James Tour: The Mystery of the Origin of Life
[YouTube] Dr. Tour is one of the world’s top synthetic organic chemists. He has authored 680 scientific publications and holds more than 120 patents (here is a partial list). In 2014, Thomson Reuters named him one of “The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds,” and in 2018 Clarivate Analytics recognized him as one of the world’s most highly cited researchers. Tour is also fearless. He joined more than a thousand other scientists in signing the “Scientific Dissent from Darwinism.” More recently, he has become a thorn in the side of the origin of life research community, offering blunt assessments of the current state of origin of life research. #1  There are a trillion stars in a typical galaxy and a trillion galaxies. There is one known planet with intelligent life in our galaxy. So life is possible. There must be a physical basis for life. But this guy is saying that because we can't figure out exactly how life arose we must conclude that magic was involved.

#2  Scientific Dissent from Darwinism

The theory of evolution - to use the correct term, doesn't deal with origin of life. Which is a mystery right now
No intermediate stages between organic
polymers and the simplest living organisms
which, at minimum, contain DNA what specifies
- among other things - proteins that replicate
DNA.

Theory of evolution deals with that happens once such organisms: capable of replicating themselves
with mistakes; exists. In a nutshell, evolution is a sequence of cycles of variation followed by selection among variants.

Periodically, some famous physicist (or in this case, organic chemist) publishes a book that "disproves" evolution - their simple minds are uncapable of grasping the idea of selection.

To summarize, just because we currently don't understand how life started, doesn't mean that any religious teachings (and there are so many, and so variant) are true.

You want to believe - just f*cking believe. And leave me alone - or I'll kill you.

#4  Don't have any idea about science or how it works. I continue to pray for the sick and for widows and orphans. Beyond that, most outcomes are far beyond my control. I'm on the short end of the string of life, a speck in time and figure I must leave a little something for those left behind, if I am able. AP analysis: Federal executions likely a COVID superspreader
WASHINGTON (AP) — As the Trump administration was nearing the end of an unprecedented string of executions, 70% of death row inmates were sick with COVID-19. Guards were ill. Traveling prisons staff on the execution team had the virus. So did media witnesses, who may have unknowingly infected others when they returned home because they were never told about the spreading cases.

Records obtained by The Associated Press show employees at the Indiana prison complex where the 13 executions were carried out over six months had contact with inmates and other people infected with the coronavirus, but were able to refuse testing and declined to participate in contact tracing efforts and were still permitted to return to their work assignments.

Other staff members, including those brought in to help with executions, also spread tips to their colleagues about how they could avoid quarantines and skirt public health guidance from the federal government and Indiana health officials.

The executions at the end of Donald Trump’s presidency, completed in a short window over a few weeks, likely acted as a superspreader event, according to the records reviewed by AP. It was something health experts warned could happen when the Justice Department insisted on resuming executions during a pandemic.

Economy
Chief Economist: The Unprecedented Scale Of US Fiscal Stimulus Will Lead To Epic 2023 Bust
[Zero] Suppose Congress passes something close to Biden's Administration stimulus proposal of $1.9 trillion. In that case, that will lift the cumulative amount of fiscal stimulus in the past 12 months to $5 trillion---three tranches $2.2 trillion, $900 billion, and $1.9 trillion.

In the past year, nominal GDP totaled $21 trillion, so the cumulative injection of fiscal stimulus amounts to almost 25%.

Nothing in modern times comes close, especially during peace times. CBO published a report in 2010 on the military costs of significant wars. The military war costs of World War 1 amounted to 13.6% of GDP and World War 11 35.8%----so the current spending/stimulus is in the middle of the two World Wars.

It's also been said that, despite the trillions of dollars being printed, the reason we don't have inflation is because of the lack of velocity of money. People are simply mot spending and why lowering interest rates to near 0% does not stimulate the economy. Just ask Japan & Europe.

