Afghanistan
Afghan Taliban Offer Govt. Workers 'Hotline' Number to Defect
"We're number two. We try harder."
[AnNahar] The Afghan Taliban have announced a 24-hour telephone "hotline" and email addresses for any babus government employees wishing to defect to them, as the tech-savvy bandidos forces of Evil try to bolster public support.

"The Islamic Emirate will provide safety to anybody who defects from the Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
puppet regime," the Taliban said in a statement on their website on Sunday, using their formal name.

"They can get in touch with us 24/7 through these phone numbers and email addresses," it added, listing two for each.

The move demonstrates the Taliban's efforts to boost public support for their resilient but unpopular insurgency following a string of defections to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. group in recent months.

It marks a rare attempt by the Taliban to reach out to government officials, frequently targeted in growing bully boy attacks that have sent casualties soaring.

When AFP called one of the numbers, a bad boy representative who identified himself as Mullah Jalid said they had received more than 20 calls from babus government employees since the statement was posted.

"They all said labayk (Arabic for 'we are at your service') to our invitation," Jalid said, a claim that was impossible to verify independently.

"This invitation is for all the employees of the government, military and civilian. They are welcome to come to us and we will protect them from the invaders and the stooge government."

The statement, posted by the bully boy group's "invitation and guidance commission", also mentioned a radio communication code to help establish contact with the bully boys.

Once seen as uneducated thugs, the Taliban have developed a media-savvy PR team who use digital technology to reach out to audiences worldwide.

When the Taliban ruled Afghanistan between 1996 and 2001, almost all electronic products were outlawed as un-Islamic.

Photographs of living things were illegal and ownership of a video player could lead to a public lashing.

But the Taliban have avidly embraced electronic communication and social media in recent years as a recruitment tool and to promote their propaganda.

However their efforts pale in comparison to the Islamic State group, which has actively exploited social media to lure thousands of imported muscle to Syria and Iraq.

The Taliban are seeking to halt defections to the Islamic State after some forces of Evil adopted the IS flag to rebrand themselves as a more lethal force as NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A cautionary tale of cost-benefit analysis....
troops depart.

Last Tuesday the Taliban warned the leader of the Islamic State group against waging a parallel insurgency in Afghanistan, after reported festivities with bandidos forces of Evil loyal to IS.

Senators Warn Against Expansion of Daesh Fighters in Nangarhar
[Tolo News] A number of Afghan senators on Sunday voiced concerns over the deteriorating security situation involving Daesh bully boyz in some districts of eastern Nangarhar

province.

According to the senators, Daesh fighters are operating in 15 districts in Nangarhar but they say the entire eastern section of the country is vulnerable.

Senators warned that the security scenario of the province is deteriorating and government must act fast to overcome the fragile situation. They say that Daesh has beheaded two people in Nangarhar recently.

They also called on government to take steps to prevent Daesh from recruiting new soldiers in the province.

"Daesh associated fighters practically operate in 15 districts of Nangarhar province," senator Lotufllah Baba said.

"Expansion of Daesh fighters must be curbed, otherwise the consequences will be catastrophic," another senator Farhad Sakhi warned.

On the issue of the government's anti-terror strategy, the senators asked leaders of the National Unity Government (NUG) to also tackle the security issues posed by Daesh on the Kabul

"We need to come with a comprehensive plan and talk directly with the US and Pakistain about the issue. Because we face threats from two sides including Daesh and the Taliban, I don't understand what is really happening," senator Zalmai Zabuli said on Sunday.

In addition, senate speaker Fazel Hadi Moslemyar called on the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) to take decisive steps against Lions of Islam associated with Daesh and eliminate them.

"Government and the security institutions are obliged to eliminate the enemy wherever they find it," Moslemyar said.

Only last week, local officials of Nangarhar said that hundreds of families have been displaced in the province following festivities between Taliban and Daesh hard boys.

Ahmad Zia Abduzai, Provindal Governor front man confirmed that the families have been displaced in Bati Kot district. He did not have numbers but said there was urgent need for aid for these people.

Officials also said that both sides have sustained massive casualty tolls in the past month.

He warned in an interview with Russian state-funded television network (RT) that the rise of newly-emerged Daesh Death Eaters in Afghanistan would threaten neighboring Russia and China.

The ex-president believes the expansion of Daesh -- which has seized several cities in Iraq and Syria -- was impossible "without a foreign backing."

