Earlier on Tuesday, explosions thundered near the village of Novofedorovka in Crimea. According to the Ministry of Defense, the incident occurred due to the detonation of aviation munitions, one person was killed, nine others, including two children, received shrapnel wounds. Local residents reported hearing 12 explosions coming from the base. Russian officials said the earth-shattering kabooms were caused by the detonation of several ammunition stores.
The base is home to a Russian naval strike aircraft, as well as a training ground for Russian pilots.

The essence of the matter is as follows: the well-known Donetsk commander Alexander Sergeevich Khodakovsky (the last surviving major field commander of the first militia of the DPR), who took part in the liberation of Mariupol in this war, spoke critically on his TG channel about the spontaneous re-Sovietization taking place in during the special operation: the restoration of monuments to Lenin, Soviet rhetoric, the use of the red banner, ect. Let me emphasize: not “against”, but “critically”. That caused serious counter-objections.
The arguments of the respected Alexander Sergeevich Khodakovsk, in general, boil down to the fact that that idea has already outlived its usefulness and, most importantly, it is opposed to Orthodoxy. On which he calls to bet, curtailing the re-Sovietization in principle. In general, his statements could also be called thoughts aloud. At least, they go in this format. I'll quote two of his last posts on the subject:
"... And why should I love Lenin? We are not so naive as to believe in children's stories about the stove-maker and so on? Lenin was no good-natured grandfather. It was one of the smartest and most efficient machines of the time..."
I am against the demolition of monuments, and I have spoken about this in the Orthodox community more than once. But I once again raise the question: why disturb the ashes of a dead and not buried person? Nevsky, Donskoy, Suvorov, Ushakov, Zhukov, Konev, Tolbukhin, Rokossovsky ... These are all Russian people in spirit who defended their land and multiplied it. And politicians who pushed ideas that lost to human nature is something else, in my opinion ...

Well, I will share my own thoughts on this issue. As short as possible, since I don’t really want to participate in the discussion itself. I don't like to argue publicly with people I respect. Excuse me. But I still can’t help but express myself, albeit briefly.
To begin with, I’ll immediately clarify: I am not a particular fan of the Soviet period of our great history. As well as I am not his hater. I evaluate it calmly and, I hope, objectively. And everyone who tries to emotionally/hysterically stagger me in one direction or another, I send to a known address. Again, without engaging in dialogue (I'm fed up with such meaningless conversations, guys). This is as a disclaimer.
Now on topic. I categorically disagree with Alexander Sergeevich Khodakovsk that Soviet symbols and re-Sovietization itself, as such, in the liberated territories is negative. Everything is quite the opposite. This is just perceived as the restoration of historical integrity, which was destroyed by Ukraine.
Historical Russia (in the purest sense of the word) has existed with Soviet symbols for almost a century. And the memory of it comes directly from the people who perceive it as something of their own, primordial. Moreover: the return of Soviet symbols is perceived by the people in the liberated territories precisely as the return of historical Russia. You can treat it as you like, but it's a fact. As well as the fact that the people have exactly the same attitude towards Russian Orthodoxy.
As for the opposition between Orthodoxy and the Soviet period. There is such. But this is not a given, but our historical tragedy, which must be overcome. Even the collapse of the Secular Union, in many respects, was due to the same irreconcilable opposition of Orthodoxy and the Soviet way of life. And if this situation had not developed at one time, then the USSR would not have fallen and the current war would simply not have happened.
And what is happening now, our common homeland (I'm talking now about the territories on both sides of the obscene border of 1991) was brought precisely by de-Sovietization. First of all, Ukraine, but also Russia, as well as other fragments of our common Motherland. Moreover, it was she who, in the end, totally turned into de-Russification. These two processes went hand in hand, and reverse Russification, as I believe, may well be combined with certain elements of re-Sovietization. This is at least logical.
Further, the key ideological content of the current military operation is the war against Ukrainian fascism and the global evil behind it. And such a war, in any case, gives references to the Great Patriotic War - draws direct parallels with it. It is her archetypes that are spontaneously demanded: red stars, the Banner of Victory, signs and symbols. Why oppose all this to Orthodoxy - another, no less significant part of our self-identification? After all, this is still the same rake, only the approach is from the other side.
Exactly the same mistakes of the Soviet period (which ended badly) and the subsequent already quite conscious malicious intent of our enemies. But we, on the contrary, need to restore integrity, don't we? Moreover, according to all sociological studies, not only in Russia and Ukraine, but throughout the entire post-Soviet space,
The fact that the respected Alexander Sergeevich Khodakovsk does not like revolution in any form can be understood - both his occupation and the experience of the past eight years contribute to this. But only the request for re-Sovietization is not revolutionary in nature - on the contrary, it is deeply conservative.
And this conservatism, in its essence, is not much different from the Orthodox - it is exactly the same traditionalist. And here, on the contrary, I personally see a historical chance for Russian and Russian society. Because, in my deep conviction, only the reconciliation of Orthodoxy and the Soviet period can lead us out of the vicious circle. I note that now, speaking of Orthodoxy, I am exactly the same talking about other traditional religious denominations of our country (and not only it). It's my opinion. And not only mine. It is worth noting that the author's father is an Orthodox priest.
I repeat once again for especially gifted lovers of both "Holy Russia" and "immaculate communism" - I am not a fan of the Soviet period and not his hater. And I'm not going to argue with any of you - go in peace. But I still want to say a few words to some people in the finale. Of course, I wrote this text as a kind of answer to a person I respect. But here are citizens who occupy much higher offices and broadcast such ideas, I would ask: do you understand exactly what you are doing, or as always? Do you definitely have something to replace the re-Sovietization that you so dream of dismantling? In ideological terms?
Or do you again live in your own world, in which Heavenly Jerusalem hovers over Moscow, and fascist Ukraine is defeated in one day by the forces of “one parachute regiment”? I won't say anything. I know the answer. Let the question hang in the air.

