Comedian Russell Brand: ‘Trump Was Right About Hillary and Russia'
[Breitbart] Firebrand English comedian Russell Brand is admitting Donald Trump was right about Russia all along — after the Department of Justice charged a lawyer linked to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign with lying to the FBI to create the impression that the Trump campaign was colluding with Russia.

After reviewing the latest news on the charges, Brand said he was "flabbergasted" by the fact that the evidence now seems to show that "Russiagate was a Democratic conspiracy."

Brand said that as a leftist, he wants to believe that the Democrat Party is the party of "diversity and truth and social justice." But he added that the new evidence is worrisome. "What my concern is becoming is that these are totemic issues pushed to the forefront to mask ordinary, regular corruption," he said.

Brand’s concerns were sparked after special counsel John Durham charged Michael Sussmann with lying to the FBI about the origins of the Russia "collusion" accusations lodged against Donald Trump in 2016.

Dozens Of Massachusetts State Police Troopers Resigning Over COVID Vaccine Mandate, Union Says
[Weasel Zippers] BOSTON (CBS) — The State Police Association of Massachusetts (SPAM) said dozens of troopers have submitted their resignation papers as a result of the state’s COVID vaccine mandate.

The state is requiring all executive department employees to show proof of vaccination by October 17, or risk losing their jobs.

A source told WBZ on Monday that only one state trooper has told human resources that they would resign because of the vaccine mandate. The source also said there are others who spoke with HR to evaluate what their pensions would be if they chose to retire.

Last week, a judge denied a request from the State Police union to put a hold on Baker’s vaccine mandate for troopers.

The union released a statement following the judge’s decision.

Outspoken Marine officer who went viral blasting military leaders over Afghanistan is jailed: report
[FoxNews] Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller rose to internet stardom by posting a video slamming the US withdrawal from Afghanistan

Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, the officer who went viral for blasting the military's leadership amid the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, has been sent to the brig, according to a report.

"All our son did is ask the questions that everybody was asking themselves, but they were too scared to speak out loud," Scheller's father, Stu Scheller Sr., told Task & Purpose. "He was asking for accountability. In fact, I think he even asked for an apology that we made mistakes, but they couldn’t do that, which is mind-blowing."

Scheller first rose to internet stardom by posting a video to Facebook blasting military leaders for the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, questioning their command decisions on the events leading up to and during the final evacuation effort.

Scheller would go on to release several more videos, generating praise and controversy while drawing the ire of military leadership. Eventually, he was told by superiors to stop posting to social media altogether, an order he immediately ignored by posting about the gag order.

The officer also seemingly realized that last post could result in his trip to the brig.

"What happens when all you do is speak truth and no one wants to hear it. But they can probably stop listening because… I’m crazy… right?" Scheller wrote at the end of the post. "Col Emmel please have the MPs waiting for me at 0800 on Monday. I’m ready for jail."

Scheller is "currently in pre-trial confinement," a spokesperson for Training and Education Command said of the officer's status.

"The time, date, and location of the proceedings have not been determined. Lt. Col. Scheller will be afforded all due process," the statement continued.

But the elder Scheller defended his son, arguing that he was only asking for "accountability" from the military's top brass.

"He’s asking for the same accountability that is expected of him and his men," he said.

"I’ve had Vietnam veterans contacting me applauding him for his courage because they too want to know: Was it all worth it?" he continued. "And by demanding accountability and honesty from his senior leaders, that’s all he was asking. And the way the Marine Corps has dealt with it: They have now put him in jail."

G(r)om,

For the most part, we aren't. LTC Scheller was under some significant stresses (including likely PTSD and verified financial issues) and on top of that, after he announced he was getting out, his wife took the kids and split - apparently she found out about his decision with the rest of us.

There's also the matter that he was told to sit down and shut up until this got sorted out...and didn't. I'm inclined to believe the Corps may have intended to just get him out the door as quickly and as quietly as possible, but the bottom line is that he was given a lawful order, and in writing, yet...and couldn't/wouldn't do it. At that point they had no choice, especially when you remember that the Corps has never been especially tolerant or forgiving of those who stray from The Path.

He's going to go down hard, but I'm reasonably sure he won't do any bad time. And though right he may be, LTC Scheller also needs some folks to talk to. I hope he finds them.

#5  HE HAS MENTAL ISSUES!!!! HE IS BANKRUPT!!! HIS WIFE RAN AWAY!!!! Gee, if I wanted to discredit him, what would I say?? SO break it down here before slandering a LTC please. He knows he is getting out, send the family home before the fall school year starts and get them away from the spotlight. Any proof of his financial issues? Any proof of his PTSD? And so what does any of that have to do with what he said? He is locked up to silence him. Plain and simple, now he cant even defend the "verified" slanders. But of course I'm under stress, have financial issues, question my govt, and PTSD, like every other vet. Lock us all up?

