Righthaven Tells Court It's Rejected by All Bonding Companies
[Bloomberg News] Righthaven LLC, the Las Vegas entity that has filed more than 150 copyright-infringement cases,
276 is more than 150...
told a court it can't raise the money to post a $34,000 bond.

In what it characterized as an "urgent motion," Righthaven told the court Oct. 9 that none of the bonding companies will permit it to secure the bond the court said the company must post as part of an appeal.

The bonding companies Righthaven has contacted ask for "full cash payment, certain forms of collateral held by the company or irrevocable letters of credit." Righthaven claims it is unable to meet these requirements and that all of its operator capital "is being utilized to service its monthly operating expenses."

The defendant Righthaven sued is "clearly seeking to seize and liquidate Righthaven's intangible intellectual property assets," the company claimed. Righthaven said that all of its assigned copyrights "are in jeopardy of seizure and liquidation through judgment enforcement efforts by Hoehn."

Righthaven sued Wayne Hoehn in federal court in Las Vegas Jan. 11, complaining he had posted content on his blog originally appearing in Stephens Media Group's Las Vegas Review- Journal. The court was skeptical about Righthaven's right to pursue copyright-infringement cases, saying the company doesn't appear to own the copyright to the material it says is infringed, and awarding Hoehn attorney fees.

In its Oct. 9 filing, Righthaven said that if the appeals court doesn't issue a stay order, Hoehn's efforts to collect his attorney fee award could "dismantle the company and end its ability to operate as a going concern." Hoehn's lawyers have "given no indication of a willingness to accept any structured settlement payments toward satisfaction of the judgment," Righthaven said.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Arab-Israeli Model Takes on Critics... in a Bikini
[An Nahar] As make-up artists and hairdressers circle her, Huda Naccache calmly discusses the media frenzy sparked by her appearance, clad in a skimpy bikini, on the cover of an Arab-Israeli magazine.

The long-limbed 22-year-old, who comes from the mixed Israeli and Arab port city of Haifa, doesn't see the cover shoot for Lilac magazine as anything out of the ordinary.

For her, it was simply another part of a campaign in the run up to the Miss Earth competition in Thailand this December, where she will represent Israel.

But the cover shoot was the first time an Arabic magazine here has put a model in a bikini on its cover, and the first time an Arab-Israeli model has been featured on a front page in so little clothing.

The image in question featured a defiant-looking Naccache in a black-sequined bikini, an open white shirt draped over her shoulders and her thumbs hooked in the sides of her bikini bottom.

"Miss Huda Rocks This Earth!" blared the caption in English.

The media buzz was immediate, but Naccache brushes it aside with a flick of her long, dark hair.

"I have a family that supports me very much and had no objections whatsoever to me appearing on the cover in a bikini," she says, seated in front of a mirror in a white and red string two-piece, prepping for another shoot.

"My father was very pleased when he saw it for the first time," she adds. "He said it was very beautiful and wished me good luck."

Tall and willowy, with strong eyebrows and graceful cheekbones, Naccache easily fits the profile for the modeling world.

But much of Israel's Arab minority still holds deeply-traditional values, so even though Naccache has appeared on the cover of Lilac magazine in the past, it wasn't until she stripped down to a bikini that the media began to pay attention.

After the edition hit the newsstands, it prompted a string of articles and a lengthy television report on Israel's Channel 10 news station.

Some in Israel even dubbed it the "Arab bikini revolution," in reference to the wave of uprisings that have swept the Middle East, suggesting Naccache was taking on conservative Arab social norms.

The Channel 10 report featured lingering shots of Naccache's multi-page spread in Lilac, before asking the mother of another Arab-Israeli model what she thought about the pictures.

The woman shook her head. "I would never let my daughter have her picture taken in a bikini," she said.

Naccache has mixed feelings about the attention.

"Even though the media coverage was great, it all had a certain point of view they wanted to prove," she told Agence La Belle France Presse. "They cut out all the parts where they didn't like what I said."

Much of the coverage focused on the fact that Naccache is Christian, suggesting a Mohammedan model would have faced greater cultural hurdles. It is a charge she roundly dismisses.

"I am the first Christian to wear a bikini on the front page, but there were two Mohammedan models who did it," she said. "That says it all, and there's really no need to elaborate."

