Taliban meeting nixed over Kabul’s concerns: PM Khan
[DAWN] Prime Minister Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who is the lightweight's lightweight...
revealed on Monday that he had cancelled his scheduled meeting with the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
in Islamabad due to ’concerns’ expressed by the Afghan government.

He said shadows of war were still hovering over Pakistain and India as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration could go for another misadventure before general elections in the neighbouring country.

The prime minister said Pakistain was likely to hit "big" offshore oil reserves near Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
which would be enough to meet the country’s requirement and save over $12 billion annually on account of oil import bill.

"My meeting with the Taliban was scheduled but it was cancelled due to concerns shown by the Afghan government," Mr Khan said while talking to a group of media persons at the Prime Minister Office. However,
some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go...
he did not elaborate when and with which Taliban representatives his meeting had been fixed.

Media reports had suggested that after a recent round of talks with the United States in Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
, the Taliban had called off a planned meeting in Pakistain with a plea that most of the members of their negotiating team were unable to travel because of sanctions by the US and United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...

UNAMA releases initial findings regarding alleged civilian casualties in Kunduz airstrike
[KhaamaPress] The United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) on Monday released its initial findings regarding alleged civilian casualties in Kunduz Arclight airstrike.

According to initial findings of UNAMA, an airstrike conducted by international military forces on the night of Friday to Saturday in Kunduz in support of pro-Government forces on the ground killed 13 civilians and injured three more.

The UN mission in Afghanistan in a statement said "The Mission expresses serious concern that initial fact-finding indicates that 10 of those killed were children, part of the same extended family whom were displaced by fighting elsewhere in the country. Work is ongoing to verify all civilian casualties that occurred during military operations that were conducted around the time of the airstrike. The incident occurred in the Telawka neighbourhood close to Kunduz city during operations conducted by pro-government forces against Taliban
...Arabic for students...
in the area."

The statement further added that UNAMA urges relevant authorities and parties involved in the airstrike to conduct their own enquiries in to the incident and to take immediate steps to safeguard civilians from harm. Parties are urged to publish results of their findings, as well as provide appropriate compensation to victims.

"In its 2018 Annual Protection of Civilians Report, released in February 2019, UNAMA reported a sharp increase in civilian casualties from aerial and search operations in 2018 compared to 2017. The report noted that aerial operations by international military forces, as well as search operations conducted by Afghan national security forces and pro-Government gangs, drove a 24 per cent overall increase in civilian casualties by pro-Government forces. UNAMA expressed particular concern about child casualties from air strikes which have been increasing every year since 2014," UNAMA said.

The statement also added that UNAMA reminds all parties to the conflict to uphold their obligations under international humanitarian law to protect civilians from harm, including their obligation to take all feasible precautions to avoid death or injury to civilians.

France Bans Iranian Airline for Shipping Troops and Weapons to Syria
[Breitbart] France on Monday banned flights by Iranian airline Mahan Air, on the grounds that Mahan is employed by the Iranian regime to send troops and weapons to hotspots across the Middle East, including Syria.
The move is a significant step toward European acceptance of the Trump administration’s argument that Iran is a major threat to stability in the Middle East.

Mahan Air, Iran’s oldest private airline, was sanctioned by the United States in 2011 for supporting the notorious Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the theocracy-controlled, terror-sponsoring wing of Iran’s military.

The airline was also banned by Germany at the beginning of 2019. France considered a ban under the previous administration but relented because it worried sanctions against the Iranian airline would destroy the allegedly positive diplomatic environment after the Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2015.

Germany cited Mahan Air’s ties with the IRGC’s Quds Force, an elite unit with a history of espionage activity, when it revoked the airline’s permits in January. The United States designated Mahan as a material supporter of terrorism due to its Quds Force ties.

"The French ban on the airline, which had four flights a week to Paris from Tehran, takes effect from April 1. The airline’s website is no longer taking reservations and calls to its offices in Paris were not answered," Reuters reported on Monday.

Imam who Urged Czech Muslims to Take Up Arms is Fired
[AnNahar] The head of Prague's Moslem community who urged Czech Moslems to acquire arms after the Christchurch attack has been sacked, the Czech Moslem Communities Center said Monday.

"Our meeting on March 24... decided unequivocally to cancel Mr Leonid Kushnarenko's membership of the Czech Moslem Communities Center with an immediate effect," the Center said on Facebook.

"The reason behind this decision is the statement and acts of Mr Kushnarenko, which seriously harm the interests of... the Moslem community in the Czech Republic."

