Minneapolis suburb OKs roadmap for policing changes after Daunte Wright shooting
[NYPOST] BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. — Elected officials in a Minneapolis suburb where a police officer fatally shot Daunte Wright during a traffic stop in April approved a resolution that puts the city on track to major changes to its policing practices.

The Brooklyn Center City Council voted 4-1 Saturday in favor of a resolution that would create new divisions of unarmed civilian employees to handle non-moving traffic violations and respond to mental health crises. It also limits situations in which officers can make arrests and requires more de-escalation efforts by police before using deadly force. In addition, a new Department of Community Safety and Violence Prevention would be formed to oversee efforts on community health and public safety, led by a director with public health expertise.

The city attorney and mayor have said that adopting the resolution commits the city to change, though it is not a final action.

The resolution "will establish a new north star for our community, one that will keep all of us safe," said Brooklyn Center Mayor Mike Elliott. "It says that we, as your elected leaders, are committing ourselves. And that you can hold us accountable for achieving those goals."

A Sinai tribal leader has praised the stance of Egypt's politicianship on the blatant and systematic attacks by the Israeli occupation forces against the brotherly Paleostinian people in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Jerusalem, state-run news agency
...and if you can't trust the state-run news agency who can you believe?...
MENA reported.

In a statement on Sunday, head of the Sinai Tribes Union and Chairman of Abnaa Sinai (Sons of Sinai) Company Ibrahim El-Argany also lauded the Egyptian politicianship decision to open the Rafah crossing to receive the injured from the Gaza Strip.

Earlier on Sunday, MENA reported that a number of injured Paleostinians have crossed from the enclave into the Egyptian side, where they will receive treatment at Egyptian hospitals.

The news agency added that a number of equipped ambulances were there at the only crossing point between Egypt and Paleostine's Gaza Strip to transport the injured to hospitals after classifying their health conditions.

"Egypt's historical stance towards Paleostine and it's just and legitimate cause calls for pride, particularly in light of the state of international silence and turning a blind eye to the crimes of the [Israeli] occupation forces," El-Argany said.

He stressed that the Egyptian position and its endeavour towards preserving the rights of the Paleostinian people and their cause "is a main and pivotal goal" to Egypt.

"Egypt, with its regional and international weight, and thanks to the wisdom and moves of its president, is able to have the final say in ending these brutal attacks against the brothers in the Gaza Strip and stopping the bloodshed," the head of the Sinai Tribes Union said.

Moreover, El-Argany called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in stopping such crimes and protecting the Paleostinian people and their rights.

Within hours, in coordination with the concerned authorities, convoys containing food and others containing medicines and medical supplies will be sent to the brothers in the Gaza Strip, El-Argany noted.

This, he added, coincides with the preparations of North Sinai hospitals and the rest of the Egyptian hospitals to receive the injured from the Israeli attacks on Paleostinian civilians.

The action-reaction loop, which initially started on Monday, between Israel and Paleostine’s Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", brought the corpse count in Paleostine to 209 — of which 188 in Gaza, including 55 children and 33 women — health officials said, while Israel has reported 10 dead.

As many as 5,588 Paleostinians — 1,225 in Gaza and 4,363 in the West Bank — have been injured since Monday as a result of the violent mostly peaceful Israeli aggression, according to official Paleostinian numbers.

The almost week-long Paleostinian-Israeli escalation has been deemed the most serious since 2014 as Hamas fired rockets at Jerusalem and Tel Aviv in retaliation for hostilities by Israeli police against Paleostinian protesters near al-Aqsa Mosque, Israeli air strikes targeting civilian buildings in the Gaza Strip, and most importantly the Israeli eviction of Paleostinians from East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

US for 3rd time blocking Security Council joint statement calling for ceasefire — diplomats tell ToI
[IsraelTimes] For the third time in a week, the US is blocking a joint statement from the Security Council calling for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,, two diplomats involved tell The Times of Israel.