Lilac's editor Yara Mashour defends both Naccache and the cover shot, saying her magazine has been pushing boundaries since it was established in 2000 in Nazareth, home to the biggest Arab-Israeli population in the Jewish state.

"Huda, in my opinion, is probably the only Arab model in this country who is a true professional. She has world-class qualities," she told AFP.

"We both liked the idea of having a new sort of cover for the magazine, with a different look," she said, adding that Naccache's religion was irrelevant.

"It had nothing do with religion at all," she said. "And since her cover, Arab girls from all sorts of different backgrounds have been coming to me and offering to do something similar.

Mashour said despite the buzz, the reaction from the Arab-Israeli community had been fairly positive.

"The Arab community accepted it in a democratic fashion. I know there were debates about her appearing as she did, but it happened in a modern way: some were in favour and some were against, but there were no problems," she said.

Indeed, some of the most strident criticism of the shoot was directed not at Naccache, but at the Israeli media's coverage of her.

Feminist Arab-Israeli writer Areen Hawari said the Israeli media had devoted airtime to the subject, rather than any number of other issues affecting Arabs in the Jewish state, because "it satisfied the desire of the Israeli viewer to peep at Arab society while affirming and reassuring them of their own superiority."

Naccache brushes aside such comments, saying she is focusing on her future.

"My life's dream is first to finish my degree in geography and archaeology," she said.

"And then I want to be successful, to be a world famous model."

Proposed List Of Demands For Occupy Wall St Movement
[Occupy Wall Street.orgDemand one: Restoration of the living wage. This demand can only be met by ending "Freetrade" by re-imposing trade tariffs on all imported goods entering the American market to level the playing field for domestic family farming and domestic manufacturing as most nations that are dumping cheap products onto the American market have radical wage and environmental regulation advantages. Another policy that must be instituted is raise the minimum wage to twenty dollars an hr.

Demand two: Institute a universal single payer healthcare system. To do this all private insurers must be banned from the healthcare market as their only effect on the health of patients is to take money away from doctors, nurses and hospitals preventing them from doing their jobs and hand that money to wall st. investors.

Demand three: Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment.

Demand four: Free college education.

Demand five: Begin a fast track process to bring the fossil fuel economy to an end while at the same bringing the alternative energy economy up to energy demand.

Demand six: One trillion dollars in infrastructure (Water, Sewer, Rail, Roads and Bridges and Electrical Grid) spending now.

Demand seven: One trillion dollars in ecological restoration planting forests, reestablishing wetlands and the natural flow of river systems and decommissioning of all of America's nuclear power plants.

Demand eight: Racial and gender equal rights amendment.

Demand nine: Open borders migration. anyone can travel anywhere to work and live.

Demand ten: Bring American elections up to international standards of a paper ballot precinct counted and recounted in front of an independent and party observers system.

Demand eleven: Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all. Debt forgiveness of sovereign debt, commercial loans, home mortgages, home equity loans, credit card debt, student loans and personal loans now! All debt must be stricken from the "Books." World Bank Loans to all Nations, Bank to Bank Debt and all Bonds and Margin Call Debt in the stock market including all Derivatives or Credit Default Swaps, all 65 trillion dollars of them must also be stricken from the "Books." And I don't mean debt that is in default, I mean all debt on the entire planet period.

Demand twelve: Outlaw all credit reporting agencies.

Demand thirteen: Allow all workers to sign a ballot at any time during a union organizing campaign or at any time that represents their yeah or nay to having a union represent them in collective bargaining or to form a union.

These demands will create so many jobs it will be completely impossible to fill them without an open borders policy.

#3  Demand thirteen: Rainbow powered flying cars. That can drive themselves. And the governmint should pay for them. And you should get a new one every two weeks. And you get to pick the color. And they should have a tracking thing on them so the governmint knows where you are. So if you're not home they can deliver you your daily supply of governmint weed.

10/ Let us rig the ballots.
11/ Destroy ALL investment (the other side of debt).

These measure if enacted would kill millions of Americans through healthcare failure, destroy millions more jobs, lower every workers wages, make retirement impossible, make saving futile, make goods vastly more expensive, make Americans waste even more time being taught for no benefit and ensure that strikes cripple what little commerce does take place.

