Fifth Column
Still watching FauxNews?
[ZH] Fox News abruptly cut away from Friday's White House press briefing after Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany played a video of the ongoing riots in Portland, Oregon.

"We were not expecting that video," said Fox host Harris Faulkner, adding "Our management here at Fox News has decided we will pull away from that at this time."

Any chance they'll explain why?

#2  That video was industrial strength truth. Saw lady telling cops that she hopes he will die, kids chanting “f- ck the police. It was something that EVERYONE should see. Then the Kaleigh Macanany Video of press conference was shut down by Fox News. It was shocking. WTF?

I've been catching Newsmax lately. Pete Hegseth grew up just east of our cabin (Forest Lake). He's on a fraud talk show (1130 am) here about once a week. The screening hostess refuses to take questions to him or Rep Emmer...

#8  I'll watch Tucker and Hannity, maybe Laura for a little bit, but that's it. What finally sealed it for me is the constant non-stop 24/7 Chink Virus Covid-19 panic pr0n coverage.

#9  Pretty much same here, but I run out of gas once Hannity comes on (and Ingrahm) as it's just the same old stuff. But Tucker is a for-sure.

And, is that all Fox people do is write/promote books? Hannity, Gutfeld...might be one or two more. Come on....

#13  The drift leftward is obvious and this incident merely pinpointed a moment that makes that drift apparent. My wife just shared a friends Facebook posting that claimed the entire Portland insurrection was only 4 blocks square and peaceful in response to brutal federal law enforcement tactics. The revolutionary minds behind this sedition want to control what the uninformed Americans see through social media and the MSM to frame the idea of peaceful exercise of the first amendment finally being crushed by fascism directed by Trump the evil dictator. The entire election strategy of the democrat party is about voting against Trump and chaos and a return to the soft comfort of peaceful tranquility under Obamaworld part 3. Of course, what follows will be the workers paradise of East Germany.

Ilhan Omar criticized for mailer that names solely Jewish donors
[Jpost] Rep. Ilhan Omar
...Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She was apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw on her mother's side...
has come under fire for a campaign mailer that names three donors to her Democratic primary opponent, and they are all Jewish.

Rep. Ilhan Omar has come under fire for a campaign mailer that names three donors to her Democratic primary opponent, and they are all Jewish."Can We Trust Antone Melton-Meaux’s Money?" said the mailer obtained by Vice News, which posted a story on Thursday.

The flyer features quotes that have appeared in national media from people outside the Minnesota congressional district who are giving to Melton-Meaux, Omar’s challenger in the Democratic primary on Aug. 11. It also cites others.

Among those mentioned are billionaires Seth Klarman, a hedge fund executive, and Jonathan Gray, president of the Blackstone Group private equity firm. Those quoted include Stanley Weinstein, a retired real estate executive from Miami Beach, and someone named Michael of Scarsdale, New York.

Rabbi Avi Olitzky of St. Louis Park, a Minneapolis suburb, who has defended Omar against previous claims that she is anti-Semitic, told Vice News he was "beyond dismayed."

"Most disappointing were the presence of tropes that we’d personally discussed as hurtful, as offensive, and that I received a commitment not only would it not happen again but education would take place to learn more as to why it’s a problem," said Olitzky, who had met with Omar last year after she was criticized for a number of statements in which she imputed undue influence to pro-Israel groups. She apologized for some but not all of her remarks.

Omar is leading in the only known poll by double digits, but Melton-Meaux has outraised the incumbent: $3.2 million to less than $500,000 in the last quarter. The challenger, a lawyer, is drawing support from pro-Israel donors. Omar is one of two representatives in Congress who back the boycott Israel movement; the other is Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich.

Trump, GOP ally vow Confederate base names won't change
[Al Ahram] President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
and a top Senate Republican are pushing Congress to preserve the names of military bases that honor Confederate generals, even though the House and Senate have overwhelmingly approved bills that rename them.

Trump said in a tweet Friday that he had spoken to Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe, the Republican chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, ``who has informed me that he WILL NOT be changing the names of our great Military Bases and Forts, places from which we won two World Wars (and more!).?

Like him, Inhofe "is not a believer in 'Cancel Culture,' " Trump said.

Inhofe, a staunch conservative and close Trump ally, also opposes the name change, even though he led Senate approval of the defense bill that would mandate name changes at Fort Bragg, Fort Benning and other Army posts named for Confederate generals.

Inhofe told The Oklahoman newspaper that he spoke with Trump on Thursday about the base names, adding: "We're going to see to it that provision doesn't survive the bill. I'm not going to say how at this point."

Defense policy bills approved by both the House and Senate would change the names of 10 Army posts that honor Confederate leaders. The two versions must be reconciled, but both bills were approved by veto-proof margins this week.

#1  Fools. Bragg was probably more effective to the Union cause than any of the many other competent rebel generals like Longstreet or Joe Johnston. A model of political influence in selection over competency.

#4  Use an Adult Democratic Process instead of this petulant whinging. State Legislature where the base resides petitions Congress to change the name... see, isn't that simple? The State's representatives in both houses of Congress then propose a bill. But that is too ... Adult.

Meet Steele Dossier's 'Primary Subsource': Fabulist Russian at Democrat Think Tank Whose Boozy Past the FBI Ignored
Brookings Institute : Hive
[RCI via AOSHQ] The mysterious "Primary Subsource" that Christopher Steele has long hidden behind to defend his discredited Trump-Russia dossier is former Brookings Institution analyst -- Igor "Iggy" Danchenko, a Russian national whose past includes criminal convictions and other personal baggage ignored by the FBI in vetting him and the information he fed to Steele, according to congressional sources and records obtained by RealClearInvestigations. Agents continued to use the dossier as grounds to investigate President Trump and put his advisers under counter-espionage surveillance.

The 42-year-old Danchenko, who was hired by Steele in 2016 to deploy a network of sources to dig up dirt on Trump and Russia for the Hillary Clinton campaign, was arrested, jailed and convicted years earlier on multiple public drunkenness and disorderly conduct charges in the Washington area and ordered to undergo substance-abuse and mental-health counseling, according to criminal records.

It's unsuccessful clash with India. The covid induced breaks in supply chains. The hostility of all their neighbors. The fact that Japan pays firms to relocate from China.
