It's a pity everyone under 50 didn't get a COVID party and then the country can go about it's business without waiting for a vaccine that wont come or be utilised (as it's more risky than COVID to the vast majority of the population).

Investors eye discounted U.S. healthcare sector as Biden's lead in polls grows
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Investors are looking for bargains among healthcare stocks, even as prospect of a Democratic "Blue Sweep" in next month’s elections threatens more volatility for a sector already trading near a historical discount to the broader market.

A victory by former Vice President Joe Biden over President Donald Trump on Nov. 3 and a potential Democratic takeover of the Senate could clear the way for prescription drug price and healthcare coverage reforms, generally seen as potential negatives for companies in the sector.

Some investors are betting these factors have already been priced into healthcare shares or may not be as detrimental as feared, while the companies stand to benefit from relatively stable earnings prospects and their medical innovations.

"For high-quality companies that are trading at reasonable valuations ... there is a strong argument to be made for adding some healthcare exposure to portfolios," said James Ragan, director of wealth management research at D.A. Davidson.

Shameful moderator bias at the vice presidential debate
[American Thinker] One tragedy of this election season, and all modern election seasons, is that the Democrats’ radicalism is being hidden from the American people by a complicit media.

It would have been nice, then, if Wednesday’s vice presidential debate could have been a teaching moment where light was shined on Kamala Harris’s and Joe Biden’s toxic positions. Unfortunately, moderator Susan Page’s bias made this impossible.

Page, USA Today’s Washington Bureau chief, made sure to inquire about how Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the Supreme Court would affect abortion, exhibiting the typical leftist obsession with prenatal infanticide. She asked Vice President Mike Pence how he thought his state of Indiana should legislate on the matter were Roe v. Wade struck down (I didn’t know he was again running for the Hoosier State’s governor). Of course, this might be a fair question.

That is, if Harris had been asked about her and Biden’s radical pro-prenatal infanticide positions. Harris supports "’abortion on demand at any time, any where [sic], and under any circumstances,’" LifeNews.com quotes president of National Right to Life Carol Tobias as stating. And both she and Biden advocate taxpayer funding of prenatal infanticide.

The point is that Pence’s and President Trump’s abortion polices align far more closely with the electorate’s wishes than does the Democrat ticket’s radicalism. But the American people couldn’t learn this truth on Wednesday — thanks, largely, to Susan Page.

That’s just the iceberg’s tip, too. This is by far the most radical Democrat presidential ticket — representing well its extremist party — to ever seek the White House.
Emphasis added.

#1  No surprises here, murder of the unborn and now recently born (women's right to choose) is a tenet of the Democratic party.

Notice the amount of time the moderator spent on Pres. Trump's Middle East troop reductions, reductions in illegal border crossings and progress on the wall, the return of industry to the United States from overseas, the mobilization of business and industry to fight CV-19 ?

No, neither did I.

#2  I tuned in twice - first Harris laid all COVID deaths at their feet - CLICK.

Tuned back in 1/2 hour later when the battleax moderator calmly asserted 'scientists agree that man is causing global warming / climate change. CLICK, for good.

Why do Repub's keep putting up with this?
Posted by: Raj || 10/08/2020 9:50 Comments || Top||

#3  I watched it from beginning to end. My two cents. The mistake of the moderator was she asked the questions about a topic differently for each candidate. This took away the candidates ability to debate specifics around one question. So the candidates both addressed the first question. Dumb plan by the mod.
I was a bit pissed at Pence in that he led in slowly, showing leadership I agree, but only got to the meat of the answer when his time was up. This made it look like the mod was cutting him off. He should have put the meat in the middle so the points were made.
Kamala did a lot of harm to herself. She is very smart, she is very quick, but she acted like a DA prosecuting a case. She came across as condescending, arrogant, mocking Pence at every turn. If she mocked the Vice President, how will she treat me? Then with almost every answer the world was going to end under Trump/Pence. She sewed panic on TV, Pence clued into it but was not prepped to push back, except over vaccines. The Dems should have learned from Hillary that a snippy, self riotous and condescending woman is an American turn off, we call them BFH. Double standard? Maybe, but its how America is today. Lastly was her lies, some subtle, some bold faced. Did they think the social media would not jump all over that? Lastly on her, I was surprised that Pence did not bring out her debates with Biden and her discounting debates publicly.
Pence could have done better, but Harris snatched defeat from the hands of victory...

One worry I have in this election is who older White voters will blame for Chinavirus.

Pence was a little too easy on letting Harris'/moderator's lies on this issue pass.