"So, if you hear ever in the coming days, or months, or years that Daesh is on the rise in Afghanistan, and is strong and expanding militarily, it will mean that it is a foreign-backed force intending to destabilize the region, particularly Central Asia, China and Russia," Karzai said.

Egypt to open Rafah crossing for three days
[AA.TR] Egyptian authorities will open Rafah crossing with the Gazoo Strip on Tuesday for three days, a Paleostinian official said.

"Egyptian authorities have informed the Paleostinian side that the Rafah crossing will be opened in both directions for three days starting on Tuesday until Thursday," Paleostinian Authority (PA) border chief Nazmi Mehanna told Anadolu Agency.

"Traveling will be for students, patients and people who have residence permits abroad and foreign passports," he added.

Egypt opened the Rafah crossing on June 13 for one week.

Cairo has tightened its grip on the border with the blockaded Gazoo Strip since 2013, following the ouster of elected President Mohammed Morsi in a military coup.

The long periods of closure at the crossing, Gazoo's only point of access to the outside world not under Israeli control, have made life even more difficult for Gazoo's roughly 1.9 million residents.
According to al Ahram:
The Egyptian authorities decided to reopen the crossing in order to allow stranded passengers to pass through it and to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid, MENA said.

Chad's ban on Islamic veil after attacks divides Muslims
[AlAhram] Chad's decision to ban women from wearing the Islamic veil, which came two days after bloody suicide kabooms hit the capital, has divided Moslems but the government defends it as part of an anti-terror strategy.

"Wearing the burqa must stop immediately from today," Prime Minister Kalzeube Pahimi Deubet told religious leaders on Wednesday, after the twin bombings left 33 people dead and more than 100 others injured in the capital N'Djamena.

Nigerian Muslim group aims to help Boko Haram victims

activities in the country's northeastern region.

"We are mobilizing emergency aid and support for some of the 1.53 million internally displaced persons in Nigeria," Disu Kamor, executive director of MPAC, told Anadolu Agency.

Kamor said the group's actions represented Moslems' intervention in the plight of the displaced persons.

"Although Boko Haram are people preaching hate and violent ideology that has no place in Islam, some of the non-Moslems who have suffered untold hardships at their hands are given the misconceived belief that Boko Haram are Moslems who are promoting an Islamic cause and pursuing an Islamic agenda," he said.

"The purpose of this intervention campaign in the IDPs camps is therefore to bring relief to all the victims and to win hearts and minds," he added.

"MPAC is very proud that many Moslems, who utilize the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan to share their own blessings with others, will aid this campaign and facilitate its objectives," he stated.

Nigeria is plagued by a violent insurgency in the northeast that has endured six years, with tens of thousands killed and millions displaced.

MPAC describes itself as "an incorporated public service agency working for Moslem Defence, Moslem Empowerment and for promoting individual liberties, religious, civil and political rights of Moslems."

Saudi Arabia warns citizens against sharing 'faked' documents after Wikileaks release
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
Saturday urged its citizens not to distribute "documents that might be faked" in an apparent response to WikiLeaks' publication Friday of more than 60,000 documents it says are secret Saudi diplomatic communications.

The statement, made by the Foreign Ministry on its Twitter account, did not directly deny the documents' authenticity.

The released documents, which WikiLeaks said were embassy communications, emails between diplomats and reports from other state bodies, include discussions of Saudi Arabia's position regarding regional issues and efforts to influence media.

Rooters was not able to independently verify the authenticity of the released documents.

The world's top oil exporter, an absolute monarchy, is highly sensitive to public criticism and has imprisoned activists for publishing attacks on the ruling Al-Saud dynasty and senior holy mans. It maintains tight control over local media.

Since the 2011 Arab uprisings, the Saudi authorities have grown increasingly intolerant of dissent, apparently fearful that the instability sweeping neighboring countries will in turn hit the conservative Islamic kingdom.

Hundreds of new female genital mutilations reported in West Midlands
[BBC] More than 600 new victims of female genital mutilation (FGM) have been identified in seven months in the West Midlands.

According to a report from the West Midlands Police and Crime Panel, there were 632 new cases between September 2014 and March 2015. Between January and November last year 118 cases were referred to the West Midlands police force.

The panel said that a new task force to tackle mutilation will be launched. It added that further work could be carried out to consider "how to achieve best outcomes in tackling FGM."