The statement was introduced by Norway, Tunisia and China following today’s emergency session on the escalation in Israel and Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. and criticized both sides for the ongoing violence.

The US mission did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the matter. Member states still have until Monday at noon to mull over statement, and negotiations over the matter are ongoing, two Security Council diplomats told ToI.

During the open meeting, the US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that the US is "working tirelessly through diplomatic channels to try and bring an end to this conflict."

In her remarks to the council, Thomas-Greenfield called on Hamas to immediately stop firing rockets at Israel. Notably, she did not mention Israel’s right to defend itself, as senior US officials have emphasized in their respective statements on the violence this past week. Critics in the progressive wing of the party claimed the statement offered a blank check to Israel to continue its counterstrikes in Gaza, even as the civilian casualty toll grew.

Fourteen of the 15 Security Council members sought to issue a joint statement, which requires unanimous approval, after closed emergency meetings on Monday and Wednesday. They were rebuffed by the US, which said it wanted more time for its own diplomatic efforts to play out, according to several Security Council diplomats. The statement would have called for an immediate ceasefire while condemning both sides for the violence.

When council members moved to hold another meeting at the of last week, the US mission blocked the effort for the same reason, saying it preferred to wait until Tuesday. After pressure from multiple missions, the US agreed to move up the meeting to Sunday.

Asked after the meeting if the US planned to back the joint statement being drafted, an official at the US mission told ToI that "right now we are focused on the intensive diplomatic efforts underway, including those Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield discussed at today’s Security meeting."

Speaking to news hounds following the emergency session, Mona Juul from Norway’s foreign ministry said her government "strongly believes that the Security Council should speak with one voice and send a clear message urging an immediate cessation of violence and reconfirming our support to the two-state solution. Norway will continue our dedicated efforts to pursue council action."

Turkey, PKK publish casualty figures for ongoing operation in Kurdistan Region
[Rudaw] Both Ankara and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have released casualty figures, three weeks into The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
’s military offensive in the Kurdistan Region.

Turkey’s Defence Ministry announced on Friday the death of a ninth soldier, killed in the dual operations of Claw-Thunderbolt and Claw-Lightning.

The two campaigns, launched on April 23, are focused on the Metina, Avashin, and Basyan areas of Duhok province, near the border with Turkey.

Murat Karayilan, a senior PKK commander, told the PKK-affiliated Sterk TV on Friday that they have lost 18 fighters since the beginning of the operations and have lost contact with six others.

This year, the Kurdistan Region has seen more deadly festivities than Turkey, according to figures compiled by the International Crisis Group, which tracks the conflict. In the first four months of 2021, there have been 67 fatalities, 55 of them (or 82 percent) in the Kurdistan Region. The dead are 19 Ottoman Turkish soldiers, 34 PKK fighters, and two civilians.

Since the decades-long conflict was reignited in 2015 following the collapse of peace efforts, 5,372 people have been killed, 773 of them (or about 15 percent) in the Kurdistan Region, including 43 civilians.

In its latest operation, Turkey has set up several military bases in Duhok province in a bid to cut off PKK routes into Turkey and Syria. Ottoman Turkish forces have carried out intense bombardments of suspected PKK positions, which have driven residents of two villages to flee their homes.

Mansour Abbas: We will repair synagogues torched by Arabs
[IsraelTimes] In a Hebrew-language interview with the Kan public broadcaster earlier today, Ra’am party
...the party of the Islamic Movement - Southern Branch, the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood in Israel...
leader Mansour Abbas says Arab Israelis will "lead" efforts to repair and rehabilitate synagogues burned down by violent mostly peaceful Arab rioters in recent days in the central city of Lod.
...many of whom are no doubt part of the 10% of Israeli Arabs affiliated with the Islamic Movement, whether the soft jihad of the political Southern Branch or the hard jihad of the sword of the militant Northern Branch.
"We have to notice that all the violence was against the backdrop of the entry [of Israeli police] to the al-Aqsa Mosque" on Monday, Abbas tells Kan.
That certainly is the taqqiya perspective.
"We must keep our distance from the holy places, leave them out of the conflict."