We all know the bulk of the deaths were NY and Jersey, followed by other blue states; if the Dems successfully pin this on Trump, then he'll lose a lot of White votes and whatever gains he's made among minorities won't make up for that.

I hope his campaign is paying very careful attention to this situation and has a strategy for it.

Otherwise...

Biden Confused By Woman Of Color On TV Who Isn't Stocking Grocery Shelves
"Who is that woman in the Vice Presidential Debate? Where am I?"
[Babylon Bee] During the evening of the VP debates, Joe Biden settled down on his soft couch with a glass of warm milk to watch his favorite stories on television. When he turned on the tube, he was shocked to see a woman of color on the screen.

"Wait a jack-a-doodle minute! This ain't Matlock!" Biden said to his assistant. "Who is that lady on the screen? Why isn't she stocking the grocery store shelves? How will I get my pudding and applesauce? Why isn't this Matlock, you good for nothin' pony soldier?"

Biden's assistant began her nightly ritual of reminding Biden who he was and what he was doing. "She's my running mate? Wow! So clean and articulate!" Biden exclaimed.

Biden started watching the debate but fell asleep 9 minutes in.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Time is up for the ongoing, dangerous Likud and ultra-Orthodox liason
In the last few days you heard some confusing things about the Ultra-Orthodox Jews (Heredi = "Terrified" in Hebrew) & Covid. Especially as some people (shaking the chicken) present recent actions - concerning Haredi & Covid - by NYC authorities as anti-semitism. Well, the authorities in Israel have found themselves forced to similar actions.
I might add that, in Israel at least, the Haredi response to Covid regulation is just the last straw - these people have nothing but disdain for the larger Israeli society (at whose expense they live). To them the instructions from the Rebbe, and there are dozens of Rebbes because there are dozens of sects, supersede both the Law of the Land and the Laws of traditional Judaism.
p.s. Haredi are anti-zionist (salvation from G*d, not human actions)
So, here's some historical background

[Jpost] ...It was May 1977, and Corfu was trying to dissuade Begin from heeding the ultra-Orthodox demand that El Al not fly on Shabbat. Begin, however, did not care for Corfu’s financial concerns. He thought strategically, and acted swiftly.

It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Now in its 44th year, the consequent pact became a fixture of Israeli politics. Now, as the pandemic leads the Jewish state to the brink of social abyss, Likud’s voters must realize this deal’s recklessness and decadence.

BEGIN’S CALCULATION served momentary circumstances, but had deep roots.

Faced with an option of a broader, but less conservative, coalition with the liberal Dash, Begin preferred a narrow but conservative coalition with ultra-Orthodoxy.

Beyond this calculus was Begin’s affinity for tradition, and his sympathy to ultra-Orthodoxy’s Israeli traumas, which harked back to David Ben-Gurion’s hostility to its way of life. Begin’s alliance with ultra-Orthodoxy was therefore more than a stratagem. It was a political romance and a social roadmap.

...Likud’s concessions to ultra-Orthodoxy were wholesale.

Military-service deferment rose from an annual 400 to more than 10,000. Ultra-Orthodox yeshivas became budgeted, child allowances for big families were multiplied, and married yeshiva students’ healthcare fees and property taxes were shaved. A yeshiva student came to cost the state more than a monthly NIS 4,000, according to Hiddush, a nonprofit promoting religious freedom.

In return, Likud got parliamentary stability and political longevity. On the face of it, this alliance was a new version of the historic alliance between religious Zionism and the Labor Party. In fact, it was its perversion.

Modern Orthodoxy and Labor were real partners, in both faith and sacrifice. They believed with equal conviction in the Jewish people’s duty to seize its political fate, and they jointly built the Jewish state and fought for its defense.

That’s not what happened between Likud and ultra-Orthodoxy. It might have been, had Likud demanded from ultra-Orthodoxy’s rabbis ideological concessions, like teaching their children math, science and English, or sending their men to the army.

This attitude never crossed the minds of Likud’s leaders, who moved on such fronts only in response to High Court rulings, and then, too, grudgingly and halfheartedly.

It was an unholy alliance all along, a marriage of convenience between ultra-patriots and anti-patriots, a pact whose cynicism the coronavirus has now laid bare.

THE NUMBERS are unambiguous. One in four ultra-Orthodox Israelis tested these days for the coronavirus is diagnosed positive, and one in three Israelis tested positive is ultra-Orthodox.
The Sect leaders, on direct command from G*d, decided to go for Herd Immunity for their group* - before it spreads to the population at large, and the medical system is overwhelmed. The rest of the country are apostates anyway - to hell with them! Experts believe that some of the infections in the Haredi sector are actually reinfections. Which, according to latest information are more serious than the first. The Lord moves in mysterious ways.
*Lockdown is the death of their sects because constant group reinforcement is the only way to keep the sect together. The first lockdown have resulted in some Yeshiva students droping out and joining the larger society.