#7  #4 Mike, I only knew 3 LT. Colonels in all my IDF service (regular & reserves). All 3 were idiots (from my [sergeant's] point of view). But, you definitely has something there. There must be some trouble (like "You'll never be a colonel, Stuart) before one breaks every rule: written & unwritten; he have lived under for 20 years.
In any case, as you point out, political activity is an absolute no no for a field grade officer in a democracy - look at all these African countries.

#5 HE HAS MENTAL ISSUES!!!! HE IS BANKRUPT!!! HIS WIFE RAN AWAY!!!!

Come on 49 Pan, the reason such arguments are used because they are common causes of irregular behavior.
Certainly, it's easier to believe in mental breakdown than to believe that one suddenly (plenty of fuckups and unendurable stupidity in WOT before that) discovered the truth - and cannot wait to be properly discharged before shouting it at the world.

IMO, mental breakdown is a charitable explanation. The uncharitable one is that LTC screwed up big - as a commander - and acted to create a coverup for himself as a dissident.

He watched as brave Marines were slaughtered and sacrificed on the altar of Political Expediency, and tried to get SOMEONE involved in the "planning" and/or execution of the Charlie Foxtrot to take some...hell, ANY accountability.
As a former Marine (1971-1979) I am beyond outraged.

#14  So I'm a retire LTC, as the regulars know. I served in Afghanistan, So I must be an idiot, or a communist. Fuck! Really? And my son who is serving proudly alongside thousands of proud Americans must be idiot or communists too? I remember joining in the 70's and hearing the same bigoted shit from ignorant and out of touch people. And now the same here on the Burg. Blame the soldiers, they have to be mentally ill to join, or have some nefarious reason. Blaming the honest foot soldiers for generals spending too much time in the pentagon is how it went in the 60's and 70's. I though we would have learned from that level of ignorance. As far as the LTC's mental state, remember this, it is impossible to defend oneself from a lie like this. The man spoke his mind, he's not crazy, he knew it would cost him his career. But the rest... pure bullshit and those piling on with the rumors are an embarrassment.
Posted by: 49 Pan || 09/28/2021 11:24 Comments || Top||

#15  my comment regarding "Idiots" and "Communists" was misconstrued. I meant, the way the rank & file (including O5 on down) are being treated and thrown away WITHOUT accountability by the "upper echelons" means going into the military at this point is damn near suicide.
Colonel Scheller was keeping the faith with those below him...and was discarded by those above him.
Loyalty is DOWN before it is Up...meaning you can't expect those below you to show you loyalty, until you have exhibited loyalty to them. They won't have YOUR back, until they know you have THEIRS. The "Brass" in the military (O6 and up) are showing NO loyalty or regard for those they carelessly throw into harms way.

Army Football's Winning Record In Jeopardy As General Milley Keeps Giving Opponents Their Playbook
[Babylon Bee] WEST POINT, NY—Army's football program has been winning games this year, but that record may be in danger as General Milley keeps sending copies of their playbook to their opponents.

"I have always believed it's important to give your opponent a heads up on whatever your secret plans are," said Milley to reporters while getting his weekly pedicure. "That's only fair—especially when your team represents the racist imperial forces of American white rage, and your opponents are oppressed people of color. I learned that in my ARMY CRT training last week."

"I really appreciate the General giving us the Army playbook," said Ball State head coach Mike Neu. "That was pretty cool of him. We look forward to utterly destroying his team this Saturday!"

General Milley said he would really love to go to the game this weekend, but can't make it as he will be attending President Xi's son's piano recital in Beijing.

Are Vaccines the New Military-Industrial Complex?
[PJ] One of the last things Eisenhower did as president was give a speech warning about the nation’s military-industrial complex.

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist," Eisenhower said in his 1961 farewell address to the nation.

Whether you believe the military-industrial complex—the power it wields and the money it makes—is real or not, one thing is certain: The United Stated has spent extended periods of time engaging in military exercises in other countries since Ike’s speech. We spent more than 10 tears in Vietnam and 20 years in Afghanistan. We invaded Iraq in 2003 and remained in force until 2011. Today we still have 2,500 troops there.

The point is, a lot of people have made a lot of money since Eisenhower’s warning.

Today we have a new moneymaker: COVID vaccines. Leftist politicians are pushing the vaccines with a dedication that would impress a Jehovah’s Witness.

FACT-O-RAMA! The U.S. has administered 388 million vaccine doses. There have been 6.06 billion doses administered worldwide. Cha-CHING!

Today, 82.4% of the nation has been at least partially vaccinated. Democrat leaders have used guilt, bribes, and, finally, threats, to get people to bend their knees and raise their sleeves.