Muslim Women's Network UK said flashbacks at least twice a week were common in the women it had been met with, the report stated.

Mass Arrests after Thousands Rally against Immigration in Bratislava
[AnNahar] At least 140 people were tossed in the clink
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
Saturday after violence broke out at an anti-immigration rally in Bratislava attended by thousands of people in protest at EU quotas on migrant numbers, local media said.

The rally, organized by an anti-Islam group called Stop the Islamisation of Europe, drew up to 8,000 people, according to Slovakian media. Police declined to give an estimate.

Protesters included Marian Kotleba, the governor of a central Slovakian region and founder of the far-right People's Party Our Slovakia.

"I wish you a nice, white day... we are here to save Slovakia," Kotleba told the crowd.

Scuffles erupted between small groups of demonstrators and police at the end of the rally, leading to 140 arrests, the country's TASR news agency reported, citing local police sources. Six police cars were damaged in the unrest.

Earlier, at least one protester was taken into custody after using tear gas against the police, and some in the crowd were seen shredding a blue EU flag offered by one of the speakers.

After the rally, a group of protesters attacked spectators at a cycling show, local media said, adding that unidentified attackers also threw bottles and stones at an Arab family at the main train station.

The protest was called after the European Commission said in May that Slovakia, an EU and NATO

member of 5.4 million people, should accept 471 migrants from Italia and 314 from Greece, as the bloc scrambles to deal with a surge in people illegally crossing the Mediterranean Sea in search of a better life.

On Friday, Prime Minister Robert Fico and his counterparts from neighboring Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland affirmed that their countries were against quotas on refugee numbers imposed by the EU.

A June poll by the Focus opinion research agency, published on Saturday, showed Slovaks perceived the current wave of migrants heading to Europe as the hottest international topic, being mentioned by almost 22 percent of 1,018 respondents.

"The vast majority of the Slovak public... perceives migrants as a security risk for the country, or as an economic or social burden," said Focus head Martin Slosiarik.

has been reprimanded by the Pentagon for steering a defense contract to a firm run by two of his former classmates at West Point, becoming the latest high-ranking officer to land in trouble for personal misconduct.

Maj. Gen. Dana J.H. Pittard, who as the Army's deputy commander for operations in the Middle East oversaw the training of Iraqi forces, was formally reprimanded in February after a three-year investigation by the Army's inspector general, according to documents obtained by The Washington Post under the Freedom of Information Act.

An Army review board is considering whether to strip him of his rank as a two-star general before he is allowed to retire this year.

Pittard, long considered a rising star in the Army, returned to the United States in April from his headquarters in Kuwait. The Army has not previously disclosed Pittard's departure, and an official Army Web site still lists him as its deputy commander in the Middle East. An Army spokeswoman said that he completed his assignment and that his return was not related to his misconduct.

Sirajul Haq calls for control on corruption

The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
Pakistain, Senator Sirajul Haq
...current head of the Pak Jamaat-e-Islami. Siraj was born in 1962 and entered politics shortly after that...
has said that the national institutions cannot be strong and function properly unless corruption is controlled.

Speaking at an Iftar dinner in the city on Friday, he said that corruption has spread all around and citizens cannot get their lawful acts done without bribing the concerned officials.

He said that revolt from the path of Allah was the root cause of all social evils as this had ended respect and regard for one another in the society.

"Everybody is out to cheat the other," He said

The JI chief said that poverty, unemployment and lawlessness has plunged the majority of the people into depression and frustration. The high objectives for which the country had been created have been pushed into the background and feudal lords acting as lackeys of the British have managed to come to power.

He said that an across the board accountability is essential for putting the country on the road to progress and prosperity. He said that the rulers are treating the masses as untouchables and there is no scheme for the public good on the government agenda.

Can Qadri again stir a political storm?
[NATION.PK] PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri
...Pak politician, and would-be dictator, founder and head of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran and Pakistain Awami Tehrik. He usually resides in Canada, but returns to Pakistain periodically to foam at the mouth and lead demonstrations. Depending on which way the wind's blowing, Qadri claims to be the author of Pak's blasphemy law. Other times he says it wasn't him...
, who is coming back to the country in the middle of a heightened political crisis, can lead a protest drive focusing the unmanageable energy issue, The Nation has learnt.