Kushnarenko had offered to help Prague Moslems obtain firearms in a video message posted to Facebook after an Australian white supremacist killed 50 people in two mosques during a rampage in Christchurch, New Zealand on March 15.

"In light of the recent tragic events I inform all our members, in particular men -- all who want... to get armed to protect their health and property, contact me and I'll help you." Kushnarenko said.

The Denik N daily quoted the Ukrainian-born lawyer as saying he made the appeal owing to "Islamophobic sentiments" in the Czech Republic.

Czech President Milos Zeman won his second term last year with strong anti-Moslem rhetoric, while the anti-migrant far-right SPD party now has 19 politicians in the 200-seat parliament.

Kushnarenko told Denik N Monday he was entitled to appeal the decision, which also strips him of leadership in the Prague Moslem community, but added that he would not.

The Moslem population in the Czech Republic, an EU member of 10.6 million people, comprised 3,358 people in a 2011 census, but unofficial estimates suggest a community of 10,000-20,000 people.

[TWITTER] Islamophobia a threat to entire society, not just Muslims: EU foreign policy chief

[DAWN] European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini on Monday described rising Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
as a threat not only for Moslems but for all of European society as it "threatens diversity".

Mogherini, who is on an official visit to Pakistain, made the comments during a joint presser with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Wormtongue Qureshi after a meeting in Islamabad.

"The strength of our societies lies in our diversity, and whoever attacks the diversity of our societies attacks the entire society not just one segment of it," she said. "This is why for the European Union, institutions, for me personally, for all our member states, it is a priority to make sure that Islamophobia doesn't find any place in the European Union," she asserted.

Where the Hell did this brain-dead, cockamamie notion that "diversity is our strength" ever come from, anyway?

Islam is a totalitarian ideology that is COMPLETELY incompatible with democratic ideals, and constitutes a grave danger to our freedom and even our lives.

You'd think by now that would be blatantly obvious to anyone with more than one functioning brain cell, but apparently it is not.

Idiots...

#3  once upon a time I was attending (per organization directive) a lecture on diversity in which the speaker waxed eloquent on the subject and on the subject of valuing each person's identity

I asked whether someone who doesn't value each person's identity should be valued for their identity. The speaker didn't understand. Then I asked whether someone who advocated cannibalism should be valued for their identity. The speaker got angry at me.

Day 2: Hamas Rocket Attack Overshadows AIPAC Conference - jihadi-linked protesters, Sen. Chuck Schumer, SecState Pompeo
[Jpost] The festive atmosphere of the second day of the AIPAC Policy Conference was overshadowed by news of the rocket attack from Gazoo Monday at dawn that struck Moshav Mishmeret. At the long lines for security checks outside the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, the MKs, journalists and participants from across the US were all regularly checking their cellphone for updates.

Maj.-Gen. (res) Amos Gilad told The Jerusalem Post that we are already in a new "round of violence."

"Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", attacked Israel. They have all sorts of excuses. But they are in charge in Gazoo, and Israel responses accordingly. We are already in the midst of escalation. We did not initiate it. We are responding, defending ourselves. We should wait and see the outcome of the [IDF] attacks. That looks serious," he said.

Eliot Engel, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told the Post that "It is obviously a concern. There were provocations that are not acceptable, and we have to learn more about it. I don’t know all the details yet." When asked if he thinks that we’re getting closer to a military confrontation between Israel and Hamas, Engel replied: "I don’t know. I hope not. But I certainly understand that Israel needs to protect its people, and the United States has always been supportive of Israel, and will continue to do so."

In a conversation at the sidelines of AIPAC confab, Engel also addressed the presidential decision to recognize Israel illusory sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

"Israel has controlled the Golan Heights since the war in 1967," he said. "I can’t think of anybody who seriously thinks that Israel should leave. Obviously, it is important to the security of Israel to continue to have a strong Israeli presence there. However they do it is fine with me. But I think that everyone realizes that given the situation in Syria, given the fact that there’s no real government there, given the fact that Assad is a murderer, no one thinks that the Golan Heights should return to Syria."

Former secretary of cabinet and current Blue and White Knesset candidate Zvi Hauser told the Post that "In moments like this, the political debate is irrelevant. There’s a challenge to the state of Israel. The main challenge to the security is the missiles threat, both in the south and Israel’s north front. Therefore, we can’t live in a situation in which [the] Israeli citizen is the only one in the world that faces this threat on a daily basis."

