-Land of the Free
We Are The Last Bastion Of Freedom The World Has Left. If You Don't Like It, Leave
[RedState] The United Kingdom has fallen. The United States of America is the last, best hope of mankind; and it must stay that way.

In 1964, Ronald Reagan delivered one of the greatest pieces of oratory of all time—he called it "A Time For Choosing," others simply referred to it as "The Speech." In it, he committed, "we’ll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we’ll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness." At that time, I don’t think the future President was exactly correct, other places in the world were still free, and capable of standing up to the forces of Communism and enslavement spreading throughout the world. This fact is exemplified in the creation of NATO. America wasn’t the only hope of the world, though we were definitely the strongest.

Now, however, those words can almost be interpreted as prophetic. In 2020, we are the last bastion of freedom. Other competitors for this position, even with their amazing history of freedom preservation, have dropped out, with probably the most prominent being the U.K. The country that once influenced our country to become what it is now, isn’t recognizable today.

Though the U.K. occupied and often fought with other countries, it was the 20th century that would prove where the Kingdom’s true loyalties lied. In World War One and World War Two, the United Kingdom was effectively the only power standing between world domination of fascism, and freedom—it was the force keeping evil, in the form of Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, and fascistic Italy, at bay. Even before those two great wars that tested the fortitude of the great nation, it was the ideas put forward by Great Britain—equality and freedom for all regardless of skin color or creed—that would help shape a new nation founded upon those same values, with even more potential: the United States.

Poll: Biden Leading In Several Key Battleground Cemeteries
[Babylon Bee] U.S.—A new CNN poll released Monday found that Joe Biden was leading in several key battleground cemeteries.

84% of the respondents said they would be voting for the Democratic challenger, while 2% said they would support incumbent Donald Trump. 14% just moaned, "BRAAAAAINS!" and reached their rotting arms out in front of them while shambling around looking for something, presumably brains.

"Biden has a real edge when we look at key battleground cemeteries all across the nation," said a visibly gleeful CNN anchor. "This is excellent news! Wait -- I'm not supposed to root for a side -- sorry, sometimes I forget. Anyway, good for Biden and I really hope he wins."

"This could be the end for Trump. The walls are closing in. This is the beginning of the end. He is done for. Kaput. The woman of significant size has begun to sing."

Some of the poll respondents then broke into CNN's studios and shambled around looking for brains but left emptyhanded.

A Coin Shortage Or Push For Digital Currency?
[AND] IMNSHO - it's the latter - so much easier to track you/sell you ads and tax you, especially on the cash/gig economy. Fuckers

#1  Funny how money has been around for 2,000 years and suddenly it's a problem (COVID-19). Gives a new meaning to 'filthy lucre'. But, people hoard when they feel something is wrong...even toilet paper.

#2  Trump has indicated we will have coins and Dollars. CON virus scare is just as real with card readers. Just another swamp media scare. Every day every week till election. Most people have stopped viewing commercial media.Polls are a fabrication and so are not paid attention to, 2016 being a good example.

#6  Mark of the devil on the right hand or on the forehead (666).
Posted by: Seeking Cure For Ignorance || 07/21/2020 13:43 Comments || Top||

#7  ...666 is generally believed to have been the original Number of the Beast in the Book of Revelation in the Christian Bible.[4] In 2005, however, a fragment of papyrus 115 was revealed, containing the earliest known version of that part of the Book of Revelation discussing the Number of the Beast. It gave the number as 616, suggesting that this may have been the original.[2] One possible explanation for the two different numbers is that they reflect two different spellings of Emperor Nero/Neron's name, for which (according to this theory) this number is believed to be a code. - cite

#8  So how close is the mark of the devil to 666? What if you have a round off error and you get 667? What then?

#9  Asked my teller last week about this; I was looked at like I had cucumbers growing out of my ears.

I was told by someone who just did a stint in Michigan that the big bois would let you pay in cash but they would keep the change. Weights and Measures should have their asses.

My guess is there are a number of actors coming together here. Obviously the digital currency people, the stores who get to keep the change and no longer have to pay for people to load and maintain the coin dispensers, the credit card people who gain balances and interest on said balances, and the politicians who peddle power for money.

#14  That's a fact.

I thought all the big bois had auto-change makers?

OT, just a bit.
Not too long ago I was traveling through Prairie City on my way home, stopped to buy some nice scotch. Some chuckleheads didn't call before digging and cut their own company's internet cable, knocking out internet for most of the town; especially the businesses. So, no on the credit cards.

Found my brand, paid cash, but wallet is now 2 pounds lighter. I'm also hungry. Go to sandwich shop and check in, "You alls' credit card machine work?"

No says the dude...but I can do a carbon ticket if you like. What, with the sliding machine and all that I ask the time traveler. Yessir, holds it up. Now I have to get a sandwich so I can watch dude wring up the plastic and I ask whats a paleolithic cashier doing in a new and hip sandwich shop.

He was just old enough, that at a very young age of 16 he worked as a grocery store checkout clerk, and it was the twilight of the carbon copy method. He called his boss, somehow found the machine, and very professionally walked me though how he will put the receipt in a lock box which only the manager has a key for, it will be processed as soon as possible, enjoy your sandwich and have a nice day.

Bet your carbon paper I tipped.

Not Satisfied With Just Having Summers Off, Teachers Push For Fall, Winter, Spring
Would be less more amusing if they weren't already trying for a partial over Covid 19
[Babylon Bee] U.S.—Studies have shown teachers are the laziest people on the planet, only working nine months and doing absolutely nothing for three months of the year. What's more, when they do work, teachers wander into school at 7 and go home at 2, having done nothing all day but press play on Bill Nye the Science Guy VHS tapes.

But having summers off isn't enough for the ungrateful public "servants": teachers are looking to leverage the pandemic into getting the other three seasons off too.

"I am just way overworked having to go in nine months out of the year," said Mrs. Mosley, a third-grade teacher from Seattle. "Can't we get the fall off? And when winter rolls around, I mean, it's cold. Who wants to go to work in the winter? This is the problem with capitalism: you have to work for food and money."

"And don't get me started on spring: it's so nice outside. Forcing teachers to work in spring is tyranny of the highest order. It's like, um... hang on, let me think of a literary reference."

She pulled out her phone and googled "fictional villains."

"It's like Voldemort in Harry Potter!" she said finally.

Teachers' unions are, of course, still demanding that the teachers be paid for their 12 months off.

#2  Critical Failure
*puts $5 in jar*

Here, they have pushed back the starting date by two weeks, in what my theory is called The Colorado Model, where the opening is pushed back and back two weeks at a time until its flu season, then why bother to open. Then second semester gets delayed because those joos and cross worshipers and their racist family gatherings push back second semester then why even open.

#5  And the state released its school opening requirements. Masks for all, except those with medical conditions.

Oh, and the post opened with the weasel words, "If school does open as planned..."

Governess Catlady tends to stay in the orbit of The Baroness of Michigan, so we'll see.