[Facebook] Organization of an infantry brigade - what would the optimal model look like according to the experience of the war?
Modern infantry warfare, mass mobilization, and enemy advantage in combat requires structural changes so that troops can optimize our quality advantages and systemic problems of the enemy.
Our advantages:
1. More higher military intelligence and motivation.
2. Quality advantage of the Ukrainian infantry.
3. Numerical advantage in the personal warehouse.
4. Means of communication, primarily Starlink.
5. Automated military and fire management systems.
6. Quantitative and qualitative advantage in the means of optical intelligence, the number of sensors on the battlefield.
7. Logistics and supplies.
It is necessary to concentrate troops around personnel headquarters, strengthen personnel troops, saturate personnel troops with quality personnel, and empower brigade commanders to make broad horizontal shifts regarding training and promotion s sergeants and junior officers, the possibility of their testing in various horizontal positions.
Need to increase the capacity of units to act independently and autonomous - this requires strengthening of staff, logistics, intelligence and engineering support in every single battalion and company.
Most importantly, we need not increase officers and admin lines that are ineffective due to lack of coordinated and trained troops, we need increase sergeants, juniors, arms operators in the key chain the section of the mouth. States should be filled from the bottom, not from the top. The vitality and efficiency of personnel teams is an absolute priority before the deployment of new connections.
It's time to change states and doctrine.
Therefore the optimal organization of the brigade (you can call it differently, say, infantry) see so:
1. Three or four mechanized battalions. That is, "heavy" infantry battalions that are armed with armored equipment, mortars, heavy machine guns, operate from this equipment, and have armor to protect the servicemen. They hold the borders, impacting enemy troops on the front lines.
2. One or two assault battalions. Lightweight infantry. Perform reconnaissance, assault tasks, there is a mobile reserve for rapid reinforcement in any direction. The light infantry has weapons that they carry on themselves and unarmored vehicles. It's also machine guns, mortars, ptrk.
3. Reconnaissance battalion. Technical intelligence battalion, this is our advantage that needs to be increased. We won't be able to have the same amount of combat equipment, but we can have an advantage in reconnaissance and fire control. Optical cameras, drones, radio-electronic reconnaissance, radio-electronics fighting, radio-location stations. All this has to be coordinated with the analytical unit, the coordination of space intelligence data.
4. Battalion of Engineers. Troop resilience is ensured by the presence of protective structures and camouflage and constant equipment of the line, infantry must enter equipped positions, or receive equipment support quickly. It takes technique, manpower, materials, and constant burying and creation of boundaries, positions, paths to continually increase the viability of the connection. The Engineering Battalion also performs infantry tasks for the second line, meaning there can be service for fighters who, due to health, age and training, cannot be allowed to stay on the front for a long time.
5. Battalion of Tanks. The main operational unit of the tank troops should become a tank company, according to the staff structure of the NATO armies - the United States and the FRN, in a warehouse of 14 tanks. The tank battalion should be organized with its own security, intelligence and sappers to be able to act independently. Tank units should be provided with backup crews to be able to work intensively and have personnel trained. How many such mouths in the battalion - depends on the number of technology, it is not the number, but the full authenticity. Courage should ensure the presence of units for repair and security.
6. Brigade artillery group, division or artillery battalion (as organized in NATO). All 105 - 155 mm artillery units. The primary operational unit of the artillery should be individual batteries that have support and provision for autonomous actions. the presence of divisions is not needed, NATO armies work with batteries, it's time for us to switch to the same states - batteries with 6-8 guns.
You should also prepare backup calculations in this artillery unit.
7. The Uchb Battalion. The battalion in charge of the recruits' combat training, rear guard, bases. For law and order in the area of responsibility. For the training of the sergeants. For the completeness of combat units. And this is an additional battalion headquarters, which also periodically rotates to the front, meaning we provide experience exchange and high combat capabilities. The training battalion should have both permanent and alternating composition, where soldiers coming from the front are transferred for training, vacation, conducts all administrative accounting regarding the military who are temporarily removed from the performance nnya combat tasks for the composition of their regular units. Here comes the curfew.
8. Battalion of combat support. Integrated supplies, food, transportation, repair, logistics, materials, equipment, all of these significantly increase the military capacity, quality logistics yields significant results.
9. The anti-aircraft missile division.
10. Anti Tank Division. Long-range anti-tank missile complexes should be used concentrated, maneuverable on the entire front.
11. Medical company. Of special importance is the saturation of troops on the front crews who ensure the "golden hour" of evacuation. This boosts the fighting spree a lot.
12. The hub of communication and automation control. One of the key units that provide network-centered warfare technology. There should be more mouth by number and positions.
13. HQ.
In my opinion, such a structure will allow to significantly improve all aspects of combat applications. Yes, the number of the brigade will increase to the size of the division - about 10-12,000 fighters. But people we have and people are our primary resource, and our task is to give them maximum professional management, organization, application to conduct proper selection to each unit, quickly transfer people to the positions they are capable of noses and inclination, cooking, educating. We no longer have a professional army - but a mass mobilized army, and we have to consider new challenges.
Of course, this also requires other key decisions - cutting the TRO brigades and self-rising units, including TRO troops on the front on a permanent basis in the personnel brigades of the Armed Forces.
Army reform should be based on quality use of people and resources because these are the factors that ensure victory in a long-term full-scale war against a very strong adversary.

