S. Presidential candidates and two of their advisors."

The briefing, which was held at the FBI's New York Field Office, also included a "13-minute defensive briefing" delivered by Pientka. The document states that FBI officials Kevin Clinesmith and Peter Strzok "approved" Pientka's notes.

Swalwell slammed Trump and accused the president of lying about being briefed.
Personal note: I don't know what this is about. Did Trump deny he was briefed on something? Did he say he was briefed on something that he wasn't briefed on? What was the "briefing" about? Was it planted info or something that Trump didn't believe?
"By the way, he says in the meeting, 'Joe, are the Russians bad?' It's like, yes, the Russians are bad and don't eat glue," Swalwell said. "Like, should we even have to tell you that? ... He told the country for years, but he was never given this briefing."
Huh? I thought above they were talking about briefing notes, but now Swallowell is claiming he wasn't briefed. Am I insane? Is the writing messed up? Is Swallowell mixing things up?
MacCallum pressed Swalwell who, stuck to beliefs that Trump conspired with Russia.
Kinda hard to rip the foundation out from under your house and still live in it, I guess.
"So President Trump was under investigation. Jim Comey said he was not. He said that to Congress under oath," MacCallum said to Swalwell. "So the president was indeed under investigation."

"What would you want a counterintelligence official to do when the president is asking the Russians to hack and they're actually hacking," Swalwell said. "I hope they look into him. I hope if Joe Biden was doing this with any other foreign country that is seeking to influence our elections that the FBI would look into it, thankfully they did not but that's kind of their job."
A little Freudian slip there.
MacCallum continued to press on the new information, saying Trump was not aware of the briefing, only for Swalwell to defend the actions of the FBI.
I wonder what his tune would be if he were the unknowing target of such an investigation.
"He's given pictures and graphs now because he doesn't have the attention span to listen," the congressman said.
Is that what the political cartoon you saw said? And as a person who likes pictures and graphs, aka data, eff you too, you self-righteous, superior moron.

FDNY official defends excluding famed 9/11 firefighter from procession for being white
[NYPOST] A top FDNY official says it’s "most definitely" acceptable to exclude a white firefighter from a ceremonial unit based solely on his skin color, The Post has learned.
Oh, yassss. Most definitely acceptable!
Cecilia Loving, the department’s chief diversity and inclusion officer, is defending a decision to kick Lt. Daniel McWilliams — one of three firefighters in the iconic 9/11 Ground Zero flag-raising photo — off a color-guard procession so it would be all-black.
Y'see, it would also have been perfectly acceptable to kick all the colored guys off the color guard so it'd be all-white. Right?
Loving testified at a state Divsion of Human Rights trial on McWilliam’s complaint that he was the victim of racial bias.
Oh, of course he wasn't. Not for a decision based solely on his skin color... Was he?
When McWilliams showed up at a 2017 memorial mass to honor deceased members of the Vulcan Society, a fraternal group of black FDNY firefighters, he was barred from holding a flag in the color guard.
Because he wasn't a firefighter, right? No, wait. He was.
Regina Wilson, then Vulcan Society president, asked McWilliams to "help in a different capacity" because he is not black.
That was when he offered to fry up the chicken? No?
Loving, who is black, testified there is nothing wrong with that.
No, no! Certainly not! Surely if there had been a black firefighter show up at a ceremony for a society of white firefighters... There is such a thing, right?
"So, a request for an all-black color guard is not discriminatory?" McWilliam’s lawyer, Keith Sullivan, asked in the trial.
... trying not to snicker...
"No, it isn’t," Loving replied.
Then her lips fell off.
Asked if it’s acceptable to request an all-black color guard, she said, "Most definitely."
Is it acceptable to request an all-white color guard?
Loving said it’s okay to replace a white member with an African-American to "uplift our identities and our separate ethnicities in order to instill a sense of pride and community and support for one another."
Sure. Makes sense. Separate but equal color guards. And make sure they don't mix.

White firefighter Lt. Daniel McWilliams filed the lawsuit claiming racial bias
The lawsuit involves a 2017 incident that took place at a FDNY memorial mass honoring deceased members of a fraternal society of black firefighters.

#5  From Instaprof today -

“A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 75% of American Adults think the term ‘racism’ refers to any discrimination by people of one race against another.” “Just 15% say it refers only to discrimination by white people against minorities. These findings have changed little in surveys for the past several years…. Eighteen percent (18%) say most white Americans are racist. But 25% believe most black Americans are racist.”