Ex-CIA chief horrified by idea of denying Obama intel cheers Biden saying Trump shouldn't get briefed
[Washington Examiner] Former CIA Director Michael Hayden cheered after President Biden said former President Donald Trump should not receive intelligence briefings, a much different response than he gave to a similar proposal just two and a half years ago.

Biden told CBS News that Trump's "erratic behavior" justified pulling his access to intelligence briefings. Hayden reacted to the news with a tweet, saying, "It’s about time!"

But he wasn't so enthused two and a half years ago, when Trump was the one who reportedly considered restricting former President Barack Obama's access.

In August 2018, Hayden told CNN the idea was "an almost unspeakable proposal" that is "so un-American. It’s hard to imagine that happening in any but the most autocratic governments in the world."

The New Yorker reported that some of Trump's advisers proposed denying Obama access to intelligence briefings, while others told him of the importance of keeping his predecessors well informed as they met with world leaders. The report said then-White House national security adviser H.R. McMaster convinced Trump not to pull Obama's access. After the report came out, Trump denied ever thinking about or discussing the idea, calling the report "fake news."

Hayden is a retired four-star Air Force general who served as director of the National Security Agency and later the CIA under Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama.

Time Magazine: ‘Secret,' ‘Well-funded Cabal' Worked to ‘Protect' 2020 Election
[Breitbart] Time magazine has published a detailed account of what it describes as a "conspiracy" between "left-wing activists and business titans" to create "an extraordinary shadow effort" to "protect" the 2020 presidential election.

The New York Times had reported on the effort in January, referring to the "Democracy Defense Coalition." The Daily Beast hinted at it in the fall. But the Time article is the most in-depth report at what others suggested was going on behind the scenes.

The article by Molly Ball, titled "The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election," presents the effort as a heroic effort to preserve a free and fair election, and to fend off President Donald Trump’s anticipated claims of fraud.

Ball’s description, however, also matches what she calls a "paranoid" view of an effort to make it difficult for Trump to win:

#3  Hidden in plain view.

And they're laughing at us.

They know that this country isn't racist, that our $20 trillion economy has nothing to do with "plunder" or cruel exploitation of po' black cotton-pickers.

They know BLM and commie DAs elected with Soros-loot have caused >1,000 innocents, nearly all of them black, to be slaughtered since May 27. They know St George F died of a fentanyl overdose, that the fat thug Michael Brown wasn't "murdered," that Blowsey Ford is a psychopathic fabulist, and that Trump was hostile and belligerent, not docile or submissive, toward Russia.

They know Biden is a corrupt and senile old buffoon, his brother and son lowlife criminals who've sold access to "Pop" for over 30 years, that his VP is literally a prostitute and a political incompetent who's so repulsive and phony she couldn't win a single DNC delegate.

They know know that everything they say is bullshit.

They're simply laughing at us. F---ing with us. When asked why, they'll respond with the immortal words of Willie Jeff Clinton: "Because we CAN."

We now have a kakocracy: rule of the shits, by the shits, for the shits.

How much longer will Americans who love their country tolerate this shit?

#4  They might be bragging.

Alternatively this could be an attempt to preemptively frame reports that they know will be published soon (Veritas?).

If that's the case they'd make some strategic narrative sacrifices by admitting to unethical but not criminal wrongdoing. They'd use this newly revealed truthful information to package big strategically important lies.

BTW if posting a sarcastic meme can lead to 10 years in prison if it influences an election shouldn't the cabal be incarcerated for billions of years just for what is being admitted in this article?

They were, after all, according to the Time article's words colluding with inspired by an 'organized anarcho-tyrannical terror campaign the summer’s massive, sometimes destructive racial-justice protests.'

This went way beyond speech.

#14  From "The Insiders' Game":

... politics in the post-Trump era will no longer divide along an axis of Left and Right, but of insider and outsider.

