More on this California story from a few days ago. NN2N1 found for us that Ms Montoya had been arrested a few days earlier for attacking a white woman, but was released without bail on her own recognizance.
[KTLA] A suspect was arrested in the fatal stabbing of a woman who was walking her two dogs in the La Sierra neighborhood of Riverside Saturday morning, officials said.
Officers responded to reports of a woman down just before 7:30 a.m. in the area of Golden Avenue, just north of Stonewall Drive, said Officer Ryan Railsback, front man for the Riverside Police Department.
Responding officers found a victim, later identified as 64-year-old Ke Chieh Meng of Riverside, on the ground bleeding from her abdomen area and suffering from stab wounds, Railsback said.
The woman was taken to a local hospital where she succumbed to her wounds, police said.
Shortly after the victim was pronounced dead, the Riverside police dispatch center received reports from the victim’s neighbors regarding what they described as a transient woman walking through their yards and acting suspicious, Railsback said.
Police were able to locate and detain the woman who they later identified as Darlene Stephanie Montoya, a 23-year-old transient from Monterey Park, officials said in a news release.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Meng was walking her two small dogs along Golden Avenue Saturday morning when she was "randomly confronted and attacked by the transient woman," police said in a news release.

The Ontario Police Department in California made an arrest over the hate crime felony assault of an Asian couple. Tuvorius Mencer is also facing a charge for assaulting an officer. Police are looking for his friend, a suspect who got away. #StopAsianHatehttps://t.co/8Sca47y8oxpic.twitter.com/afIO1AXH6n
I would like to know the name of the bystander that attempted to render aid to the Asian mother that had her baby with her while she was being attacked.
This guy stuck his neck out and was also beaten to the ground and still was being assaulted.
Whomever he is, he should be given major recognition for putting himself in danger to shield the mother.
BTW: Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers player Carlton Davis apologized for using an anti-Asian slur in his tweet on Sunday.
His tweet read:
"Gotta stop letting those g_ _ks into Miami"
He claimed he did not know it was a Racist word....

A warrior - Wakandan - Tuvorius,
Our modern-day miles inglorious
Don't dare look at that face
Or take note of his race!

[autoevolution] The Chevrolet Bel Air is one of the most iconic American cars ever built. It survived from 1949 to 1980, but the mid-1950s models are the most coveted. Many argue that the 1957 Bel Air is the best of the bunch, but the 1955 version is nothing to sneeze at either. It doesn't have the 57's big fins, but you'd be hard-pressed to find another car that blends stylish cues with hot-rod looks in such an appealing way.
Luckily, Chevy built quite a few Bel Airs back in the 1950s, and many of them are still on the road. And because they're so hot-looking and popular, barn finds are usually restored. This 1955 Bel Air here is a fine example of how a classic should be brought back to life.
The two-door hard-top looks perfect on the outside, with all chrome work shining as if it just left the factory. The paint is also in excellent condition, but that's because the car repainted some years one. There's just one caveat here: this isn't the original color.
This Bel Air left the factory sporting a two-tone livery in Regal Turquoise Poly and India Ivory. Bel Air enthusiasts will recognize that option as "612S." But one owner opted to refinish the car in yellow and white.
The two-tone livery is true to the original Bel Air layout, with one color covering the rear end, the upper rear fenders, and the top. However, Chevrolet didn't offer such an option back in 1955. The Bel Air palette included no fewer than 13 hues back then, but there was no yellow. The white paint used on the car does look a lot like the original India Ivory, though.

I had the pleasure of talking to a young man (early teens) who had recently 'dragged Main' in an 80s model car.
Basically, said it was absolutely fascinating.
Like driving around my Jeep. Not early enough for window vents, but not so late that it nags me for not tying my shoelaces left over right; still very mechanical, and decades away from China Jeep.

I loved my first ride, not counting dirt bikes. My dad traded a hunting rifle for my 1948 Ford long bed PU truck with split rims
The envy of my neighborhood back when, folks got out of my way heh.
My friends and I never could afford any of those beauties but had fun running the gut
Will they have hood locks for whatever is under that hood?