He adds: "I spoke with Arab residents of Lod themselves. I heard from them that there were certain attacks on a number of synagogues. I’m speaking in their name now. I’m telling you that we will work to rehabilitate the synagogues that were harmed. Of course we condemn all attacks. We will take responsibility for this [repairing the synagogues]. We will lead on this. We have no problem with that. It’s our duty to protect the holy places of Jews and Moslems and Christians."
No. It is the duty of the government of the Jewish state of Israel to protect all. It is the duty of the Muslims to be peaceful, law-abiding citizens, at which the Muslims of Lod have failed. Tithe yourselves to pay for the repairs and turn the rioters over to the police for trial and punishment —that’s your duty.
Abbas has called for greater Arab-Jewish cooperation and integration over the past few months, including in his party’s bid to join, for the first time, a coalition of Zionist political parties.

Arab Israeli group declares protest strike for Tuesday
[IsraelTimes] The Arab High Follow-Up Committee declares a mass strike in Arab cities and towns around Israel on Tuesday in protest of Israeli policies, including what they deem "continued aggression against Gazoo

and Jerusalem."

The committee, a political body that unites Arab Israeli policymakers across the political spectrum, says that it will coordinate "peaceful activities" with the help of local municipalities and activists.

The Follow-Up Committee also condemns Israeli policies in the flashpoint East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, as well as mob violence against Arabs in cities and towns across the country. Israel has seen significant civil unrest in recent days, with Jewish and Arab mobs targeting the other ethnic group.

Israel envoy tells UNSC conflict was 'premeditated' by Hamas
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Israel on Sunday told the UN Security Council that the recent deadly violence was premeditated by Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",, urging condemnation of the holy warriors during a session on the crisis.

"It was completely premeditated by Hamas in order to gain political power," said Israel’s ambassador to the world body, Gilad Erdan.

Erdan said that Hamas escalated tensions due to internal Paleostinian political maneuvering after the Paleostinian Authority president, the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....
, delayed long-awaited elections.

Hamas said its rocket fire into Israel was in response to Israeli forces’ entry into the al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem, amid high tensions over moves to evict Paleostinian families in the city.

"Do you really believe that this property dispute is what caused Hamas to launch these large-scale attacks on the people of Israel?" Erdan said.

He thanked the United States, which had delayed the UN session, and he called on the world body to condemn Hamas.

"Hamas targets civilians; Israel targets terrorists," Erdan said.

"Israel makes every effort to avoid civilian casualties; Hamas makes every effort to increase civilian casualties."

Netanyahu adviser: Condemn Hamas' use of journalists as human shields
[NY Post] Instead of outrageously criticizing Israel for targeting a terror complex disguised as an office building, it is Hamas that must be strongly condemned for its deliberate use of foreign journalists as human shields.

On Saturday, the Israeli Air Force rightfully struck an emptied 12-story tower in Gaza that was utilized by Hamas as a center for waging its latest murderous campaign on Israeli civilians. The terror tower was used as a Hamas operations base for gathering intelligence for attacks against Israelis, researching and developing weapons and positioning equipment to hamper IDF operations.

The jihad building was only targeted after the IDF first warned civilians inside about an impending strike and waited enough time for the occupants to entirely evacuate. Israeli warnings included calls and SMS to the building’s residents and "roof knocker" explosives that make loud noises but do not cause real damage.

The IDF watched as Hamas and the Iran-backed Islamic Jihad terror groups utilized the warning time to remove objects from the building, perhaps munitions to kill more Israelis.

Hamas provides no such warning when they daily commit the double war crimes of firing rockets indiscriminately into Israeli cities and launching those rockets from Palestinian civilian zones. As of this writing, Hamas fired over 2,900 rockets from Gaza into Israel, carried out border attacks and instigated violent riots across the Jewish state, killing ten Israelis including two children.