AIPAC Protesters With Terror Ties Compare Zionists To Nazis

[Jpost] Protesters outside the AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, DC compared Israel supporters to Nazis in a demonstration organized by al-Awda, an anti-Israel group with connections to several Paleostinian terrorist organizations.

"A progressive Zionist is the same as a progressive Nazi," Abbas Hamideh, an al-Awda leader, chanted at Sunday’s protest, with demonstrators cheering him in response. Hamideh posted a video of the protest on his Facebook page.

In a reference to a remark by Rep. Ilhan Omar
Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She is apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw...
(D-MN), which was condemned as antisemitic by many Jewish organizations and members of Congress on both sides of the aisle, Hamideh said: "We are demanding an end to AIPAC’s influence over our American politicians. We demand an end to the Benjamins" ‐ meaning $100 bills ‐ "that go to the politicians."

Al-Awda, which is Arabic for "the return," calls on its website for an end to all US aid to Israel, a comprehensive boycott of Israel, the "right of return" for Paleostinian refugees and their descendants, and a Paleostinian state "in all of Paleostine," meaning one that would replace Israel. It refers to Israel in quotation marks, further signaling its refusal to accept the country’s existence.

Earlier this month, The Jerusalem Post exposed al-Awda’s ties to terrorist groups. It is a founding member of the Global Paleostinian Right of Return Coalition (GPRRC), part of the Paleostinian BDS National Committee (BNC), which coordinates the anti-Israel boycott, divestment and sanctions movement worldwide. The central organization in the BNC is the Paleostinian National and Islamic Forces (PNIF), which includes five US-designated terrorist organizations: Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine (PFLP), the Popular Front - General Command, the Paleostine Liberation Front and Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
One of al-Awda’s co-founders, Mazin Qumsiyeh, was the coordinator of the Popular Resistance Committee Against the Wall, which, according to the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center, coordinated its activities with Hamas and the PFLP, among other groups. Qumsiyeh was tossed in the clink
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
by Israeli authorities a dozen times, by his own admission in 2011. Since its establishment, al-Awda has also regularly hosted convicted Lions of Islam and members of terrorist groups at its events.

Following the Post’s reporting, the International Legal Forum (ILF) sent a warning letter to GoFundMe, where al-Awda was raising money to organize its demonstration at AIPAC, saying that they are providing services to a terrorism-affiliated organization.

GoFundMe told ILF that its "Trust & Safety team will be investigating the page and taking appropriate action." The site did not respond to further inquiries.

ILF CEO Yifa Segal said that "providing financial services to terror-affiliated organizations constitutes material support for terrorism which is a severe federal offense under US law. The ILF is committed to exposing and pursuing these matters, making sure that the law is enforced and terror-affiliated organizations are defunded and unmasked."

Al-Awda’s GoFundMe page for the protest said it aims to "expose [AIPAC’s] subversion of US foreign policy" and "continue to battle on behalf of the beleaguered Paleostinian people." They promoted the event on social media with the hashtag "#SupportPaleostineInDC2019." The organization sought to match its fundraising from last year’s protest, which reached $10,000, but as of March 25, it only raised half that amount.

Chuck Schumer At AIPAC: A Jew Who Lobbies For Israel Is No Less American

[Jpost] Schumer bellowed a pro-Israel message at the annual event, while calling out fellow politician Rep. Ilhan Omar
Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She is apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw...
who had questioned the Jewish ability to be pro-Israel and pro-American at the same time.

Schumer, born in Brooklyn, is himself Jewish. He has served as the senior United States Senator from New York since the late 1990s.

SecState Pompeo To AIPAC: Anti-Zionism Is Antisemitism

[Jpost] US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo embraced Israel in a speech at the AIPAC policy conference in Washington DC on Tuesday.

"Israel should be admired, not attacked, embraced, not vilified," Pomeo stated at the annual gathering of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. "I’m proud to lead American diplomacy to support Israel’s right to defend itself, stand with the Jewish people, and champion the perennial cause of religious liberty," he said.

Pompeo was one of the many elected officials from both Israel and America to speak at the event hosted by the pro-Israeli lobby. The State Department has historically been viewed by many pro-Israel activists as leaning toward pressuring Israel into compromise vis-a-vis the Palestinians. However the Trump Administration seems to have shifted the narrative, recognizing Israel's right to the Golan Heights on Monday. The strategic highlands was controlled by Syria from 1948 - 1967.