When she started landing blows against Wall Street after the 2008 financial crisis, Elizabeth Warren met with President Obama’s economics adviser, the former treasury secretary and Harvard president Larry Summers.

He presented her with a choice: “I could be an insider or I could be an outsider,” she recalled in her 2014 memoir, A Fighting Chance. “Outsiders can say whatever they want. But people on the inside don’t listen to them. Insiders, however, get lots of access and a chance to push their ideas. People—powerful people—listen to what they have to say. But insiders also understandone unbreakable rule: They don’t criticize other insiders.”

When twin suicide bombs rocked a busy market in central Baghdad on 21 January, killing at least 32 people and injuring 110 others, many Iraqis went on TV talk shows or online chats to blame the ruling Iraqi groups for the horrific attacks.

It was a show of their deep anger and frustration over the failure of the Iraqi security forces to stop the atrocities, which ended a three-year hiatus in suicide kabooms in the Iraqi capital and not an exoneration of the Islamic State

-PC Follies
America is nearing the last exit on the highway to Hell
[American Thinker] The metastatic cancer of "cancel culture" that has taken root in the American sociopolitical environment features a couple of mechanisms all too common in communist regimes — purges and struggle sessions.

In the former Soviet Union, it was Stalin's practice to purge anyone he saw as a threat to his position. It didn't matter whether the person was a staunch communist or a true believer in the revolution. If he didn't bend to Stalin's will, he was removed. Many people just disappeared.

In the beginning, during the Bolshevik Revolution, Lenin, Stalin, and Leon Trotsky were close, with Trotsky eventually becoming second only to Lenin, but it didn't take long for a split to form. Trotsky supported the Mensheviks, Lenin the Bolsheviks. Lenin would come to refer to Trotsky as a "Judas," a "scoundrel," and a "swine." After Lenin died, Stalin came to believe that Trotsky was a threat to his grip on the Soviet state, so he permanently exiled Trotsky.

Trotsky eventually fled to Mexico but still had a voice and following in Russia that threatened Stalin. So Stalin had Trotsky convicted of treason in absentia and sent an NKVD goon squad to Mexico — half a world away — to assassinate him. The squad first botched a machine gun attack and eventually murdered him with an ice ax.

Stalin's practice of purging spread throughout Soviet society. Anyone could be accused of being a counterrevolutionary or enemy of the state. Some were named to fill quotas. The process was also used to remove anyone out of favor or in the way of some party apparatchik's petty aspirations. Fraudulent and fictional offenses were common — all that was needed was an accusation from the right person, and "Off to Gulag!"

In America today, if you are not a Democrat or are an insufficiently progressive Democrat, you too can be a counterrevolutionary and an enemy of the state. If you do not see the similarity between the bloodlust Stalin had for Trotsky and the hate Democrats have for Donald Trump and anyone associated with him — with Trump-supporters demonized as "domestic terrorists," "white supremacists," and "insurrectionists" — you either do not know history or choose not to look.

"Struggle sessions" were China's version of the "glorious people's revolution." Mao used to subdue and control a billion people spread across China's vast landscape, most of which was rural and agrarian. They were a form of public humiliation and torture that forced the subject to admit various crimes before a crowd of people who would verbally and physically abuse the victim before, during, and after the confession. Struggle sessions, though, were not designed primarily to punish the guilty. They were used to shape public opinion, as well as to humiliate, persecute, or execute political rivals and those deemed class enemies. Struggle sessions were cancel culture on steroids.

These tactics exist in contemporary American culture. The cancel mob will persecute anyone who says the wrong word, writes the wrong paper or editorial, retweets the wrong tweet, holds the wrong opinions, or is determined to be a danger to progressive ideology or Democrats — and "wrong" is defined as anything progressive Democrats don't like.

Mao's struggle sessions were conducted up close and personal, while cancel culture is often conducted from a distance (via social or traditional media). Even that is changing, though, since the Democrats became emboldened after taking total control over the presidency and Congress.
