Moment cop shoots dead black man who flashed a knife and said 'I'm gonna stab him'
[Daily Mail] "He was dead. Why did you shoot him?"
* Hasani Best, 39, was killed by police at his apartment in Asbury Park, New Jersey
* The attorney general is investigating the shooting which happened on August 21
* Footage raised questions as to whether Best posed immediate danger to officers

Bodycam footage recorded the moment an officer fatally shot a black man who produced a knife and said 'I'm gonna stab him' during tense stand-off.

Hasani Best, 39, was killed at his apartment in Asbury Park, New Jersey, after police responded to reports of a domestic dispute.

The attorney general is investigating the shooting, which happened on August 21, after the video raised questions as to whether Best posed an immediate danger to officers when he was shot.

#1  They were in a confined space and he drew a knife. They had a split second to decide, and they not only had previous run-ins with the idiot, he had shrugged off a Taser already.

#2  Yeah, but somebody found the bodycam Footage raised questions as to whether Best posed immediate danger to officers.

I suggest that somebody be sentenced to 30 years as a cop working the beat in some urban hellhole.

Cyberattacks targeting U.S. elections
[Blogs.Microsoft.com] In recent weeks, Microsoft has detected cyberattacks targeting people and organizations involved in the upcoming presidential election, including unsuccessful attacks on people associated with both the Trump and Biden campaigns, as detailed below. We have and will continue to defend our democracy against these attacks through notifications of such activity to impacted customers, security features in our products and services, and legal and technical disruptions. The activity we are announcing today makes clear that foreign activity groups have stepped up their efforts targeting the 2020 election as had been anticipated, and is consistent with what the U.S. government and others have reported. We also report here on attacks against other institutions and enterprises worldwide that reflect similar adversary activity.

We have observed that:

  • Strontium, operating from Russia, has attacked more than 200 organizations including political campaigns, advocacy groups, parties and political consultants

  • Zirconium, operating from China, has attacked high-profile individuals associated with the election, including people associated with the Joe Biden for President campaign and prominent leaders in the international affairs community

  • Phosphorus, operating from Iran, has continued to attack the personal accounts of people associated with the Donald J. Trump for President campaign

The majority of these attacks were detected and stopped by security tools built into our products. We have directly notified those who were targeted or compromised so they can take action to protect themselves. We are sharing more about the details of these attacks today, and where we’ve named impacted customers, we’re doing so with their support.

What we’ve seen is consistent with previous attack patterns that not only target candidates and campaign staffers but also those they consult on key issues. These activities highlight the need for people and organizations involved in the political process to take advantage of free and low-cost security tools to protect themselves as we get closer to election day.

Portland rejects permit for a Proud Boys alt-right rally citing coronavirus concerns as expected crowd of 10,000 is too large for social distancing

#1  They should go as fellow protesters. If fights break out among protesters so be it.

#2  No, the Proud Boys should announce their intent to go anyway, and then simply not show up.

They did that in Philly and the "counter-demonstrators" rioted anyway. Ended up beating one of their own.