"The rise of antisemitism & anti-Zionism strikes at the very foundation of freedom," Pompeo added. "The Trump Administration opposes it unequivocally and will fight it relentlessly, from the fever swamp of the UN Human Rights Council to the world’s number one proponent of antisemitism: Iran," the Secretary of State declared.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was scheduled to speak at the conference but returned to Israel early Tuesday morning due to the rocket attack crisis.

Rao Anwar, 17 others indicted in Naqeeb murder case, plead 'not guilty'
[DAWN] An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
on Monday indicted former Malir SSP Rao Anwar and 17 others for the murder of Wazoo native Naqeebullah Mehsud in a fake encounter in Karachi.

Anwar and the other accused, who were in the courtroom when the charges were framed against them, pleaded 'not guilty'.

The court ordered the complainant and the magistrate, who recorded the testimonies of eyewitnesses, to appear on April 11 and adjourned the hearing until then.

Anwar, along with former deputy superintendent of police Qamar and three others who are accused in the case, are out on bail, while 13 police officials are in jail on judicial remand.

An inquiry team probing the Jan 2018 'extrajudicial killing' of Naqeebullah found that the Waziristan native was killed in a "fake encounter" which was "staged" by the former Malir SSP. Following the inquiry team's findings, Anwar was suspended from his post.

Rao Anwar, however, has stuck to the claim that Naqeeb was a Tehrik-e-Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
Pakistain bully boy. No evidence has emerged to support this claim.

The killing of the young Mehsud had sparked widespread protests by the civil society and then chief justice Mian Saqib Nisar took suo motu
...a legal term, from the Latin. Roughly translated it means I saw what you did, you bastard...
notice of the killings. But a formal trial of the case had not been initiated until now.

After eluding law enforcers for two months and upon being offered opportunities by retired Justice Nisar to surrender, the former SSP had finally appeared before the Supreme Court and was subsequently tossed in the clink
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
in Islamabad in March last year.

UN says Israeli sovereignty over the Golan remains ‘null and void’
You and what army, Bud?
[IsraelTimes] The UN Security Council in a December 1981 resolution called Israel’s de-facto annexation of the Golan Heights is "null and void and without international legal effect" ‐ and the UN says Secretary-General Antonio Guterres adheres to council resolutions.

UN front man Stephane Dujarric says that Guterres’ position remains unchanged despite US President Donald Trump

Guterres says in a report on recent activities of the UN peacekeeping force on the Golan Heights that he was "gravely concerned" at escalating tension there between Israel and Syria. He circulates the report to the Security Council.

The secretary-general singled out three incidents between Syria and Israel between November 20 and February 11.

Iraq
US boosts forces in Iraq/Syria, backing recognition of Israeli sovereignty over Golan
[Debka] The US has continued to buttress its military presence in E. Syria and W. Iraq in six bases, since the buildup was first reported by DEBKAfile on March 9. On March 20, President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
confirmed the decision to leave 400 US troops in Syria ‐ 200 in the north and 200 at Al Tanf on the Jordanian border. (He did not speak about 200 on the Israeli border, as widely reported.) Two days earlier, Gen. Joseph Danford, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, denied a Wall Street Journal report that the US planned to leave 1,000 soldiers in Syria, while unnamed US military sources spoke of 1,500 American troops that would remain in North Syria.

DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources have sorted out the conflicting reports and can confirm that the US has substantially boosted its military strength in both countries and distributed the strength among six bases:

Three are located in Iraq. For the first time since ISIS was defeated there in early 2016, US Marines have been posted to a base near the Iraqi town of Ramadi, capital of the western governorate of Anbar and 1110km from Baghdad. (See attached map.).

Reinforcements have also reached the US K1 military base near Kirkuk. Earlier this year, the US army converted this facility into its main depot for the intake of American troops and equipment withdrawn from Syria. Since the withdrawal has wound down, K1 has been built up for controlling the northern sector of the Iraqi-Syrian border from Iraqi Kurdistan.

The third US base consolidated in Iraq this week was the big Ayn al-Asad Airbase (which President Trump visited last Christmas).

A glance at the attached map reveals that by dint of their newly-reinforced and deployed strength, US forces in Iraq are able to afford the American Middle East command full control of central, western and northern Iraq.

The US bases augmented in Syria this month are located in three regions:

The southern Al Tanf base, just 24km west of the Syrian-Jordanian-Iraq border junction, has been strengthened with additional Marine and artillery forces.

