Another DOE-Backed Solar Company Goes Bankrupt
A solar company that got a multi-million-dollar grant from the Department of Energy earlier this year announced Wednesday that it will file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, making it the second taxpayer-backed green energy company to file for bankruptcy this week. Satcon Technology Corp. announced the decision in a Wednesday news release.

B.O. spent $11 for every $7 revenue
In the wake of the Treasury Department's newly released summary of federal spending for 2012, it's now possible to detail just how profligate the Obama years have been. Here's the upshot: Under Obama, for every $7 we've had, we've spent nearly $11 (or, to be more exact, $10.95). That's like a family that makes $70,000 a year -- and is already knee-deep in debt -- blowing nearly $110,000 a year.

To illustrate this a bit differently, for every Jackson ($20) we've had available to spend under Obama, we've also borrowed a Hamilton ($10) and a Washington ($1) and spent those too. The only thing is that, under Obama, we've (literally) spent the equivalent of 342 billion Jacksons, 342 billion Hamiltons, and 342 billion Washingtons -- borrowing all of the Hamiltons and Washingtons.

#4  Spending $11 bucks for every $7 revenue? That is the essence of Champ's economic problems? Better also take a look at the deficit too, the impact of future commitments, and the growth of entitlements, welfare, and the interest on the debt. Taxmageddon hits in January and ObamaCare in 2014. All those people who voted for the "O" better take another look at the cost of voting for him. There is no free stuff only the shuffling around of who pays the bill. We cannot afford the economy we have.

#6  a look at the deficit too, the impact of future commitments, and the growth of entitlements, welfare, and the interest on the debt
All of that is part of spending $11 for every $7 received in revenue, these issues are one and the same.
Solving US financial profligacy is very much like achieving 'victory' in Afghanistan -- no easy way out and there will be a great deal of kicking, screaming and foot-dragging no matter what is done or who has to do it.

Great moments in media: Major network host challenges candidate’s son to a fistfight
Major network? It’s difficult to remember sometimes, but MSNBC is a part of NBC News and not an arm of Ringling Brothers. However, the clowns do come out at night, and Larry O’Donnell led the parade last night with one of the more ridiculous demonstrations of outrageous outrage in recent American broadcasting. O’Donnell takes Tagg Romney’s joke about wanting to take a swing at President Obama when Obama kept asserting that his father was lying during the debate, and turns it into this Johnson-measuring moment that went on for almost three minutes.

And it wouldn’t be complete without the gratuitous class-warfare nonsense, as O’Donnell whines about his underprivileged childhood as a way to suggest that Tagg can’t handle himself mano a mano:

New Era of Open Government
Eric Holder, attorney general under President Barack Obama, has prosecuted more government officials for alleged leaks under the World War I-era Espionage Act than all his predecessors combined, including law-and-order Republicans John Mitchell, Edwin Meese and John Ashcroft.

The indictments of six individuals under that spy law have drawn criticism from those who say the president's crackdown chills dissent, curtails a free press and betrays Obama's initial promise to "usher in a new era of open government."

The Obama administration has prosecuted more leakers of classified information to the news media than Republican predecessors.

Thomas Drake, a whistle-blower and former analyst at the National Security Agency, talks about the personal and professional toll resulting from an allegation that he gave a reporter classified information about inefficiencies and cost over-runs in an NSA surveillance program. Drake, who was prosecuted in 2010 by Obama's Justice Department under the Espionage Act and maintains he never shared classified information, spoke this week to Bloomberg's David Ellis.

In 2009, former FBI linguist Shamai Leibovitz was indicted for handing over transcripts of government wiretaps of the Israeli embassy in Washington to a blogger. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 20 months in prison.

"There's a problem with prosecutions that don't distinguish between bad people -- people who spy for other governments, people who sell secrets for money -- and people who are accused of having conversations and discussions," said Abbe Lowell, attorney for Stephen J. Kim, an intelligence analyst charged under the Act.

Lowell, the Washington defense lawyer who has counted as his clients the likes of Jack Abramoff, the former Washington lobbyist, and political figures including former presidential candidate John Edwards, said the Obama administration is using the Espionage Act "like a club" against government employees accused of leaks.

Despite Transparency Promise, U.S. Denies More Than 300,000 Information Requests in One Year.