Obama Hits All-Time Low Among Blacks as Cain Surges Among Republicans
(CNSNews.com) - Gallup released new polling data today that showed African American presidential candidate Herman Cain's support was surging among Republicans even as President Barack B.O. Obama's job approval hit an all-time low among blacks.
Anyone for "Herman-Newt '12" bumper stickers?
In a poll of 1,064 Republicans and Republican-leaning independents conducted Oct. 3-7, 18 percent said they supported Cain for president. That put the former Godfathers Pizza CEO in a close second behind former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who placed first with 20 percent.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Council of Boskone, Helmuth had turned a paler shade of blue. Star-A-Star had struck again...
only 80 percent of blacks told Gallup in the week that ended on Oct. 9 that they approved of the way Obama was handling his job as president. Previously, Obama's lowest approval among blacks had been the 81 percent he had received in the weeks that ended on March 6 and August 14 of this year.

Obama's highest all-time approval among blacks was 96 percent--a level it reached during five different weeks of 2009, Obama's first year in office.

Former Gov. Rick Perry placed third after Romney and Cain in the Republican presidential primary poll that Gallup released today. Perry garnered the support of 15 percent, down from the 31-percent support he had in the previous Gallup Republican presidential poll, which was conducted Sept. 15-18.

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, with 8 percent, was fourth in the latest Gallup poll. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Rep. Michele Bachmann tied for fifth with 5 percent, former Sen. Rick Santorum was next with 2 percent, followed by former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman with 1 percent.

Chicago Anarchists Protest
Some demonstrators gathered outside a meeting of the Mortgage Bankers Association, while others came together near a luxury hotel where a U.S. futures exchange trade association was holding a conference.

Police estimated 3,000 protesters at the events organized by the "Stand Up Chicago" coalition, which includes teachers, trade union officials and religious leaders. The group said on its website that its goal was to reclaim "our jobs, our homes and our schools."

Chanting "we are the 99 percent," hundreds of protesters gathered in front of the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank. They carried signs demanding "Liquidate the Fed" and "Repeal Bush tax cuts." Another read: "I smell a general strike."

He said the demonstration would focus on foreclosures, unemployment and lack of municipal funding for key services.

Police arrested 27 demonstrators, many wearing Chicago Teachers Union T-shirts, who linked arms and sat down in the middle of the street as they chanted "Save our schools, save our homes!"

Several destitute protesters each paid $2,245 to gain admission to the Mortgage Bankers Association event, organizers said. One protester got to a microphone during a panel discussion and asked Michael Heid, president of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, a top national mortgage lender: "How do you sleep at night?"
I'm sure he was devastated.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, speaking at an evening event on social trends, said: "There is a major economic restructuring going on where the middle class in this country are feeling an angst they haven't felt."
Good thing you got out last year, eh, Rahm?
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, speaking at the same event, said the anti-Wall Street protests were tied to a lack of attention on jobs by Washington politicians. "It grows out of the anger people feel. People want focus and attention and passion on jobs," Reed said.
They don't like 'redistribution'?
Chicago has already seen weeks of daily protests outside the Federal Reserve Bank by "Occupy Chicago," an echo of the much larger Wall Street protests. "Occupy Chicago" demonstrators planned to join the "Stand Up Chicago" demonstration.

"Some people say we are the Tea Party for the Democratic Party," said Emilio Baez, a 17-year-old high school student, referring to the U.S. conservative political movement that had a major impact on the 2010 congressional elections. "We are the working class, for a mass movement of democracy," he said, his voice hoarse.
Where are the Papier-mâché puppets?

#1  "Save OUR Schools" Yes. They are union schools, not the people. The people are just extorted to pay for them.

You want a school you can call your own? You have to pay for it yourself, and have schools competing for parents (not bureaucrats) to send their own children there.

#2  Are they really anarchists if BHO, Pelosi, Bloomberg, Rahm, and the other Democrats who are in power have come out publicly in support of them?

#7  The steely resolve of these yout will be tested when the winds of November come blowing... Predictive Analytics suggests we won't see them again until the daffodils are blooming during the G8 and NATO meetings are held in the spring.
They will all depart in time for Bonnaro and the beginning of the festival season.