The entire nation has yet to be partially vaccinated and the CDC is already pushing booster shots. Pharmaceutical companies are racing to get approval for children’s vaccines, even though kids rarely get seriously ill from the China virus. Thus far, 461 American children have died from COVID. Comorbidities in children are unknown because the CDC isn’t recording the comorbidities of kids who die of COVID-19.

China-Japan-Koreas
Xi's desperate roll of the dice
American Thinker
Time for some (cautious) optimism?

Wall Street and the big international corporations have suddenly awakened to the threat China poses. And no, it has nothing to do with the danger China poses to American national security, the massive theft of U.S. intellectual property, the release of the Wuhan virus on the world, or even its use of Uighur Muslims in forced labor. Rather, it has to do with the threat to Wall Street profits. This is what had George Soros criticizing BlackRock's recent investments in China and the Wall Street Journal clutching its pearls. Here's the backdrop to the story.

As the WSJ put it, Xi is trying to forcibly get the country back to the vision of Mao Zedong, who saw capitalism as mere transition phase on the road to socialism. Accordingly, Xi's plans call for more government intervention in the economy. Since he has consolidated power, the Chinese president is putting the entire state apparatus behind making private companies serve the state. Also, private business and the wealthy are now being "encouraged" to donate more of their wealth and profits toward Xi's "common prosperity" goals. Alibaba alone has pledged the equivalent of $15.5 billion. And Western investments in China are not being ignored by Xi.
For foreign businesses, the campaign likely means more turbulence ahead. Western companies always had to toe the party line in China, but they are increasingly asked to do more, including sharing personal user data and accepting party members as employees. They could be pressed to sacrifice more profits to help Beijing achieve its goals.
Why do bad things happen to good people?
...According to Kevin Rudd, former prime minister of Australia, Xi feels compelled to act at this time by three forces: ideology, demographics, and decoupling. As for the first, Xi is much more ideologically driven than previous Chinese leaders, except for Chairman Mao, whom Xi wishes to imitate. Xi has told party members that China's hybrid model of capitalism mixed with socialism (communism) has passed its use-by date. It's time to go full socialist (fascist). Xi is a true believer.

Rudd says demographics figure large in Xi's thinking. The May 2021 census revealed that birth rates have fallen sharply, to 1.3, which is even lower than Japan's. Worse yet, China's demographic profile is upside-down — it has fewer and fewer young people with a rapidly aging population. Xi sees this as a major impediment to China's goal of becoming a major world power by the centenary of the founding of the People's Republic in 2049.

Rudd goes on the say Xi wants China to selectively decouple from the West and formally present itself as a strategic rival to America on the world stage. The Chinese president talks about this being a protracted struggle lasting to the mid-century. In his mind, Xi sees all this leading to a "dual circulation economy," where reliance on exports is diminished while Chinese consumer domestic demand becomes the main driver of economic growth.
Good. IMO, PLA is a lot less dangerous than destruction of Western industry by a a flood of cheap (because Chinese gov subsidized) goods.

Experts: COVID-19 Will Resemble Common Cold by Spring 2022
BLUF:
[LI] Professor Dame Sarah Gilbert, the creator of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, asserts that COVID-19 is unlikely to mutate into a deadlier variant and will eventually end up as a common cold.

Cutting down fears of a more deadly new variant, she said that viruses tend to "become less virulent as they circulate" through the population, Daily Mail reported.
"There is no reason to think we will have a more virulent version of SARS-CoV-2", as "there aren’t very many places for the virus to go to have something that will evade immunity but still be a really infectious virus", Gilbert was quoted as saying.

...SARS-CoV-2 will eventually become like the coronaviruses which circulate widely and cause the common cold, Gilbert said.

"We already live with four different human coronaviruses that we don’t really ever think about very much and eventually SARS-CoV-2 will become one of those," said Gilbert, while speaking at a seminar of the Royal Society of Medicine

While this is good news, it must be tempered by the reality that public health officials are now used to both the limelight and copious funding.

COVID Evidence
[HereIsTheEvidence] Due to the irregular nature of the COVID-19 responses, this is a crowdsourcing tool for organizing the economic ramifications, scientific inconsistencies, and legal issues. Our desire is to see a rational and principled approach to COVID-19 where the rights of citizens and commerce are protected.

This is for aggregating publicly available items of evidence that would be admissible in courts, not general news stories.

Phun Physics Phacts
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] ‘Einstein Ring' galaxy captured by the Hubble Space Telescope is more than NINE BILLION years old and was formed as the universe was going through a 'baby boom', scientists say
  • The Einstein Ring was 3.5 billion light-years away in the Fornax constellation

  • It is the result of light from a distant object passing through a large gravity field

  • This magnifies the distant light, making it easier to observe from the Earth

  • In this case astronomers could study the light from a nine billion year old galaxy

  • The phenomenon was first predicted by Albert Einstein in 1915, which he referred to as gravitational lensing, and formed part of general relativity