The prosecutions, which Obama and the Justice Department have defended on national security grounds, mean that government officials who speak to the media can face financial and professional ruin as they spend years fighting for their reputations, and, in some cases, their freedom.

Biden: 'How Many of You Know Someone who Served in Iraq or Iran?'
Vice President Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
The former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect to be found in the World's Greatest Deliberative Body...
asked supporters Thursday at a Nevada campaign event, "How many of you know someone who served in Iraq or Iran?"

Biden was joined at the event by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
... the charismatic senator-for-life from Nevada, currently majority leader ...
and embattled Senate candidate Rep. Shelley Berkley. At Biden's question, Reid raised his hand.

At the event, Biden also said that when it comes to the Young Guns -- a group of younger Republicans, including Rep. Paul Ryan
...U.S. Representative for Wisconsin's 1st congressional district, serving since 1999, and current Republican VP candidate. He proposed an alternative to President Obama's 2011 budget and made himself the target of both Democrat and Republican verbal pies...

I told them that without people like you our nation would not be as strong and vital, your service has help to keep our nation strong and your work has helped to provide the potential to the people of Iraq and Afghanistan to gain there own freedoms. Thank you.

I'm surprised he asked that at a Dem function - after all, a solid part of that party despises the military, and the elitists there think its for people that are beneath them and their family. After all thier last candidate (who is a friend of Harry Reid and Joe Biden) said this:

You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.

A quarter of all applicants to the armed forces are disqualified because they can't meet education standards, and another quarter cause they can't meet fitness standards. #12  Of course Afghanistan counts, Frank. After all, that's where Joe went eyeball to eyeball with the Tallybon...

"Ladies and gentlemen, where are we now? Where are we now?" Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., said to the National Guard Association today, talking about the war in Afghanistan."If you want to know where Al Qaeda lives, you want to know where Bin Laden is, come back to Afghanistan with me," Biden said. "Come back to the area where my helicopter was forced down, with a three-star general and three senators at 10,500 feet in the middle of those mountains. I can tell you where they are."

In February 2008, Biden — along with Sens. John Kerry, D-Mass., and Chuck Hagel, R-Neb. — was on a chopper that made an emergency landing in the mountains of Afghanistan. A snowstorm had forced them down. No one was injured, and the Associated Press reported at the time that "the senators and their delegation returned to Bagram Air Base in a motor convoy, and left for Turkey.

"The weather closed in on us," Kerry told the AP at the time in a phone interview from Turkey. "It went pretty blind, pretty fast and we were around some pretty dangerous ridges. So the pilot exercised his judgment that we were better off putting down there, and we all agreed…We sat up there and traded stories." Kerry joked, "We were going to send Biden out to fight the Taliban with snowballs, but we didn’t have to do it…Other than getting a little cold, it was fine."

Obama: 'When four Americans get killed, it's not optimal'
President B.O., during the taping of The Daily Show, discussed the Benghazi terrorist attack that claimed the lives of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and three other Americans.

"Here's what I'll say. When four Americans get killed, it's not optimal. We're going to fix it," Obama said per pool. "The government is a big operation and [at] any given time something screws up," he also said, saying that he believes "you find out what's broken and you fix it."

The president was responding to this question from Stewart. "Is part of the investigation helping the communication between these divisions? Not just what happened in Benghazi, but what happened within," the comedian asked according to the pooler. "Because I would say, even you would admit, it was not the optimal response, at least to the American people, as far as all of us being on the same page"

#1  What then is the optimal number of speed bumps Americans killed?

Is that number smaller than four, or greater?

#2  BLUF: POTUS dithered and chose not to convene his security council, but rather go to Vegas.

What has recently come out is that the attack lasted over a period of hours, and was observed by the US State Department via Closed Circuit Televison Cameras (CCTV) mounted at the consulate. The length of the attack would have permitted State Department intellligence personnel to clearly identify tactics, personnel, and precisely what was taking place. This would have been relayed to the White House Situation Room via FLASH message or piped via LIVE feeds. The US Army White House Communications Detachment would be aware of what took place and have detailed logs.

The news reported last evening that the adminisitration allegedly refused to send in an extremis force rescue party to either attempt to save the consulte staffers or secure the facility. This decision would have been made by the POTUS. The reluctance to send anyone in, would appear to be supported by the delay in getting an FBI investigation team to Benghazi and the creation of this video fictional cause.