No, ultra-Orthodoxy’s response to the crisis has not been monolithic, and the crisis is not limited to ultra-Orthodoxy. Many parts of the ultra-Orthodox community have taken the Health Ministry’s instructions seriously, and some also at an effort, creating partitioned capsules in yeshiva halls and moving holiday prayers outdoors.

And the rules’ disparagement was a joint venture in which many other Israelis starred, from wealthy businessmen who held lavish private parties, through Arab clans that held big weddings, to anti-Netanyahu protesters who held crowded demonstrations.

Even so, ultra-Orthodoxy was different because some of its mass violations were inspired by some of its leaders.

For instance, the huge Belz synagogue in Jerusalem held its holiday prayers in total disregard of the pandemic and its regulations, with thousands of mask-less worshipers crowded within its marble-plated walls. Similarly, the Vizhnitzer Rebbe, Yisrael Hager, held a post-Yom Kippur celebratory tisch where no one wore masks or kept distance. The same conduct reportedly happened in many hassidic shtiebels.

These are not anecdotes. Rather, these are symptoms of a political disease, the sour grapes of an era in which Likud effectively told ultra-Orthodoxy that secular Israel is fine with the ultra-Orthodox way. And the ultra-Orthodox way means placing the tribe above the public, the ghetto above the country, and the rabbi above the state.

Whatever the upcoming months’ medical developments, what we are witnessing socially is the result of a political decadence that fermented for more than 40 years.

The formula whereby nationalists helped rabbis industrialize draft dodging, discourage work, obstruct family planning, prevent modern education, and shove thousands into shoebox apartments in secluded neighborhoods — could only stand for that long.

When leaders show how to take more, give less, and contribute nothing; when they cultivate tribalism, creating separate parties and schools for Ashkenazim and non-Ashkenazim; when they effectively tell their followers daily that the government is not really their leader, only an object of their real leaders’ hoodwinking — a day arrives when the whole structure caves in on its dwellers and builders.
Recent polls show than Religious Zionist party of Naftali Bennett is more popular than Likud (26 to 23 MKs).
It’s been one long political farce, economic scam, and social tragedy, and — as the virus it has courted now makes plain — its time is up.
Personal disclosure
To me, if you are an Israeli Jew who dodges IDF service - you are not my fellow citizen, you're a piece of sh*t.
If you believe that rote memorization of holy texts is scholarship, you're not scholar - you're toxic waste.

Yes and yes.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Foreign terror cells the backbone of Iran's IRGC
[THEBAGHDADPOST] Since 1979, Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
has set up many terrorist cells in foreign nations and trained and armed forces of Evil abroad in order to pursue its hegemonic ambitions, export its revolutionary ideals, carry out liquidations, and undermine other countries’ national interests and scuttle their foreign policy objectives.

After the Iran-Iraq War, the ruling clergy became very interested in creating terror cells in other countries because they give the regime several advantages, including being less costly in comparison to launching direct attacks against other countries. These cells also give the regime the advantage of anonymity, making it very difficult for other governments to directly connect Tehran to terrorist attacks and hold the Iranian leaders accountable.

‘Speak up!' ‐ ‘Sesame Street' tackles racism in TV special
NEW YORK (AP) — "Sesame Street" has always pressed for inclusion. Now in the wake of the national reckoning on race, it’s going further — teaching children to stand up against racism.

Sesame Workshop — the nonprofit, educational organization behind "Sesame Street" — will later this month air the half-hour anti-racist special "The Power of We" and hopes families will watch together.

The special defines racism for younger viewers and shows how it can be hurtful. It urges children who encounter racism or hear someone else be the victim of it to call it out. "When you see something that’s wrong, speak up and say, ’That’s wrong’ and tell an adult," 6-year-old Gabrielle the Muppet advises.

The special, composed of little skits and songs in a Zoom-like format, will stream on HBO Max and PBS Kids and air on PBS stations beginning Oct. 15.

In one animated skit, a Black Muppet is told by a white Muppet that he can’t dress up like a superhero because they’re only white. Though hurt, the Black Muppet nevertheless refuses to stop playing superheroes, saying they can come in all colors. The white Muppet soon apologizes. "Racism hurts and it’s wrong," is the message.