Dr Qadri after his return to country on June 29 could re-launch his 'Inqilab March', riding this time the rising tide of power loadshedding and other major issues facing the country, party sources told this correspondent on Saturday.

But, he is most likely to start his political activities after Eidul Fitr because the pace of the protest drive would be slow if launched during Ramazan, the sources said.

When contacted, Pakistain Awami Tehrik (PAT) central president Dr Raheeq Abbasi said, "We have (already) warned the government that PAT would come to the streets if the rulers failed to control loadshedding during Ramazan. Dr Qadri launched a successful Inqilab March earlier then why can't he lead another anti-government campaign?" He said: According to party plans made so far, PAT chief would hold informal meetings with party leaders on his return till 20th of Ramazan and later join the Seher-e-Aitkaaf till the end of the holy month. Dr Qadri is most likely to start political activities after Eid but extraordinary events could force the leadership to alter the plans.

Dr Abbasi said: PAT chief will land in Lahore on June 29 from London via Dubai at 7am. A special committee has been formed to oversee the arrangements to greet the party chairman. PAT activists in large numbers would accord a warm welcome to party chief on his arrival, while a comprehensive plan would be chalked out soon.

Iraq
Official: 7,000 join Iraqi Army to recapture Ramadi
[Rudaw] Thousands of volunteers have joined the Iraqi Army to participate in anti-ISIS campaign in Sunni-dominated province of Anbar, Sabah Karhut, head of the provincial council, announced on Saturday.

"At least 7,000 volunteers have been registered to join the army and participate in liberation of Ramadi," Karhut said.

Iraqi forces, backed by Shiite militias, and with support from local Sunni rustics have been struggling to recapture areas lost to the radical group in Iraq's largest province of Anbar.

"To fully control Anbar we need at least 20,000 soldiers to protect civilians and prevent threats pose by Daesh," he added, using Arabic acronym for ISIS.

Karhut evaluated the current situation of Anbar as improving with army and security forces allegedly ready to recapture Ramadi and ISIS-held areas of Anbar province.

Last month, the forces of Evil recorded a spectacular victory, overrunning Ramadi and capturing large amounts of ammunition and armored vehicles from fleeing Iraqi troops.

Syria pro-regime tribes reject Jordanian king's support
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Representatives of some of Syria's leading pro-government tribes Friday rejected support from Jordan's King Abdullah II against ISIS, accusing him of backing "terrorists."

Their comments came after the Jordanian monarch, in a meeting with tribal leaders in his country, pledged to support tribes in areas of Syria and Iraq where the jihadis are operating.

"It is our duty as a nation to support the tribes in eastern Syria and western Iraq," the king was quoted as saying by Jordanian official media during the meeting on Sunday.

While the pledge was welcomed by some tribes in Iraq, the comments were received differently in Syria, where the government accuses Amman of backing rebels fighting to oust Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Supressor of the Damascenes...
"The Syrian tribes firmly and definitively reject any call or project to deprive them of their national, Syrian, Arab essence," said Sheikh Mohammad Fares al-Abd al-Rahman of the Tay tribe.

Speaking underneath a photo of Assad at a Damascus presser, he expressed "surprise" at King Abdullah's comments.

The king, he said, "is well aware of who is behind the Death Eaters and where their operations rooms and military training camps are located, where their funding and weapons come from, and how they enter our country from Jordan."

Liberated ‘Gire Sipi’ to join Kobani canton
[Rudaw] The ethnically mixed Syrian town of Tal Abyad , known as Gire Sipi in Kurdish, will temporarily become part of the Kurdish-administrated Kobani canton, local authorities told Rudaw on Saturday.

The strategic border town, recently recaptured from the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, will join the Kobani administrative zone due to its proximity and "shared culture and history," according to the provisional council that approved the decision.

The council, set up to represent the area's ethnic and religious groups, voted unanimously for Tal Abyad join Kobani canton. "Canton" refers to a territorial district, in this case of Rojava, the Kurdish name for the ethnic-majority Kurdish area of northern Syria.

"No group was opposed to the idea of, at least temporarily, becoming part of the Kobani canton until things become more stable," said an Arab representative on the council.

"No one wanted to have anything to do with the ISIS in Raqqa province," he added.

Originally part of Raqqa province in northern Syria, Tal Abyad has a population of 52,000 people, mostly Kurds and Arabs, but also ethnic Christians and Turkmen who have lived in the area for centuries.