This week’s case is far from the first time Hamas used journalists as human shields. During the 2014 Gaza War, Hamas was caught red-handed launching rockets 50 yards from a Gaza hotel known to be housing foreign journalists. The same rocket launcher was positioned about 100 yards from a United Nations building flying the UN flag outside.

Imagine if Gaza rockets were landing in Washington, not Israel
[JPost] Well, not a good time to make that case
IDF Spokesperson Brig.-Gen. Hidai Zilberman deflects criticism of the bombing of media office building in the Gaza Strip.

IDF Spokesperson Brig.-Gen. Hidai Zilberman deflected criticism of the military's actions in the Gaza Strip on Sunday and particularly the bombing of a building with media offices on Saturday.

"I want to see what would happen if one rocket was fired on Washington. They are firing salvos toward civilian populations," Zilberman said when asked about the strike on the building that was home to the Associated Press and Al Jazeera offices in Gaza. "We are in the middle of an operation. If Hamas and PIJ think they can hide behind the media, their buildings are not something they can hide behind."

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Hamas Official Says No Need for 'Rockets from South Lebanon', Hezbollah Sitting on Hands
[AnNahar] A senior Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, official has said that the Paleostinian movement is not encouraging anyone to fire rockets at Israel from south Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...

The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. has rockets that can reach entire Paleostine and we don’t need the firing of rockets from south Lebanon," the official, Ali Barakeh, said in a TV interview.

"The Lebanese youths’ move to go to the border (and stage protests) is a very important step and we welcome it, in addition to the stances of the (Lebanese) president, caretaker PM and parliament speaker in support of Paleostine," Barakeh added.

"We call on everyone to stand by us but we are not asking anyone to open fronts and subject their countries to danger," the Paleostinian official added.

He also noted that "coordination with Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
is excellent" and that there are "meetings, consultations and cooperation" between the two movements.

Barakeh's remarks come after three rockets were fired from south Lebanon at northern Israel. The Israeli army said the rockets landed in the sea without causing any damage.

Three rockets have also been fired from Syria at Israel, two of which landed in an open area and the third inside Syrian territory, the Israeli army said.

Report: Hezbollah has ‘no interest’ in Gaza conflict spreading to Lebanon

[IsraelTimes] An unnamed Lebanese official tells the London-based Arabic-language newspaper Asharq al-Awsat that Hezbollah does not want to expand the Gazoo

"The situation on the border with Israel will remain under control because Hezbollah has no interest to expand the conflict," the source is quoted as saying.

Iran prepares for oil market return as US talks advance
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iran

is preparing to ramp up global oil sales as talks to lift sanctions show signs of progress. But even if a deal is struck, the flow of additional crude into the market may be gradual.

State-controlled National Iranian Oil Co. has been priming oil fields -- and customer relationships -- so it can increase exports if an accord is clinched, officials said. In the most optimistic estimates, the country could return to pre-sanctions production levels of almost 4 million barrels a day in as little as three months. It could also tap a flotilla’s worth of oil that’s hoarded away in storage.

But there are still many hurdles to overcome before than can happen. Any agreement must fully dismantle the gamut of US barriers on trade, shipping and insurance involving Iranian entities. Even then buyers may still be reluctant, according to Mohammad Ali Khatibi, a former official at NIOC.

"Our return may be a gradual process rather than swift and sudden -- it can’t happen overnight, Khatibi said in an interview. It may be "a protracted process, in part due to the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)

pandemic that’s significantly hurt demand.

The pace of Iran’s comeback may prove critical for the global oil market. While fuel consumption is on the rebound, it remains depressed by lockdowns and new virus outbreaks. Extra Iranian supplies would impose a burden on its counterparts in the OPEC+ alliance, which has toiled for more than a year to clear a lingering supply glut.

#1  People keep asking what triggered the recent round of active hostilities between Hamas & Israel. IMO, it's the Iran's (Hamas' paymaster) anticipated return to solvency.