SOME COVID-19/20/21 PERSPECTIVE
The 2019 estimated population is 7,900,000,000.
The Total Covid-19 deaths from 2019 to 2021 as of yesterday were estimated to be 2,791,072. Or 0.0353 of 1% of the worldwide population.
Given the Worldwide death rate is normally about
56 Million a year. This Covid-19/20/21 from Dec. 1st, 2019 to April 6th, 2021 (492 days) added roughly about 6,101 deaths WORLDWIDE per day or 0.000077 of 1% per day.
Covid-19 vs Spanish Flu
According to US National Archive records.
The Spanish Flu, which ran from February 1918 to April 1920 infected about one-third of the planet's population
(<820 days) killed about 50 million worldwide. Which is was about 61,050 deaths per day.
This is roughly 10x's the number of deaths PER DAY that the CONvid-19 has accomplished.
Given the WORLD Population in 1917 was about 1/6th of the 2019 or about 1.9 billion. The Spanish Flu was truly a PLAGUE rated pandemic with a seriously high death rate.

MOSCOW, April 6 - RIA Novosti. Scheduled combat readiness checks have begun in the Russian Armed Forces, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Tuesday .
"The troops went to the training ranges to conduct tactical, tactical-special and bilateral exercises," the minister said at a conference call at the National Center for Defense Management.
Shoigu demanded from his subordinates "to ensure the high quality of control exercises and safety during the movement of military echelons and military equipment."
According to the ministry, a total of 4048 exercises of various scales will be held during April, including 812 bilateral exercises, at 101 training grounds and 520 facilities of the training and material base.
Checks will take place in all military districts and in the Northern Fleet, as well as in the Far North, the Kuril Islands and Kamchatka. All types and branches of troops will take part in them.
At the same time, a commission of the General Staff will conduct an audit in the Eastern Military District. The main draws of combat training will take place at the Tsugol and Sergeevsky training grounds. In the rest of the districts and in the Northern Fleet, control checks are carried out under the direction of the commanders of the troops.
We only post a taste of Strategy Page articles, because they use Rantburg as a raw feed for their work.
[StrategyPage] Since 2019 Vietnam has been visibly improving its military facilities on several of the Spratly islands that China has been claiming even though the islands are closer to Vietnam and were often occupied by Vietnamese civilian or military facilities.
China has always considered Vietnam the most aggressive opponent of Chinese claims, and the two countries have fought near disputed islands several times since the 1980s. Vietnam has not backed down but has been forced to back away several times and is preparing to make any future Chinese aggression very difficult, if not impossible without a major military operation. Vietnam knows that China wants to avoid being such an obvious aggressor in these matters because most nations, as well as international law (and the tribunals that hear appeals) oppose the Chinese claims.

In the past China illegally occupied the Paracel Islands and expelled South Vietnamese regional forces. It had no proper claim to the islands aside from the worn out excuse that a fourteenth century Chinese map encloses all of the South China Sea. In contrast, Vietnam had maps on deposit in Hue that proved Vietnamese occupation of the Islands going back hundreds of years. If the Chinese try to take the Spratly they will have war with Viet Nam. And, historically, that has always turned out badly for the Chinese.

China knows they cant fight a war. They sabre rattle then send in their businesses to reconcile. Once the business folks are there and engrained in the society they have effectively taken over the country. Most of the businesses, and local influencers in the PI are Chinese. The Chinese are taking what they want from the PI and there is nothing the PI can do about it.

Back in the pre-60s, it was the black 'passing' as white. Now its whites 'posing' as black. The dynamics should tell you who's "privileged" and who isn't these days.
[Just The News] GOP Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson want more information about the Secret Service's efforts to respond to their March 25 letter requesting records pertaining to any agency involvement in a 2018 episode related to Hunter Biden's gun.
Politico last month reported that Hallie Biden had placed Hunter Biden's weapon in the trash behind a grocery store and discovered it missing when she went back to retrieve it. The report said that Secret Service agents sought to obtain paperwork pertaining to the sale of the gun from the owner of the store where Hunter bought the gun, but the owner would not hand the materials over to them. The owner later provided the papers to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. The outlet reported that the missing gun was returned by an individual who often goes through the trash to obtain recyclables.
Hunter Biden said during an interview that he has no knowledge of the Secret Service being involved, saying "I don't think that that's true, to my knowledge."
[Washington Examiner] The mayor of Atlanta issued an executive order designed to limit the influence of Georgia's new voting law, which she says restricts the vote.
Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, a Democrat, signed the administrative order, which will "develop a plan of action to mitigate the impact on City of Atlanta residents of the voting restrictions imposed by Senate Bill 202," on Tuesday, defying the sweeping voting law signed by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp.
"The voting restrictions of SB 202 will disproportionately impact Atlanta residents — particularly in communities of color and other minority groups," Bottoms said. "This Administrative Order is designed to do what those in the majority of the state legislature did not — expand access to our right to vote."
So is Mayor Bottoms is either saying her voters are to lazy or too stupid to acquire a FREE GA VOTER ID to Vote properly.
Or is she worried that Atlanta's (Fulton/Cobb co) voter rolls once properly cleaned purged will prove Massive Voter Fraud?
Thus allowing the GBI to start an investigation.
DESPITE the GA SOS open attempts to avoid and stall it.