The provincial council said "all groups will have a say" in how the city as governed.

Tal Abyad fell to the jihadist faceless myrmidons in 2013, following the Syrian popular uprising. The recapture of the city was a joint operation by the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) and Kurdish Protection Units (YPG) supported by coalition Arclight airstrikes on ISIS positions in and around the city.

"All the different peoples here in the area called on the YPG and FSA to liberate the city from these dark forces," said one Kurdish representative, referring to the ISIS faceless myrmidons who have controlled most of central Syria since the uprising turned into a bloody sectarian war in the country.

More than 220,000 people had until January this year been killed as a result of the war in Syria, according to the latest United Nation report published in April.

Earlier last week, Kurdish authorities in Tal Abyad rebuffed accusations from neighboring The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
about closure of the border gate by the YPG with the intention of preventing Arab families from returning to the city.

"Until things become more stable, the administration of the city will be handed over to the canton in Kobane after which people will decide how to run their town," said one YPG representative in the provincial council.

Tal Abyad is seen as far more strategically important than Kobane because it connects the three Kurdish-controlled areas of Afrin, Cizire and Kobani, while it is the only routes from ISIS capital of Raqqa to the Turkish border.

American member of YPG killed while fighting ISIS in Syria
[ARA] An American citizen fighting in the ranks of the Kurdish forces of the People's Protection Units (YPG) was reportedly killed Wednesday evening, during battles against the radical group of the Islamic State

(IS/ISIS) in the countryside of Kobane, northern Syria.
It's good to know there are American men left who'll fight evil in real life, rather than staying home and playing "Call of Duty."
YPG Media Office informed ARA News that the fighter Keith Broomfeild, an American national, fell on Wednesday evening in battles against IS terrorist group in Kobane countryside.

"Broomfeild, who entered Syria a few months ago, joined the ranks of the YPG forces and participated in many battles in several fronts against ISIS in Kobane countryside and Tel Abyad (Gire Spi) in Raqqa province, northeastern Syria," a YPG fighter told ARA News.

The source did not mention further details on how and where the American fighter lost his life. "But we immediately informed the family of our comrade Keith Broomfeild about his martyrdom."

"It was God's will that he went to Syria," his mother told NBC News. "I didn't want him to go, but I couldn't stop him."

According to the CNN, Jennifer Broomfield, a woman who identified herself on Facebook as Keith Broomfield's sister, shared an image of a text message conversation on the social medium, which she said were the "Last words I had with my brother."

"My unspoken prayers and tears for those in the Middle East were answered when he left to fight," she wrote. "I didn't think I would lose him."

"I'm gonna do what I got to do," he wrote. "Sometimes you got to be a man whether you want to or not. I don't expect anyone to understand but I don't need anyone to either.'

IS prepares for destroying ancient heritage in Palmyra

group (IS/ISIS) planted large deal of explosives and mines in the archaeological locations of the Syrian ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur), as a prelude to detonate them, activists reported on Sunday.

The radical group has been in control of the ancient city since last May.

"The group intends to blow up monuments in Palmyra," said Yazan Qutna, a Syrian civil rights activist.

Other sources reported that the IS faceless myrmidons planted mines in the ancient city in an attempt to prevent possible progress by the Syrian army.

Meanwhile,
...back at the alley, Slats Chumbaloni was staring into a hole that was just .45 inch in diameter and was less than three feet from his face ...
Syrian regime officials told news hounds in Damascus that IS Death Eaters are planning to blow up antiquities in the ancient city of Palmyra, including Roman pillars and theaters.

Palmyra is listed by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site. The United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...
appealed to the international community to intervene and protect the Syrian ancient city against atrocities of IS group.

IS gained control of Palmyra nearly a month ago after fierce battles with Syrian army forces.

Noteworthy, the Islamic State destroyed a number of archaeological sites in Iraq and Syria, as well as several religious shrines, castles and monasteries. International organizations and archaeologists expect IS to destroy the old city of Palmyra.

Druze in Israeli-held Golan fear for Syrian brethren
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Gathered at a hilltop in the Israeli-held Golan Heights, a group of Druze sheikhs look through binoculars at the Syrian village of Hader, surrounded by Islamist fighters. They fear their brethren are in imminent danger.

Intense battles this week have left Syria's al Qaeda branch, the Nusra Front, in control of hills that encircle the Druze village, leaving open only a southern gateway facing the Israeli-held territory and security fence.