Al Raqqa, the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
’s stronghold in Syria until its ouster by US-backed Kurdish forces in 2017, is the second base.

And the third is the US air base at Remelin northeast of Hasakeh, the Syrian Kurds’ political center.

The six bases are focal points of US military command control of around 1,500 sq.km of territory between Ramadi in central Iraq, up to Hasakeh in northern Syria, and down south to Al Tanf. This wedge of land is bisected down the center by the Iraqi-Syria border.

The new US military deployment in Syria and Iraq gives substance to President Trump’s statement that the time has come to recognize Israeli illusory sovereignty over the Golan. Most significantly, it is a high impediment for the plan hatched between Tehran and the Assad regime to go forward without delay for the establishment of an Iranian land bridge to the Mediterranean after first reopening the Iraqi-Syrian border. Iranian, Syrian and Iraqi generals began planning this project when they met on March 18 in Damascus.

President Trump's support for Israeli Golan Heights draws global anger
[Aljazeera] US President Donald Trump has recognised the disputed Golan Heights as Israeli territory in an election boost for visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, drawing a sharp response from Syria, which once held the strategic land.

With Netanyahu looking over his shoulder at the White House, Trump signed a proclamation officially granting United States recognition of the occupied Golan as Israeli territory - a dramatic shift from decades of US policy.

The move, which Trump announced in a tweet last Thursday, appeared to be the most overt gesture by the Republican president to help Netanyahu, who had been pressing Trump for the move since February 2017.

Netanyahu welcomed Trump's action and said Israel had never had a better friend. He harked back to two previous Middle Eastern wars in justifying Israel's need to hang on to the Golan.

Syria reacted swiftly to Trump's proclamation, calling it a "blatant attack" on its sovereignty and territorial integrity and saying it had a right to reclaim the Golan.
but not the ability
The Syrian foreign minister said US recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights will lead to its isolation.

Lebanese President defends Hezbollah during Pompeo meeting
[ALMASDARNEWS] Lebanese President General Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah

told U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday that Hezbollah is a Lebanese party represented in parliament and government.

General Aoun told the visiting U.S. diplomat that Hezbollah’s presence in Leb stems from a popular base that denotes one of the main sects in the country.

"Maintaining national unity and civil peace is a priority for us," President Aoun told Secretary Pompeo during his meeting with him at the Baabda palace.

Aoun also solicited US support for Leb to secure the repatriation of the Syrian refugees to the safe areas in Syria, noting that Leb has hosted more than 1.5 million Syrians inside its territory and is no longer capable of bearing the repercussions of such displacement on all daily living-related sectors.

Aoun stressed that the arrangements for the return of refugees will continue in accordance with the mechanism set by the Lebanese General Security.

On the other hand, Aoun welcomed the United States’ assistance in the demarcation of the land border known as the "Blue Line," saying that "such an action strengthens security and stability in the south."

The head of state underlined Leb’s commitment to the implementation of U.N. Resolution 1701 to maintain stability along the southern border despite the ongoing Israeli violations by land, air, and sea.

Aoun thanked Minister Pompeo for his country’s assistance to the Lebanese Army, especially during the war of liberating the Beqaa Governorate from terrorist groups like the Islamic State

I kinda lost track here. Is 1701 the resolution calling for the Juice to throw themselves into the Med or is it just generic Death To Israel?

Houston: Muslim Schoolkids Sing 'Khamenei is our leader' - 'Allahu akbar ... we are your soldiers'
[WND] Students at a Muslim school in Houston, Texas, celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Islamic revolution in Iran with condemnations of U.S. sanctions against the rogue regime and declarations that the ayatollah "is our leader."

A video of the celebration at the Islamic Education Center of Houston on Feb. 20 was uploaded to the school’s YouTube channel, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI.

Morteza Kazemian, a 10th grader, said the United States continues to sanction Iran because it is scared of the Islamic nation.

The crowd chanted in response: "Away with the humiliation ... Allah Akbar! Khamenei is our leader!"

The reference was to the ayatollah who serves as Iran’s supreme leader.

In addition, young boys wearing scarves and green headbands sang a song for the ayatollah.

"We are your followers, you are our leader. ... We are your soldiers, and together we can all be your power. ... May Allah always keep your hand upon us. ... A warrior just like the Battle of Khaybar. ... May you always be the light to our guidance."

Press TV anchor Marzieh Hashemi spoke briefly at the ceremony through a video call.