So go for it..more fodder for the upcoming Nullification of Fed over-reach in red states.
BTW - "Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, a Democrat" a bit redundant don't you think? Perhaps Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms(W) for Wakandan might be more apropos.
[YNet] - 2020 will go down in history as the year of the war against the coronavirus pandemic. However, although invisible to the eye, another battle has been waging in the wake of the online migration caused by people being forced to remain at home: the cyber war. The string of attacks on online services reached its peak with the exposure of the large Russian cyberattack on U.S. government institutions and companies who exploited a loophole in SolarWinds software, which lent the attack its name. The Israeli cybersecurity sector, which is considered a world leader in the field, finds itself at a key moment, which positions it to benefit from the escalation. Over the past year, against the backdrop of the growing need for cyber solutions, the local industry’s exports climbed by 20% compared to the previous year, hitting a new peak of $10 billion. And so, a single industry, which employs only 1% of the workforce is responsible for 10% of total exports and a third of all tech exports.
Israel itself is on the top of hackers’ target lists. Last December, F5 Networks reported that Israel was the most attacked country in the world during the third quarter of 2020, with 180,000 identified attempts. "Although Israel is multi-talented in the cybersecurity arena, it falls victim to cyberattacks that aren’t always sophisticated, and that’s a reminder that vulnerabilities can be exploited anywhere, and basic information security infrastructure must be bolstered," Aran Erel who F5’s Israel operations said.
The Israeli cybersecurity sector is made up of around 500 companies: publicly traded gants like CheckPoint Software Technologies and CyberArk alongside private companies like Imperva, SentinelOne, Cybereason Labs, Forescout Technologies, and Snyk. Israel is second only to the United States in the global share of active cyber companies: 59% of cyber companies operate in the U.S., while 13% operate in Israel. The other 28% are dispersed over more than 100 different countries. In addition, foreign cyber companies like Palo Alto Networks have Israeli founders or operate large R&D centers in Israel. At the start of 2021, Israel is in an excellent opening position. The local industry is robust and attracts many investments, can lead to a significant increase in exports, and create new jobs and professions.

Good. Being at the bleeding edge helps when one doesn’t want to lose the existential war. Thank goodness for the arrival of all those highly educated Soviet Jews, who blossomed in their new environment,

article didn't mention the issues of the deep net and the dark net
Israeli companies, e.g., Cyber Sixgill are leading edge on this also.
Unfortunately, being leading edge, a few unscrupulous people can take advantage of their talent and position and this has happened a few times. Tal Advance Tech got in trouble for this two years ago.

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Jordan's Prince Hamza pledged allegiance to King Abdullah II on Monday as the monarch accepted mediation over a rift within the royal family that saw the prince placed under house arrest, the palace said.
The government has accused Hamza, an ex-crown prince and half-brother of King Abdullah, of a "wicked" plot and involvement in a seditious conspiracy to "destabilize the kingdom's security".
Hamza, detained along with at least 16 others, had earlier struck a defiant tone saying he had been placed under house arrest inside his Amman palace, but insisting he would not obey orders restricting his movement.
But in an apparent easing of the palace turmoil, the 41-year-old prince pledged his backing to King Abdullah.
"I will remain... faithful to the legacy of my ancestors, walking on their path, loyal to their path and their message and to His Majesty," he said in a signed letter, quoted by the palace.
"I will always be ready to help and support His Majesty the King and his Crown Prince," he is quoted as writing.
Hamza's statement came shortly after the palace said Abdullah had agreed to enter mediation "to handle the question of Prince Hamza within the framework of the Hashemite (ruling) family".
The job of mediator was handed to his uncle, Prince Hassan, himself a former heir to the throne.
King Abdullah, 59, named Hamza crown prince in 1999, in line with their father's dying wish, but later stripped him of the title and named his own son Prince Hussein heir to the throne.
Washington, Gulf countries, Egypt and the Arab League ...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing... have all pledged support for King Abdullah, and a similar message came from Russia on Monday.
US State Department front man Ned Price on Monday reiterated Washington's backing of Abdullah.
"We value his integrity, his vision," Price told news hounds. "The king has our full support."
"This sedition was nipped in the bud," Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said Sunday, charging the plotters had linked up with foreign parties.
Safadi declined to identify the alleged foreign parties, but he said an individual "with links to foreign intelligence services" had offered to fly Hamza's wife out of the country.