"We have come to see what Nusra are doing to our relatives, they are holed up in their homes, surrounded by terrorists," said one of the five young sheikhs in traditional black garb and a white skull cap. He asked not to be identified.

Last week Nusra Front killed at least 20 Druze villagers in the northern Syrian province of Idlib, raising concern for the minority as bad boys, including Sunni Islamists, gain ground against Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Terror of Aleppo ...
Spread between Syria, Leb, Israel and Jordan, the Druze are viewed as heretics by al Qaeda and Islamic State

because of their religion, an offshoot of Islam incorporating elements of other faiths. Many Syrian Druzes have fought for Assad against the rebels.

A few dozen of Hader's houses are visible from across the frontier and the Syrian flag, a symbol of loyalty to Assad, is painted on a water tower. A handful of people could be seen for a moment out in the street.

The kabooms and gunfire near Hader this week thundered across to Majdal Shams, a Druze village in the Israeli-held Golan, four kilometers (2.5 miles) away.

Many here have family in Hader. Salman, 54, said he has been speaking with his cousin there daily.

"We are worried that, God forbid, those fanatical turbans will enter the village and that there will be a massacre," said Salman who asked not to give his full name.

"PREPARING FOR BATTLE"

Majdal Shams is home to about 10,000 Druze. In the shops and restaurants that line its steep, narrow streets people talk about Hader. Split between supporters of Assad and those who want him gone, villagers say they are united in concern for their kin.

Nabi Halabi, 45, says he is careful about phoning his Hader relatives because he is known as an Assad opponent and fears the president's forces will punish his family. Instead he relies on social networks for communication. "I have been checking Facebook every hour to see what's happening there," Halabi said.

"They said they are under siege, not sleeping, frightened and are worrying how to bring in food. They have received calming messages they will not be harmed, but they don't believe Nusra. They are preparing for battle."

Israel captured the Golan from Syria in the 1967 Middle East war and annexed it in a move not recognized internationally. It gave the Druze there, who number about 20,000, the option of citizenship. Most rejected it.

Druze inside Israel number about 110,000, some have risen high in Israel's political and military and have called for intervention as Islamist fighters make gains in Syria, including the Druze heartland of Sweida, near Jordan and Israel.

Israel's army chief, Gadi Eizenkot, told parliament on Tuesday that preparations were under way to respond to any massing of refugees on the Golan, but he did not elaborate.

On the hilltop overlooking Hader one of the sheiks said Israel should keep out. "We don't care about Israel or anyone else, if the Druze there are in danger, we will tear down the fence and go in to help."

Palestinians test second Nakba as Syria's crisis continues
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Sources reported to Zaman al-Wasl that Syrian regime's militias demand money and bribery from Paleostinian people to let them crossing barriers of the Syrian regime to reach to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
via Aleppo's and Idlib countryside.

Sources mentioned that cost for letting one person through a barrier reached to 25 thousand Syrian pound.

Crisis of Paleostinian people started with the beginning of the Syrian revolution, but it reached to the highest levels after the siege forced on yarmouk Camp for Paleostinian refugees in 2012, which is considered one of the toughest siege in recent history, where people found nothing to eat apart from dogs, cats, tree leaves and rodents. Moreover, prices for basic materials like bread, flour and rice reached to shocking levels. 177 people died of hunger in Yarmouk camp according to the General Commission of the Paleostinian-Syrian Refugees in Gaziantep.

"Consequences of the second Paleostinian disaster are increasing, while the international community keeps watching the destruction and the war crimes for more than 4 years. If the situation stayed like this, the future of 540 thousand of Paleostinian people in Syria would be lost, while two thirds of Paleostinians' camps were almost completely destroyed and 300 thousand were forcefully displaced", Ayman Fihmi Abo hashim, Head of the General Commission of the Paleostinian-Syrian Refugees, explained to Zaman al-Wasl.

Yarmouk camp for Paleostinian refugees had had the toughest circumstances, from siege to shelling and air strikes in 2012, which led to displacing about 160 thousand people and 177 people died of hunger, the number of Paleostinian people who escaped Syria reached to 80 thousand, mainly in Leb, Jordan and Egypt, according to the Working group for Paleostinians in Syria.