The current edition of the Russian shipbuilding program was approved in the spring of 2014, the military expert recalled. According to him, over the past eight years, there have been dramatic changes in the world: a sharp cooling in the relations between Russia and the West, a big number of sanctions imposed on Russia, NATO’s further expansion, the establishment of the AUKUS bloc in Southeast Asia, and, finally, the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine in February this year. Maybe design ships that can have proper damage control functions, reduced exposure of ordnance to secondary explosions, and not just for 'one salvo and done' missions? Maybe also remember that you need air superiority to go venturing about the water. The US Navy paid a price for the latter at Okinawa. Back then, they had the numbers to absorb the losses.

These backwards ass people can't even get their only half floating carrier to work. Ukraine is effectively whipping that Russian ass and I for one am proud of them for it.
Putin knows he's going to die a sudden death via execution ordered by the FSB shortly after Ukraine's Army has totally destroyed the Russian Army in Crimea along with the Kerch Strait Bridge.
Be good for Russia if the people just revolted and overthrew this corrupt state apparatus that's been thieving from them since Putin took over. Including the FSB, just get rid of all the thieves and murderers at once.

In May this year, I was sat around a table with Donatella Rovera, Amnesty International’s Senior Crisis researcher predicting their upcoming report would land like a lead balloon. We were in the kitchen of our hotel in Kramatorsk, the administrative capital of Ukrainian-controlled Donetsk and we could hear the boom of artillery outside our windows every hour.
Rather than expressing shock at the relentless Russian bombardment, the Amnesty staff seemed much more concerned with the fact that a Ukrainian army unit had taken refuge in the basement of a college building.

We’d all been to the building: an abandoned language school in the frontline town of Bakhmut which had been turned into a temporary barracks for a Ukrainian unit. This is not a war crime. A military is perfectly entitled to set up in an evacuated educational institution, although of course that building can no longer claim civilian protection and there was a mainly abandoned civilian apartment block over the road, which had not been fully evacuated.
But Rovera was insistent that this military presence in a populated area was a “violation of international humanitarian law”’. When I pressed her on how the Ukrainian Army was supposed to defend a populated area, she said that it was irrelevant.
By that logic, I continued, Ukraine would have to abandon the major locations such as the city of Kharkiv. “Well, they must avoid as far as possible taking positions in a populated area,” she replied. “International humanitarian law is very clear on this.”
I suggested her coming Amnesty International report would be received badly if it failed to differentiate between defensive and offensive operations in urban areas.