Machnouk: At least 4 officers accused of inmate torture
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] There are more than just two security officers accused of torturing inmates in Roumieh Prison, Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk said Sunday, after online footage showed two ISF officers beating prisoners with a plastic rod.

"These two officers are not alone," Machnouk said in a news conference held only hours after the arrest of the two men was announced.

"At least four others also committed mistakes and I have referred them to the judiciary," he added.

In addition to those who were jugged
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
, the interior minister said that other officers accused of torturing inmates have been kicked out of the ISF.

Though only the faces of two prison guards appear in the Youtube video that surfaced Saturday, Machnouk said that "there are more men but their faces don't appear in the footage."

The interior minister, who noted that the incident took place when security forces raided Roumieh prison to quell inmate riots last April, said that he "assumes full responsibility for the mistake."

He vowed to take all legal measures against those found guilty of misconduct, asserting that the incident has not recurred since it first took place two months ago.

After expressing his condemnation of the brutal acts carried out on prisoners, the interior minister said that "it was not strange" that this incident happened.

"We must take into consideration that about 100 security forces entered a facility that was housing at least 1000 inmates," he said. "So it is not strange that four or six officers did this."

"These incidents happen but I stress: we are the only Arab state that has referred officers who mistreated prisoners to the military court," he added.

Responding to his critics, Machnouk said "I inherited this prison, I inherited the prisoners and I inherited these conditions, I did not impose this."

The videos that surfaced on Youtube Saturday showed over a dozen Roumieh prisoners crouching on a floor with their hands tied behind their backs.

The men, who were stripped shirtless, were beaten severely with a long green rod.

Kurdish female fighters initiate humanitarian support for women suppressed by ISIS
[ARA] As Syrian Kurds nearing to capture the IS-held city of Tel Abyad in Raqqa province, northeastern Syria, Kurdish female fighters of the Women Protection Units (YPJ) announced the establishment of a private chamber to help the displaced women, who fled from the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. holy warriors (IS/ISIS), military sources reported on Monday.
These are real women, not blubbering hothouse raised snowflakes.
The Kurdish YPJ fighters will also provide assistance to those who are trapped in the city and get them reach the "liberated areas" which are under the control of their forces.

Newroz Ahmed, the YPJ General Commander, said Monday in a statement: "We seek through this chamber to support all women affected by the violence of IS turbans in Tel Abyad, whether Kurds or Arabs, and provide them with humanitarian support."

"After liberating the city of Tel Abyad, our first priority will be providing humanitarian support to the affected civilians, especially women," she said. "Therefore, we call on all women of Tel Abyad and Raqqa not to stay at the mercy of the border wire, but to head to the areas liberated by our forces."

The Kurdish commander pointed out that it's time for freedom from turbans of Daesh (IS), adding: "We (YPJ) are determined to continue strengthening our forces, and escalate our struggle for the protection of the entire society."

"We particularly protect the women from the injustice and terrorism of Daesh (IS) until liberating Tel Abyad permanently, this is the desire of our deaders and the desire of all peoples of the region."

The YPJ leading member added that the women of Raqqa (the IS de facto capital) who have lost their homes, recognize well the dirty practices of IS turbans who oblige residents to disperse into different places and refugee camps in neighboring countries.

Ahmed appealed to civilians suppressed by IS not to leave Syria "because the day of freedom from terrorism is coming soon".

The People's Protection Units (YPG) and Women Protection Units (YPJ) regained Monday the district of Mashhoour Tahtani in eastern Tel Abyad after fierce battles with the Islamic State. Additionally, the joint forces (YPG and Burkan al-Furat rebels) cut off the road between the cities of Tel Abyad and Raqqa in an attempt to suspend the main supply line of the Lion of Islam group.

IS 'bans extra evening prayers during Ramadan'

group has banned extra evening prayers during Ramadan in djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
because it considers them heresy.

Shiekh Saadoun al-Nuaimi told the Kurdish news agency, BasNews: "IS inquisitors religious police have banned tarawih prayers because they are a 'religious innovation' created by Saudi holy mans that under no circumstances will be allowed.

"IS has threatened all imams and mosques in Mosul that they will be flogged if they hold tarawih prayers."

The evening prayers are observed throughout the month and include 10 days of "seclusion" at the end of the month, when some people sleep in the mosque overnight.

The extra prayers are observed by Sunni Moslems. The majority of Islamic scholars agree that they are not compulsory. Shia Moslems do not observe the prayers.
